Do we know who the captains are and if everyone is available? Obviously this was discussed at the Berks open according to.......... B side capt Kevin Godfrey A side capt will confirm shortly. Phil Collins has stood down and I was told that John Bamsey might be interested. Pete

I presume that Kevin is the B Captain and Jon will be the A Captain? ;)

There was some talk last night that Gary is not available for Sunday and that a reserve is coming straight into the A team? Surely this is not true? Surely they will go into the B team and someone from the B team moves up to the A team?

Mark, it looks as if that's true, as the teams at the top of this thread have been modified to include Ian Moss or Alan Oliver!!....so who is it going to be? Without showing disrespect to Alan or Ian they should not go straight into the "A" team, they should go in the "B" team with a player from that team moving up to the "A". This idea of keeping the "B" team the same as last year because they won Div 2 is totaly wrong IMHO. Keith

Keith Of course it is wrong, this is the biggest county competition and you should be selecting your best 7 players for the A team, regardless who any team have got on the previous year. What if the A team win it this year, does that mean Steven Sheard doesn't play next year?

For goodness sake you two ;D
I'm sure it is not beyond the intelligence of both captains to shuffle the teams a little on the day and especially at this late stage it is difficult to do anything 'official'. I'm sure that Jon and Kevin can sort out something between themselves.......
Best of luck to both teams on Sunday and I hope you all have a good day :)

Not a good day for our County teams, the "A" side finished 3rd I think and the "B" side were relegated back to Div 2. :(
A side stats.... Leon 4/5 Phil 2/5 Keith 2/5 Mark 2/5 (with a last game play out to take the highest break of the day award) 8-) Tony 2/5 Jon 1/5 Ian 1/5 (County debut)
The "A" team all had a lot to say before we started but Jon (A team captain) respected the decision of the County Secretary to not change the "B" team on the day and to put Ian straight into the "A" team.
I do hope that in future a team does not get kept the same just because they win a title the previous year, as the teams should be picked on merit.
I rest my case
Keith >:(
