I hope you were luckier with the food than we were tonight: two plates of chopped up sausages, chips and onion rings. not what I'd really call ten pounds' worth. :(
Anyway, a nervy victory for the Z's tonight, probably with one eye on "the big match" next week. ;)
Handcross Z 3, Watermill 2.
J.Haigh 990, J.Willis 2700 tommo 4950, C.Nikolaj 1360 MrMike007 3970, A.White 1950 A.Downs 4910, K.Stenning 2150 B.Timson 750, N.Cragg 2230
The Watermill gave a spirited performance, especially as, apart from Norman, they all appear to be new players. MrMike007's mastery of the 50 pockets proved to be the deciding factor as he was the only player to win against the break.

CKRBL 3 Hurst Club 2
All matches had scores below 3k apart from when Mr Taylor put 6k past me in the third match.

White Horse 4 Greyhound 1
2500 Highest score
We have only lost two matches this season both on tables set up to make the normal break shot virtually impossible. Maybe this is a deliberate tactic.

Actually Greyhound have lost 3 matches but the handcross table is not included in my moan.
We beat the Victory 3 2 in the rearranged fixture. An excellent away performance by the Vs making us work very hard for the narrow win.

Welcome Trevor, Great to have you on the forum.
You boys are going great guns this year, and we saw glimpses of your potential last year - especially in the Charity Cup on our table !
Not having it all our own way for once !

Report from Roy Wells (now with my correct email address), and a BIG welcome to Trevor from me. Bernie During the week, Greyhound played their match in hand against the Vees and won 3-2. This included a home break of 10410 for Trevor Rees and put Greyhound on top of the premier. It was short lived however, as a trip down the road to the White Horse ended in an emphatic win for the home side. They took the first two legs thanks to John Ruffle and Brian Coleman. The visitors stopped the rush when Paul Goodwin won the third. But that was to be their best as Ian Turner and Colin Mansfield wrapped it up for the Horse who moved closer to the division 1 leaders, The Plough moved back onto the top of the pile with a good home win over the Droops. They took the first four legs with wins for Mark Webber, Geoff Parsons, Keith Potter and Des Gasson. Allan Humphrey took away Steve Whyte’s 100% win performance when he took the last leg to save the brush. Kleiners stay top of division 1 thanks to a home win against the Hurst Club. The visitors started with a win for Roy Wells before Ted Stringer pulled the home side level and Derek Taylor hit big to put them into the lead. Pete Hall levelled things up by taking the next and the decider was won by Kleiner’s captain, Peter Edwards. The A Team moved a point above the Zeds after an strong win at the Victory. The Vees’ skipper, Ros Appleby played a captain’s part by winning the first but her troops were unable to follow her lead as Handcross won the next four with legs going to Chris Kirkham, Bernie Lawrance, Dazza Skinner and Ian Giffen. The Zeds were at home to the Watermill and were taken by surprise by a good start from John Willis. They got to grips with it in the next three legs with wins for Clive Thompson, Mick Holmwood and Alan Downs. The visitors grabbed another valuable point with a win in the last for stormin’ Norman Cragg. Saints pushed themselves nearer to the leading two in division 1 with a comprehensive win away to the Windmill. No details available at this time.

I dont write it - I just publish it (on seconds thoughts perhaps I should proof read them first).
What the heck, you've only won 11 more games than us and there still 12 to go.... AND OF COURSE we are one place higher up the table than you ;D
Roll on tomorrow.

Maybe in a Donkey Derby its the nag out in front that wins, but in a race of thoroughbreds, it's the one that comes through on the stand rails or on the outside to snatch victory............ (Ew-aw points, I think, and maybe a belated tart point for the word 'snatch' ? ;D) Bring it on ! 8-)
