Swan B 5 - 1 Locomotive
Obviously because Mr Hampton was playing us, I gave him the result card but forgot to write a copy down to post on here!
So from memory these are rough scores too (sorry if any of it is incorrect):
Pete H 2200 - 1700 P.Clifford Chris O 5480 - 3200 P.Olver Pete B 790 - 2500 D.Hampton Enzo 4630 - 3500 P.Simmonds Chris & Enzo 5100 - 2000 P.Olver & D.Hampton Pete & Pete 5890 - 1500 P.Simmonds & P.Clifford
5-1 to the underdogs.
Pete started the game off well for us beating Cider Paul, a hard working game for the scores they got, the cushions on the swan are totally different now so it left Pete and Paul trying to clear up balls behind the 30 pockets but the usual off the cushion shot threw high both sides so both players missed this shot a few times until they realised it throws differently. In the end Pete had enough to finish of Paul who was really unlucky with nothing sinking for him. 1-0 Mustard Chris up next in good pre-jersey form which is nice to see. Chris got an early break of 5k but was annoyed he didn't get more but was more than enough to see off Paul who started coming back at the end but admitted Chris did play well. 2-0 Pete B had a shocker next against Mr.Hampton. Again, both players stuggled to get a few thousand on the tricky top but Pete couldn't get to grips with it so Dave put in some hard work to get his score and leave Pete for dead. 2-1 Enzo up last looking to make the draw before the doubles. I was off far too early with only a 2 or 3k break, leaving the chase on early. I plucked away getting a few thousand more but this nearly wasn't enough as I was being chased down with several breaks in the thousands. Fortunately the bar dropped and my opponent couldn't get enough to win. 3-1 The dream team in doubles went up first against Paul O and Dave H. I scored an average amount in my visits but Chris took charge early on and carried on his form from the singles with another 3/4k break or so. This left Paul & Dave with a little too much work to do and not a lot of time to do it! Lets just hope we play this well in together in Jersey! 4-1 Pete & Pete needn't win the last game but they were out for bragging rights, Pete Brown decided to change his gameplay from the singles and it paid off, scoring at least 5 times what he did in the singles. Therefore they closed out the 5-1 win over the Loci boys.
Great night, good laugh, a few spoilsports complaining I'm a little loud.. Me? Not at all?? :) Maybe I could've dropped a few decibels quieter but as Cider Paul agreed, I'm out for a good laugh when I play bar billiards rather than being silent like a library and being serious on the games. Good banter fired both ways and a good general play by the Swan lot, hopefully this is the start of our charge and we've done our hard losing games and now have the rest of the season to claw back points!
