THE HEADLAND STORM ARE ALL DISTRAUGHT AT THE LOSS OF ONE OF OUR FRIENDS AND VALUABLE TEAM MEMBERS. WE WANT TO PASS ON OUR CONDOLENCES TO HIS FAMILY AND OUR BEST WISHES DURING THIS TERRIBLE SAD TIME. I never got to meet Gerry personally but felt I got to know him through the Forum. He was our reigning Quiz Champion, and also used to do table investigations for our AEBBA Map. He will be greatly missed. This is indeed a great shock, he was no age really, and our thoughts and condolences go to his family at this very, time. tommo

That has certainly came as a shock, i only heard yesterday that he was not very well but did not realise how serious it was.
He will be greatly missed in our league, he was full of character and a fun person to be around.
My thoughts are with all his family and close friends.

This is a day indeed as we've lost a great Billiards player and one of the biggest characters of the Northants league. Me and Gerry had a few personal battles on the baize, over the past few season's and he always used to remind me the current score. Was disappointed that he didn't play a couple of weeks ago when we played the Storm in the league. RIP Gerry, gone but not forgotten.

May I echo these sentiments from all at The Fox Inn.
It was always a pleasure to see Gerry at games; his sense of humour and infectious enthusiasm for the game was a credit to him, his team and our league.
His passion for our league to be a success was most recently exemplified by his desire to secure a second team for the county championships. Whilst he will not be around to see it, I hope we shall not lose sight of this and secure a team for next time, in his memory.
He will be greatly missed by us all.
Gerry, may you rest in peace.

Stunned. We have lost, as everyone has said already, a true gent. A right canny player of the game too, in my few years up here someone I loved to play against and respected simply for the way he was. It's hard to believe.

Terribly sad news. Thoughts are with Gerry's family and friends.
Gerry played the game with great passion and was an absolute credit to himself and his team.
He was always so friendly and won or lost with equal dignity.
Suggest the next league games start with a minutes silence to show our respect to Gerry.

Dreadful news. I always thought Gerry had a great attitude to the game, he seemed to love the game and played to win but he also had a laugh while doing it. RIP Gerry, you will be missed.

So sorry to hear this terrible news. Gerry was a true gentleman and an exceptional player for one that had taken up the game so recently.
I remember watching him play the Headland table out for exactly 10,000 using every hole on the board. I was so pleased for him afterwards. (Even though I didn't get a go :))
The Headland team send their sincere condolences to his family.
We have lost a good friend and a truly nice person.
Mick.

I think it would also be nice to if possible name a trophy in his memory as he did enjoy playing and everyone enjoyed playing him.

Last night I gave copies of all the messages that have been left on here to Gerry's son Robert. He was overwelmed by the number of messages left and said could I pass on his thanks to all who have sent such kind words.
