Grey Hound 3 Hurst Club 2 Paul Goodwin 3450 V Father Hall 5460 Neil Burchell 7090 V Roy Wells 710 Trevor Rees 4500 V Kevin Hall 1240 Chris Watson BLACK PEG V Mummy Hall 3240 Peter Birchell 3450 V Boball 1480
It was a great evening down the Greyhound even though we lost.
Father Hall taking the first leg with a 3k break on the last few minutes on the table.
Roy Wells strugled whilst Neil had a fantastic game.
Myself with the break which i lost early missing the ball over hanging the 30 pocket. really struggled. Trevor not playing his best managed to secure the 2nd win.
Mummy took the third leg a very close game.
Unfortunatly Boball also lost his opening break picking off the black peg going up the table letting Peter go on with i think a 4k opening break.
Well done Greyhound

Captain tommo demanded a performance from his ailing side and got one tonight; played poorly deliberately and then said - there -that's a target for you - I've made a pig's ear of it, now go and show me up. And helped by a Handcross table which was more benign than usual, they rallied well. Scant consolation for the gallant visitors, I know, but the food provided was the most appetising yet this season.
Handcross Z 5, Victory 0
Barry Timson 5880, Trevor Appleby 1880 tommo 3580, Tony Driver 1530 MrMike007 5120, Gary Foster 2120 Alan Downs 5860, Gordon 'nose in cleavage' Brett 910 John Haigh 2600, Charlady 2280
It should be added that Alan Downs missed the chance of a five-figure score by 'downing' as many points as he managed to keep !
Other results from the evening from a very good authority (Roy)are as follows: Greyhound 3, Hurstpierpoint Club 2; St Francis 4, Handcross A 1 Watermill 4, Plough 1
.........which leaves the Premier League table reading thus :
Greyhound P 15 W 11 L 4 Pts 59 Handcross Z P 15 W 10 L 5 Pts 53 Handcross A P 15 W 8 L 7 Pts 50.5 Plough P 14 W 8 L 6 Pts 49 Hurst SC P 15 W 7 L 8 Pts 45 Windmill P 14 W 3 L 11 Pts 22.5 With just seven matches left in the programme, the pace is hotting up !

Good win Tommo, will it come down to Handcross V Handcross to decide out of the 2 of us who fights the Greyhound. Our fight for the top took a temporary set back last night, it started well with Chris taking the opener then we all lost after that :'( :'( :'( Ian.

Its the news..... from Roy Greyhound marginally lengthened their lead at the top with a home win against Hurst not knowing the changes going on behind them. Peter Hall put in a solid display to put the visitors ahead .but the best performance of the evening by Neil Burchell brought it back to all square. Trevor Rees put the current leaders in front but a win for Hurst skipper Lorraine Hall even things out once again. A captain’s game from Peter Burchell in the last saw the points go to Greyhound. Zeds leapfrogged two sides to go into second place with a whitewash over the Vees at Handcross. The first four legs went to the home side in worthy fashion with wins for Barry Timson, Clive Thompson, Mick Holmwood and Alan Downs. Johnny Haigh took the last leg by a narrow margin from battling Ros Appleby. The A Team slipped down to third place, losing away to Saints. Handcross’s Chris Kirkham won the first for the visitors only to see the home side take the remaining legs with wins for Mick Joplin, Matt Geal, Chris Little and Shaun Morris. The bonus points earned by Saints lifted them into second place in division 1. Plough drop a place after a bad result away to Watermill who grabbed the first two legs thanks to Adey White and Chris Nikolaj. Geoff Parsons stopped the rush with a win in the third but the remaining two legs went to Watermill with wins for John Willis and Trevor Greenyer. Kleiners find themselves on top of division one by a slender margin but with a game in hand after this week’s away match at The Windmill. Jenny Edward and Derek Taylor won the first two games before Mike White won the all important third leg. All to no avail as Kleiners mopped up with wins for Ted Stringer and Peter Edwards to take the match and all those lovely bonus points. From first place to third in just one week was White Horse’s fate even though they won at home against The Droops. Andy Farmer-Wright and Colin Humphrey put the Brewers into a two nil lead before the home side got a grip of themselves and run in the last three with wins for Ian Powell (and that doesn’t happen very often), John Ruffle, and a true captain’s game from Brian Coleman to win the match.
