Handcross Z 4, Brewers Droops 1
Barry Timson 3680, Colin Humphrey 2760
John Turner 4350, Adam Bateup 2860 (see Kipling thread)
MrMike007 1390, Alan Humphrey 0 (b/p)
tommo 4900, Sir Jock of the Strap 0 (b/p)
Johnny Haigh 3460, Andy Farmer-Wright 5440
A break from the norm for the beleaguered Zeds: Barry won a close first game, and John Turner showed an improvement in form to put us two-up. MrMike007 then struggled as he has done so far throughout the season: lacking in match practice, we all know what he is capable of and only one good score is needed to restore his confidence. On this occasion the result was only secured courtesy of his young opponent felling the black with the last shot to win.
It was then tommo vs his Jersey room-mate and after an early mistake tommo was soon a thousand behind as Sir Jock o' the strap threatened to whip his butt. But tommo dug deep and Jock would have lost by about a thousand had he not toppled the black at the end.
In a spirited last game Andy F/W threatened to run the table out but came unstuck, losing a good opening break. He was able to re-establish, though, and Johnny Haigh did well to make 3k in the short time allotted to him.
The sandwiches were non-existent due to an "administrative error" - put another way, tommo forgot to reserve them in the club's diary. As a token gesture and by way of an apology we collected the sandwich money anyway and handed it over to the opponents for a round of drinks. The least we could do in the circumstances, and I would respectfully suggest, a useful precedent for others. ;)

Greyhound 5 Watermill 0
The watermill minus Norman (still on holiday in Goa lucky devil) picked us on a good night. A comfortable win for the home team with all five scoring over 4000, hope we can keep this sort of form for a while. It was nice for me to get a win after losing three in a row!

A good evening was had at the White Horse, Bernie & John took the first 2 for the visitors before the home side came back to grab the last 3. Final result White Horse 3-2 Handcross SC
Saddest thing was that although the table was VERY uphill and had numerous rolls, left & right, the home players reckoned it was playing the best it has done for ages :o :o ::) :o :o

Windmill 0 Hurst Club 5
Lyn Storr 1540 Played Boball 1690 Jon Slatcher 1350 Played Mummy Hall 2510 Andre Layzell 1130 Played BB REAPER 3360 Steve Smith 250 Played Father Hall 2990 Russell Jennings 1110 Played Roy Wells 2080
Was a Fantastic evening over the windmill table best in the league completely true no rolls, shame about the short clock. was running between 12 and 14 and half minutes. was informed on the night that they were getting tarrets in the next day to get table running a normal time. Also a must try the Landlords Sweet Chillie Sauce. but a warning not for the faint hearted as young boball found out.
