Limes Triples 2012 (now known as the Maurice Oliver Triples) - Saturday 30th June.
This is a fun competition, held annually at the Limes, South Merstham (great pub) for Redhill League members and a limited number of special guests. (To find the Limes, once you go under the bridge turn right down Albury Road rather than straight on/left to St Nick's School)
The entry is hopefully 48, and for the Draw beforehand every name goes into a hat for either Pool A, Pool B or Pool C dependent on skill level. Each of the 16 Triples thus drawn at random is put into one of four groups, and you play against the other 3 triples in your group, then there's quarterfinals, semifinals and the grand Final. And of course a Plate competition.
The C-rated player in the combi has 1st break in first prelim game, the B player first go in the 2nd game and the A player goes first in the 3rd game. At all times 3000 is the maximum break, if you go over you not only lose the break but have to wear a dunce's/jester's/donkey/clown's hat until someone else does similar or has a black peg to take it off you.
Always a great day with lots of see-sawing in fortune (and ee-awing !) and the inevitable great banter.
Colin Robbins has asked me to publicise this event, and as of today there are still about 10 slots left, this will be filled on a first-come first-served basis: if not already in the competition you can notify your interest on here.
Additional entrants: Ros Appleby

If you are opening it up to 'outsiders' and you still have space, I would very much like to join in please.

Thanks Ros,
You're in. 8-) Just turn up on the day.
We already have quite a few from Mid Sussex taking part this year, so the more the merrier. Also, trying to cast the net a bit wider - Tunny Wells and Pompey players will also be welcomed if interested.....

According to Dave Alder the tables are remaining in the Limes until the 13th when he takes them on to Kent.
So anyone wanting to visit a pub with four bar billiards tables, two of which are on freeplay, you know where to go ! ;)
