Played like heroes tonight: Short of two key players, one more making a dash down from Coventry to make it for the match, and taking on the League Leaders on the back of two bad 1-4 defeats. And we won. The captain is very pleased.
Handcross 'Z' 3, Greyhound, Keymer 2
MrMike007 3970, Peter Burchell 510
Barry Timson 3550, Chris Watson 3100
John Turner 1560, Paul Goodwin 2340
tommo 5540, Neil Burchell 910
margo 890, Trevor Rees 3150
It should be added that the conditions at the club were less than desirable. Behind us a Pool Cup match was taking place and anyone cueing up was in perpetual fear of being jogged. The Pool match sounded cut-throat and at one stage two players squared up to each other, voices were raised, and the players were told to take their argument outside to the car park.
It is a relief to be involved in the gentlemen's game known as bar billiards where everyone behaves in a civilised manner.

Thought Q would have put this one up. Brewers Droops 2 Handcross SC 3. All games went with break. Dazza giving us a heart attack binning a 2000 break close to the bar but managed to hold of no cd who was recovering from an op on his ear. Hope you make a good recovery Jock. Ian. 8-)

Ian. 8-) Yes I forgot about Jock's Op, for those that don't know he was having the top off a bottle of Jack Daniels removed from his ear, following his attempts to chat up the Polish bar maid at the Landmark.....that's what happens when her 'girlfriend' was there too ;D ;D ;D Hope you can hear me 'Mute' or should that be mate ;D

One of the main reasons we are looking for a new venue, I hope the table played OK, I had to re-level it on Sunday as it had been moved - TWICE???? Once, pushed back to the radiator so the light was over the 'baulk' and 2nd time skewed round in an anticlock direction, presumably to move some stuff from the far side. Not much joy on venues yet, but we're still trying.

From Roy Wells as normal (except he doesnt email it to me anymore :'( Plough pushed themselves to the top of the pile this week following a good home win against a lacklustre Hurst side. Roy Wells took the opening leg to put Hurst one up then watched as the next four went to the home side with wins for Mark Webber, Steve Whyte, Keith Potter and Geoff Parsons. Despite losing this week’s match, Greyhound still keep themselves in touch with the top, 2 points behind and a game in hand. Paul Goodwin put the visitors ahead before Zeds took the next three with wins for Barry Timson, Mick Holmwood and big hitting Clive Thompson. A valuable late point was won by Trevor Rees in the last leg. Kleiners extended their lead at the top of division 1 with a whitewash at home against the Watermill. Straight wins here then for Paul Moyes-Robb, Jenny Edwards, a big hit from Peter Edwards, and wins for Ted Stringer and Derek Taylor. Watermill now find themselves just one place off the bottom. Whilst still the bottom club, the Vees moved closer to their nearest rivals with a welcome home win against a depleted Saints side. The visitors went two up with wins for Chris Little and Mick Joplin. Gary Foster took the third for the home side before Pam Peacock, in her comeback season, grabbed the fourth to even the tie. Ros Appleby was given a walkover and 4 valuable points were in the bag. The Droops move up the table despite a home defeat against Handcross S C. Bernie Lawrance put the A Team into the lead after winning the first leg but things were evened up with a win for Colin Humphrey in the next. Ian Giffen put the visitors back into the lead only to see Adam Bateup make it all square. Dazza Skinner then took the last to ensure they stayed on terms with the Zeds in joint third place. The three point gap between the bottom sides in the premier remained the same as Windmill lost at home to the White Horse. The visitors took the first three legs and the match with wins for Brian Coleman, John Ruffle and Colin Mansfield. Steve Smith saved the brush when taking the fourth leg but White Horse took the last with a good performance from Dave Ingram. This win pushes Horse into second place in division 1.

Hurst plared there rearranged match last night against Watermill.
Hurst Club 3 watermill 2.
Water mill only turned up with 3 players. Roy Wells and Rob Hall losing the first 2 legs But i just managed to scrape a point in the third against the break. all 3 games were scrappy and could have gone in any direction.
