Tommo has decided to stand down from management of this forum with immediate effect. He has decided that the anniversary of two years at the coal face and his plans to gradually cut his involvement with bar billiards mean that the time has come.
I will be very sorry to see Clive stand down as his efforts to manage this forum and preserve the smooth running have been second to none.
I thank Clive publicly for everything he has done so far and hope that he will continue to be an essential part of the life of this forum by running the quizzes etc.
The future? the triumvirate of directors met at Redhill last month and discussed the future. Graham also feels that the responsibilities of running this forum are draining him, but I am pleased to say he has agreed to stay on and help the new director.
The directors had long discussion regarding the forum management structure which has seen more responsibility in decisions devolved to staff members recently and away from the directors. The new director would have to be able to devote time to the forum when necessary in the ebbs and flows that transpire. The new director also needs to give a better geographical spread to the ownership of this important medium than three of us from the South East corner. Clive Graham and I have decided that Tony Willis, who has now retired, is the best choice to fulfill that role.
This decision is not meant to be detrimental to any staff member who has been in office longer and I thank them all for their efforts. I hope all members will welcome and help Tony Willis in his new role.
Clive wishes to take a back seat and just continue running the quizzes etc. the Directors have decided to invite Tony Jenner to replace Clive on the general staff board, I am pleased to day that Tony Jenner has accepted. Tony has displayed a very level head and will make a good addition to the staff.
I hope you will all look favourably upon these changes. I will start a thread in the general discussion area for any comments.
