I know it is a while away but just to let you all know that flights are available, just got ours for £70.00 each which is pretty good I think. Flybe from Gatwick.
Obviously if the dates change for the tournament I will have wasted my money but thats the gamble. :)

Richard i did the same for the Montral team start of this month. Friday to Monday. I told Chis Reeves about the flybe deal at the quiz night. Booked the hotel as well at £22 a night.

De Normandie.
That's the deal that has been done for KBBA, so I presume they are offering it generally.

Graeme Le Monnier has just issued a note covering hotels and including entry forms for the Individual and pairs competitions. Entry forms for the individuals to be in before 21October but pairs will be limited to 64 pairs on a first received basis

Hello to you all, As many of you are aware the entry forms for the 2007 World Championship in November have been sent out to those whose address's were passed onto me, and hopefully these people can pass on copies. An alternate method of get hold of the forms are to download them from the Jersey Bar Billiards League website: www.studio18.co.uk/jbbl/just follow the link If you still have trouble send me a private message and I will forward them to you at your email address. Any queries either Sean or myself will try to find the answers. Hope to see many familiar, and new, faces in November Graeme Le Monnier JBBL President

Evening All,
Myself and Graeme have just finished up a meeting at the Ommaroo and a question has been raised which I myself can't answer.
For those of you that were there last year you will know that there was a ramp on the middle stairs which led up to the Reception area. As far as I am aware quite a few people, including the impaired found this inconvieniently steep. Unfortunately we can't change the steepness of the ramp due to the area being quite small, however, we can remove the ramp completely.
Can I please have your feedback and the majority 'vote' will decide what happens to it.
Also, on another note, Graeme issued a letter with the entry forms which mentioned the Laurels as a possible Hotel to stay at. Unfortunately, the Laurels isn't owned by Seabird Hotels anymore so they do not know anything about the special deal. The Ommaroo however are now virtually fully booked (only a couple of double rooms left) but they have agreed to contact the Normandie and arrange for the special rates to be still given to you.
Any further questions on any of the tournament or just general queries then please do either PM me or send me an e-mail: slebeuvant@yahoo.co.uk
Cheers and see you all in 8-9 weeks. Sean Secretary -J.B.B.L.

I for one did not notice any problems with the ramp. It also makes it easier not spilling a pint carrying a round of drinks, not having to worry about missing a step or finding the next step.

Kev I cannot believe you spill drinks, and let the liquid hit the floor before catching it.

Evening All,
Haven't had any replies regarding the issue if the ramp. It is important that the issue is resolved fairly so all feedback is needed. Did people use the ramp or would they preferably see it removed and see the stairs only to reception?
Cheers all Sean

Well you did get one reply, Sean, about the ramp - and it was from the BB Reaper who thought it a good precaution against spilling drinks. And as my drink might be amongst those on his tray, then I'm all in favour as well. ;D

Problem is if you ditch the the ramp, you only want one 'Differently Abled' with a wheelchair and you have a major issue.
Better safe than sorry, or make sure it is still available.

A serious answer and a wise one. Seconded.
If there was a problem last year it was concerning the dust covers which the hotel had installed over their plush carpets. In places they were riding up, and you had to be very careful not to trip up.

Therefore the dust covers were probably to protect carpets against fag ends. This should not be an issuse this November.

If the ramp benefits even 1 less-able person then I would be happy to accept the ramp and without knowing who would need it I think it best to install it just in case. It would be helpful if even one forum user said they needed it and if a non-member wishes to post please start a thread in the guest section (Non-Members Forum)
The floor covering was certainly an issue and would hope it is not fitted OR fitted really well so that it withstands 3days of heavy use.

Morning All,
The major consensus is that the ramp needs to remain which is fair enough and not an isue at all. Therefore I shall insure that the ramp remains in place for the forthcoming year.
The carpet issue will not be a problem this year as this year we will not have smoking in the hotel and as stated in a previous post 'the hotel won't have to protect their plush carpet'. We won't therefore have a dust sheet down which will ride up everywhere!!
Thanks all for the quick response to my second post, I shall insure that all is done for everybody to enjoy their weekend.
Cheers Sean
