Just to let you know Tony, we are playing our game against Bletchingdon next Tuesday. Our game tonight against Vikings has been re-scheduled because of the football. Was hoping to play tomorrow, but blooming bingo in the club >:( Hoping to play Friday, just waiting for confirmation.

Presentations will be on same night as Summer Singles semis and final as usual which I will arrange on my return and as soon as I know the combatants. Well done on TC win BTW! cheers Tony

Results 6.9.2011 Lamb & Flag 6 Royal Oak 0 Steve Walker 11030 - 600 Thomas Ellis-Rees Martin Friend 4390 - 770 Ray Ayres Tony Willis 11030 - 2970 Terry Cook Steve Walker 5980 - 3380 Thomas Ellis-Rees Martin Friend 1850 - 1130 Ray Ayres Tony Willis 3780 - 2820 Terry Cook
Last game of the summer and a good win for us. Exceptional score for Steve in the first and in my failed attempts to beat his score I managed to score exactly the same and then lose 8k in the last! It's good to see how well Ray has come on under Terry's tutelage even if his results don't reflect it. Thanks to everyone for a fine summer of billiards.... cheers Tony

I echo Barbelman's comments re the summer. I have enjoyed it. Many thanks to the afore mentioned exhalted member of this forum for administering it. I do however consider it unfortunate that, once again, some teams have arranged for outstanding fixtures to be played after the league has finished, particularly as, in this case, the reults are very likely to affect the trophy positions.

Jon In this day of diminishing teams, people to play in them, playing in multiple leagues, and long summer holidays, we do have to have a little flexibility. You do the teams involved a great disservice in doubting their integrity to play the games in the correct and competitive manner (which I know they will) It's the summer, chill out and please feel free to take over at the next AGM.... 8-) ;D cheers Tony PS It's the summer in name only I hasten to add - it's almost snowing out there! :-/

You do the teams involved a great disservice in doubting their integrity to play the games in the correct and competitive manner (which I know they will). Tony That is outrageous. There was absolutely no mention or inference in my post to justify the quoted statement. Not what one expects from a moderator of this forum. You should confine your comments to the facts of the post, rather than inject inflamatory statements which have no basis in fact and denigrate the character of innocent posters.

You should confine your comments to the facts of the post, rather than inject inflammatory statements which have no basis in fact and denigrate the character of innocent posters. Calm down Jon. It is not outrageous if you leave it in context - simply my interpretation of your implied criticism of my relaxed style of running the league, from which you have benefited on many previous occasions. Whether I am a moderator or not, I'm sure you will agree that I have to be allowed, as a member, to reply to that. I think you may have overreacted just a little here..... ;D There are many reasons why these games are not played as I said and much as I like everything to be finished on time, it seldom is, especially in the summer and I can assure you that I make every effort to get people to play them on time, but you know I will not award points to any teams without exhausting all other possibilities first. It is just unfortunate that in this particular instance it may have a possible but almost theoretical effect on the outcome of the Summer competition. If you were upset by the misinterpretation of my post then I apologise but I have to be seen to be even-handed to EVERYONE as Comp Sec. Please feel free to call me and discuss the matter if you feel it necessary. cheers Tony

Bletch B 2-4 Kennington SC
S Gillam 12,910 - 520 K Hollis P Collett 0 - 16,980 M Trafford E Wain 1510 - 2240 S Ponting Scott 2320 - 9560 Keith Pete 3690 - 7680 Mark Enid 2790 - 2190 Sid
Happy with that result. Keith not having much of a chance in the first with Scott getting 2 x 6k breaks. Keith then replying with a 5k and 4k break. I had a 6k & 10k break in the first and then getting a 7k break at the end of the game to win the 2nd. Enid and Sid's games were both close and could have gone either way. Sid missing the red in the 200 in the final game for a draw!
In the process of trying to get our game against the Vikings arranged.

Dear all Sorry this is a bit behind but it was a combination of a duff video card and a holiday that has caused the delay :( and ;D With just two games outstanding the league table is thus; P W D L Points Red Lion 14 9 3 2 58 Kennington SC 13 11 1 1 55 Lamb & Flag 14 8 4 2 51 Bletchington A 14 7 1 6 46 Bletchington B 14 4 5 5 39 Vikings SC 12 1 4 7 29 Royal Oak 13 2 2 9 26 Masons 14 1 2 11 20
The outstanding, postponed games are are Vikings v Royal Oak from Aug 9th (which I doubt will be played) and Kennington v Vikings from the last night of the season. You can see from the table above that it is essential that this last game is played as soon as possible as presentations and summer singles playoffs etc. cannot take place until the league is resolved. I would appreciate it if both teams would make a great effort to get this played as soon as possible within the next week. thanks Tony
