Well again we all had a chance but could not grab it. Phil is not playing as good as he did last year, if he did he could win. Me I cut about six inches of my cue last week and when I tried it on Monday I did not like it. The problem with my game at the moment is the one up, and double. If I can master this part of the game I could put some serious scores up. But after playing tonight I think with practice I could play a decent game again. Neil started well but had the same problem as me with the one up. Reg, well I was expecting him to beat my score, but alas not. Poor Jenny, her nerves got the better of her tonight, could have been me saying she had to beat my score, which is something I look forward to. ;) Hey Kev the dinosaurs are back I top scored again. :o

Didcot Con Club 3 - 2 Masons B S Florey 8940-80 P Light D Atkins 80-13960 C Webb D Tooke 0-5350 A Webb J Abbott 5910-820 M Skyrme M Trafford 11380-1340 D Bott
Stuart went in with a solid 7k Chris Webb then played well, scoring with breaks of 3k, 4k & 6k. Dave done his usual trick of losing a 7.5k break - next week he is tapping off at 6.9k !!!! ;) Jenny went in with an excellent 5k to open up. I then went in with 7.5k after my opponent missed early. Then scored another 3k. A win in the end, but could have been better.

Well done on your score Mark. How much longer can Oxon ignore you ? Is the D. Atkins in your team Dennis ?
I see you play for a Con Club at Didcot. Then there's the Burton Cons and the Rushden Cons in Northants. And my team has just moved to the South Park Con Club in Reigate. I've signed up as a member and by paying an extra £3 can now visit any Con Club in the country with full membership rights. A trend seems to be developing........Could it be with Con Clubs, therein lies the future of bar billiards ?

You may be right tommo, Con Clubs are the way forward ;D Maybe you should come up for a game one day. They have line dancing on a Thursday aswell :o ;D

Pauline's game looked like a good one, what happened during that game ? Pauline came off early, Bob got a couple of breaks to put him about 6,000 up, Pauline got the break back with about 5 min's left and finished it off, but did not work the scores out or ask the marker the situation, so lost the game that she could have won. Silly girl. :( ;) ::) :-[ I will be in trouble with her now. :-*

And my team has just moved to the South Park Con Club in Reigate. From my misty recollection, DC once told me that this was the South Park Constitutional Club! Who is right, you or him or both?

Oxford also has the Headington Cons Club, and Clive would LOVE to play bingo there every week, I am certain

From my misty recollection, DC once told me that this was the South Park Constitutional Club! Who is right, you or him or both? All three of us, and before you say it, no it's not a 'Con'. Presumably Didcot/Rushden/Burton are all Conservative clubs, and ours is too despite the slightly different terminology. You should have seen Dave Snashfold's face at our induction meeting when he found out ! :o he just thought it meant "a place to go to for a quick constitutional" ::)
