Well it was a grotty day weather-wise but a fine day of bar billiards. Thanks yet again to Jean and Alan for running the tournament and anyone else who helped - particularly Nigel (preparing tables with Alan, and for the programmes.) Good to see the Guernsey boys taking part, and also Harry and Jill from the 'other' island. ;D
This was the last eight lining up to play as we left to feed the cat, etc:
Dave France v Sir KT Dave Ingram v Lorin Clough Curt Driver v Ian Lelliott Kevin Hall v Steven Sheard
Looking forward to reading someone else's more detailed report !

Hi Tommo
I agree tommo, well done to all involved in the Sussex Open especially Jean, who spent too much time trying to find scorers.
This year was the worst its ever been, to all those who made themselves available without being gently coerced by Jean, well done. to all those who disappeared or looked the other way at the start of each series SHAME ON YOU especially senior players, you should all be setting a good example to the rest of us. >:(

To update Tommo's report...
Quarter-Finals Dave France lost to Sir KT Dave Ingram beat Lorin Clough Curt Driver beat Ian Lelliott Kevin Hall lost to Steven Sheard
Semi-Finals Sir KT beat Dave Ingram Curt Driver lost to Steven Sheard
Final Sir KT beat Steven Sheard
In an exciting Plate Final, Chris Reeves beat Geoff Powell potting the last ball in to the 200 hole to claim victory.... 8-)
Highest break of the day - SirKT (about 15.7k I think)
Congratulations to the winners and massive thanks to Jean, Alan, Nigel, Colin (usual lovely food) and all of the staff at the Roffey Club for their hard work and for helping to make the weekend such a success. 8-) ;)
Terrific to see the Guernsey contingent, superb company as always. ;D

Smashing day on our first visit to the Sussex Open and thanks to Jean, Alan and Nigel (and probably others) for the very special organisation. It is hard to imagine a better venue but you might have done something about the rain.... ;)
Well done to all the winners and runners-up, who came through on some interesting tables.
Thanks again everyone.
cheers Tony

Just to echo all the above and thank Lean and Alan for their hard work, the day would not go the way it does if they did not spend the time and effort. Well done to KT and commiserations to Steven, nice to see Chris there and a great effort to win the plate in such a dramatic way.
