Well here is my final report playing here in Cambs
It has been an interesting time and I wouldn't change a thing. I have played in this league since the age of 14 (that's 11 between me and you ), I have done some growing up and improving my game with great players, however my time here has come to an end and I will miss the challenges here.
I wish the league all the best for the future, good luck to the Six Mile Bottom who are going to the All England Team Championships!
White Horse B are CHAMPIONS
Yes you read that correctly!
A 5-0 victory on the final day secured the championship and my unbeaten record for myself this season (11-0).
It was a pleasure to play my final game here with Phil Buckle whom taught me a lot in the game. Thank you Keith Macdonald who I used to play with in my Swan days, a great player (played for england ) and run the Cambs league for a lot of years. Thank You Peter Grant whom has stayed loyal with us since I first started playing. This season I saw a huge improvement in his Bar Billiards and hopefully you can take that with you into the Winter. Thank You And last but most importantly my dad Mark George. Haha got your unbeaten record nah on a serious note if it wasn't for dad I wouldn't be playing Bar Billiards, he has supported me and guided me the best way possible and we are going to Jersey this year so hopefully I can pay him back with a fine performance in the pairs competition . Thank You
Next Monday I am playing a friendly at Burton Cons against the Exiles in Northampton, hopefully I will have a good game plus warm me up for the Winter League ahead. It will be new challenge, possibly a tougher one. But I am up for it

lMe and the Exiles look forward to seeing you Monday JG but if you go to Northampton we may not actually see you as Burton Cons is actually in Burton Latimer (the name Burton Cons is a bit of a clue ) and it's about time Rushden Cons got a decent player as some of them look a bit jaded
Anyhoo bring your wellies cos you will want to fit in with the locals and be warned cos some of us are quite capable of 2k breaks (present company excepted) so be prepared to be beaten severely especially if you win your game
Ps I presume you are taking the Place of Tiny cos he wos cr@p last week and only won cos I felt sorry for him

Good results all round. Mansfield lost to Barrow which cements Kettering in 2nd place and we move up several places. Stevenage also won, but at least it was at the expense of Luton.
1 Oxford United 35 2 Kettering Town 27 3 Stevenage Borough 26 4 AFC Wimbledon 23 5 Mansfield Town 23 6 York City 22 7 Tamworth 22 8 Luton Town 22 9 Kidderminster Harriers 21 10 Altrincham 21
Glad you had a good night Stew because tonight might be a bit depressing for you. How many goals do you think the Wombles will put past you?
Well, our first came after 2 minutes, but that's how it finished. Poppies also won (2-1) and Oxford Utd won 3-1.
Not quite how it should have finished i'm affraid, after our keeper gifted Wimbledon their goal and we missed a penalty and numerous other chance's. Away fans may have felt the ref was on our side a bit and i have to admit he did seem to give us some strange decissions our way. But if you don't take your chance's you don't get anything i spose. Fair play to kettering they are going good guns at the mo.!

I sense your softening towards Kettering Stew, nows the time to leave the dark side come over to the light and watch good football with a good atmosphere.

WHOOPS ! OFF TOPIC ! SORRY JG !
More concerned as to where Cambridge are Mind the home loss to Luton pretty much told me that Cambs are NOT going up
Glad to meet you too Jase, also met the "Machine" and GOD (no not our BB god) Tiny (damo) glad to meet you too, and very well played! and Herr von Puebik of course It would be a pleasure to meet you lot again as you were very friendly and fun. Though not too sure about the excessive pizza (what the hell)!
so I was wondering what you do about nicknames. Are they given or earned in Northants If given will their be some kind of nominations process

Nice to meet you JG Regarding the nicknames I think you will get one sooner rather than later As for the reasoning for them it is hard to say as it can be a bit random eg Jel is called the Barrel (cant think why) Chas is called God (maybe if he wins its a miracle) Damo is called Tiny (ask Trish ) PJ is called Pratnav (makes sense if you have followed his directions) ........etc etc Anyhoo hopefully we will see you again soon and as for your nickname watch this space..................
