With regards to the Singles and Plate.
Some major shocks, Terry Race, Keith Sheard, Phil Collins, Leon Beer, Steven Sheard & James Jeanne all out in the first round. Terry, Leon and Keith also falling at the first hurdle in the Plate as well, their weekend therefore ending very prematurely.
Doubles currently at the Quarter Final stage are in progress as I type, therefore an update will follow as soon as possible.
Many thanks Sean

Millward v Bisson in the main Sheard jnr v James Jeanne in the plate Two bipartisan finals, the best!! Jim in the final again!! Sav Steve Mariner was SO close, setting Graeme a target of 11k+ on a weekend where there's been few BIG breaks, but beheld his nerve to pass the target with 3 minutes to spare. He'll have to change his Forum name now, of course, from "3-Times-Champ". ;) Well done to Jim and good to see his back still standing up to the task. Graham Bisson is a very worthy runner-up, especially after his health scare last year.
Prediction: "I did it My Way" for Jim now on the karaoke. ;D

Champs, Gary and Stormin made an early exit from Merton and managed to get on 8.15am flight back to Guernsey. Have had a lot worse flights and it was sunny when we landed in Guernsey ;D 8-) Champs earning Brownie points as he can now visit Midwife for routine check up with his other half this lunchtime. Good job she was not on flight as baby Champette could have arrived early ::) Thanks to the J.B.B.A, the sponsors and The Merton for putting on a first class event once again. As Arnie said "We'll be back"........... Congratulations to all the winners and to those who were more interested in increasing the bar takings once they got knocked out. Hope to see you all again soon. ;)

Cornish bar billiards league have now arrived at Plymouth Back to civilisation, eh, Q ? Looks like the high-speed catamaran back from Jersey has been cancelled: quote:Monday 8th November 2010
The weather forecast has deteriorated further overnight and a result today's High Speed service from Weymouth to the Channel Islands and return will no longer call at Jersey.
All Day Trips are cancelled today.........................so it's the overnight chug-chug to Pompey for anyone sailing back! ::)

Home from a fantastic weekend at the Merton Hotel...... 8-)
Many congratulations to Jim Millward on winning the 2010 Spearpoint World Championship..... clearly he will have to change his forum name to 4 Times Champ now. ;D Commiserations to Graham Bisson who played brilliantly to give us such a tremendous Final, also to the losing semi-finalists Steve Mariner and Trevor Gallienne.
Steven Sheard made a superb 16,840 break in the Plate Final to beat James Jeanne, who was unfortunate to lose the 10k break he was on in a terrific reply....... and Steven also won the Doubles with Keith, beating Curt Driver and Mark Brewster in the Final.
As always, the tables provided by Nigel Ryall and his helpers were very good and the hard work put in by Sean, Graeme, Josie and Dave Jones at the Admin Desk ensured that scorers and players got to the tables on time to ensure that everything went without a hitch, while Michelle ensured that everybody parted with plenty of money on the football cards in her own unique way....... ;)
The Merton is a lovely hotel and a superb venue for the flagship event of the year..... looking forward to next year already. ;D ;D ;D
