Presidents Cup Quarter-final (played at the Frenches Club)
Merstham VC B 1, South Park Con Club B 4
Gary Powell 2460, Josie 8910 Derek Powell 2220, Dave Snashfold 4820 Paul Reece 2480, BB Reaper 2470 Jan Taylor 3250, Paul Trottman 7620 Frank Doyle 370, tommo 9250
Well it was all over by the time tommo went on, captain Trotters having saved him the ignominy of a double-legged decider which are usually tense affairs.
The third game was a battle royal between the youngsters - Paul Reece playing every shot on the table and eventually coming a cropper with a whip onto a peg at just under 8k. Kevin's opening break then looked as if it might be enough, but somehow Paul managed 800 with the bar gone - including a delicate cut for 400 - and potted the last 100 to win by 10. Fair game to him.
So now in the Semi-final we will play our 'A' team (who beat the Holland Club 3-2), which guarantees a team from South Park in the Final.

Ian. my opening break was short just over 2k, and couldnt do anything after that, paul was deffinatly after pay back after i put 7k past him on the sunday. Bar Billiards to me is 70% skill and 30% luck, unfortunatly for me i had neither.
well done to the rest of the team and also a fantastic win for josie on the night snatching the first leg comfortably :D

Yes I should have mentioned the role of the laydees in this match. Josie seems to like the Frenches' table- she beat Jukesy on it earlier in the season. And she got us off to the best possible start against Gary Powell who has been awesome for Redhill A every time he's played. His sister Jan Taylor is a former England champion and had lost her voice, was dosed up with Ibuprofen and looked in a bad way. But our own Paul was on payback too - she had put 8k past him on the Merstham club table only a couple of weeks ago. Never mind BB Reaper, it made a nice change for you to be the only loser for our team instead of the other way round. ;) ;D

Could this be the same Josie that puts up posts saying I'm not as good as all you Redhill people I don't think so :D :D I would agree with BB Reaper with his 70% 30% but I would throw in another 25 % for confidence & yes I know thats more than 100% but all are vital parts in any BB game. WELL DONE Josie. Ian.

President’s Cup Competition – Semi-Final. Played on Tuesday 17th April 2007 @ the Limes, Merstham
South Park Con Club B spoiled their 'A' string's party and it will be they instead of the A's who will face the Flying Scud in the Final of the President's Cup. For the A's there remains a date with the Scud in the other Team Cup Final (the "Bill Burwood") . It must be said that the B's made the best of a slightly tricky table, rattling off the first three games. Josie was reserve for the night, but it is likely will make the Final line-up.
South Park CC B 4, South Park CC A 1
tommo 4860, Laurie Roberts 3420 Paul Trottman 5460, Jimmy Greensted 2130 Dave Snashfold 5930, Andy Finn 1330 John Turner 70, Pat Smither 8810 BB Reaper 3660, Vernon Sparkes 1120

I am reliably informed that South Park A won the Bill Burwood Cup, beating the Flying Scud 3-2 in the Final at Merstham VC on Sunday.
The Scud were able however to wreak their revenge on South Park B in the Final of the Presidents Cup tonight at Reigate Ex-Servicemen's SC. Tommo's fine season came to an abrupt end in the fourth game: Simon Tinto lost his opening break of 4k, tommo replied with a kept break of 3k, Simon levelled on his next visit and tommo, left with a relatively easy 30 shot, failed to clear. Simon then put the match beyond reach with another break of 4k.
South Park CC B 2, Flying Scud 3
Josie Pitt 4510, Colin Robbins 7500 BB Reaper 820, Geoff Jukes 12,970 Dave Snashfold 6260, Jason Wadsworth 6230 tommo 4250, Simon Tinto 7120 Paul Trottman 3370, Chris Jukes 1660
Well done to the Scud for a League/Cup Double.
