Handcross Z v Windmill
What was it you said the other week, Q ? Oh woe is us, we lost 1-4 ? Well, snap ! :o
Handcross Z 1, Windmill (B/H) 4.
John Turner 1360, John Slatcher 2090 tommo 2150 :( , Mike White 3100 Barry Timson 4710, Janie White 400 Johnny Haigh 2150, Steve Smith 2750 Alan Downs 2270, Russell Jennings 2560
The Windmill lads were well worth the points, played far better than the scores suggest as points were very difficult to come by on the H/X table which has become very whippy since it's been moved. Somehow playing on the White Horse table next week does not seem such a daunting prospect after all ! ;)

Tommo. It's got nothing to do with the table being moved, see interleague scores for proof. It has always changed at random it could be something to do with the weather ??? It can be very frustrating. Ian. :)

Plough 3 Handcross SC 2 Boy was I glad I agreed to play first, I was drawn last but Malcolm wanted to leave early so we swapped. I went on to win with 4800. Good scores by Keith Potter 5000 & Des Gasson 4000. it went to 2 all & by then the table had changed. so it was Chris Kirkham V Steve Whyte. It was Steve who played his usual consistent game & won the match. :( :( When Q & I played a friendly after, the break became very hard I even managed to get the white in the 100 hole.

Courtesy - Roy Wells Oh how are the mighty fallen ! Greyhound showed a dip in their recent good form when going down to Kleiners and the Keymer Legion. Chris Watson started well, putting the current league leaders one up but this was soon cancelled out by the big hitting Ted Stringer. Kleiners then took all of the remaining legs with wins for Dilly Williamson, Jenny Edwards and Derek Taylor. This win moves the home side to the top of division 1. Fortunately for Greyhound, the Zeds also showed a loss of form, playing the Windmill on the Handcross table. Jon Slatcher and Mike White won the first two legs for the visitors before Barry Timson stopped the slide for the Zeds. All to no avail as Steve Smith and Russell Jennings won the last 2 and the match to move them off the bottom of the premier. After an explosive start to the league season, the A Team is finding it difficult to put in a winning performance. They went to the Plough and found themselves 3 down with wins for Steve Whyte, Keith Potter and Geoff Parsons. Paul Jobbins took the fourth leg for the visiting side before Ian Giffen put in his side’s best effort to claim the last. Saints got a good result away to the Droops. Chris Little and Mick Joplin quickly put the away side 2 up before that old Scots pine, Richard Jeffrey, stood tall to take the third and avoid a route. It didn’t put Saints off however as they came back with wins from Peter Geal in the fourth and a big hit from Shaun Morris to take the last. The bottom sides in the league battled it out at the Staplefield venue and a win for the Vees moves them to just one point behind the White Horse in the table. In a match that wasn’t decided until the last leg was won, the visitors’ John Ruffle took the first leg before Gary Foster grabbed one back. White Horse took the lead once more when Colin Mansfield won a third game only to see Pam Peacock get her first win of the season to put the home side again on level terms. Ros Appleby was involved in another captain’s leg and came out on top to get the match and four much needed points.
