Usual suspect i'm afraid.
FYI the Rangers table is being recovered by Diddy on tuesday. That will mean all 4 venues will have been re covered.
We are also working on the tables in Storage ready for the open in October and May.

Been having some problems updating the website, but the fixtures should hopefully be up over the next week or so.
In the meantime, I've attached the fixtures.

9th October 2012 Guernsey League Layabouts 0 Breakaways 5 (away team get the breaks)
With only one score over 5000 it is obvious the table was a little more tricky to play on than last season. Last years corresponding fixture between identical players produced a total score of 37320. A difference of over 12000 points less were scored this week over 5 single games compared with last season :o :o :o
Ben Wilding 2200 Ian Champion 3790 Champs with his proper trousers on, set the tone for the evening, but was surprisingly off the table with only 1000 opening break. Ben lost as much score as he kept and would have made a bit more of a game of it with more experience.
Norman Wilkinson 380 Gary Naftel 3750 A slow and steady, but confident opening break of 2900 put paid to my chances and I never recovered enough to make an impression, with lots of balls drifting towards the centre and difficult to clear.
Paul Dyer 1120 Paul Le Gallez 1530 Both players struggled during a very scrappy game, the Lord claiming after affects from his recent birthday party, Diddy looked to have it in the bag, however a well timed clearance and break till the bar dropped saw Lucky Lord Lucan snatch the win.
Mat Ogier 860 Roy Le Page 3650 Mat desperately unlucky in this one >:( failing to keep a 3500 break by just missing an awkward ball in the centre. Le Taxi gratefully claiming the bragging rights on this occasion.
Terry Girard 1580 Darren Ogier 6240 El Tel with his arm still aching from picking up so many pegs during my match played a very confident game and was ahead at the half way stage. But Darren kept plugging away and sealed the win with an impressive 3000 break to finish the game off.
Elsewhere, reigning Champions Baulkliners claiming lack of fixture lists failed to raise a side for their first match :o and hopefully will be back in action next week.

16th October Breakaways 2 Giants 3
With the match being played on the newly recovered table it was going to be interesting to see how it would pan out.
Roy Le Page 0 vs. John Van Katwyk 3,130
This was an interesting game well it had nothing to do with Barbilliards. With Mr Le Page blocking in someone in the carpark. Good bit was he was asked to move the car." no problem you just to wait 10 mins" was the response.
This did not go down well "It will only take a min do it now" We tried to explain the game is timed and you cannot just stop. Pause the clock was the response. It gave the rest of some entertainment. Back to the Game Jon was nice and steady from the off and put Roy under pressure and when Roy missed the 100 his game was over. Jon eased to victory and Roy could not even pot the 200 for consultation and black pegged.
Game 2 Ian Champion 260 vs. Luke Oliver 6,930
Ian 6 hours of practice did him no good what so ever as Luke loved the table and scored 6500 on his opening break, ok it took 12 mins but is probably the best i have seen him play. What a difference a good table makes. Ian huffed and puffed but i think the House blew him down. In the closing minutes the only excitement was when Ian stuck on 30 just so he could beat Roy Score. He though did manage another 230 at the death.
Darren Ogier 5,990 vs. Bob Le Moignan 2,000
This was a re run of last season 1st game between these two sides as Darren and Bob met again. Last time Bob easily beat me. Bob set off ok but was unable to settle with the pace of the table. I managed to get the break back early doors and edged into the lead before leaving a ball on the edge of the 50 pocket. Bob was unable to respond and i was able to extend my lead on a table that could now be the best in Guernsey.
Paul Le Gallez 710 vs. Tom Oliver 7,680
Tom the raining player of the year did not get on well with the table to start with and twice came off the table early and allow Paul a chance. Twice though Paul cleared all the balls knocking over the peg in the process and give the break straight back. On the 3rd time of asking Tom scored and impressive break and secured the victory.
There was one point in this match that warrants further discussion. With Tom easily in the lead a ball fell right behind the 200 pocket. Tom went for the shot and missed by at least a ball and a half.
In Snooker this would of been classed as no attempt and replaced to re try. In Bar billiards a deliberate miss is loss of there whole score. Does anybody ever in force this law? What are the boundaries in which we can class a deliberate miss?
Gary Naftel 5,990 vs. Terry Kenny 4,140
It was good to see the return of Terry Kenny back in the league after an absence of 2 years. This former Island player is more than capable of making a return to the Guernsey team. He played well from the start and Gary was on the back foot. However Gary was in no mood to lose and put in a very good 5500 break and secure the win. Terry though did get the break back at the end and make the scores a little closer.
However Gary left frustrated as he was unable to take the top breakaways score of the night.

Hi Darren We have an AEBBA rule to cover this scenario.... 33) If a delay occurs during a game, the delay should be timed and that time added on when the bar drops by pulling the bar again. After the delay time, the balls will be removed from the trap as they return as if the bar has dropped.

30th October 2012 GUERNSEY LEAGUE
Layabouts 3 Fontaine 2
An evening full of banter as expected with the entertaining Fontaine team. Mace on form as usual with all the jokes ::) Table was a bit slow, but some good scores put in especially by one of the away team
Stormin 6070 Pete Goubert 1930 My first win of the season and got the confidence back again.
Oggy 7130 Mace 2690 Steady performance from Mat and Mace never stood a chance, Got the chance to send a few texts whist watching Mat break
Diddy 5750 Little Legs 1470 Diddy lost a couple of thousand before he got going and sealed the win. 3-0 up. was looking good until....
El Tel 170 The Bullet 13,530 A StoneWALL ;D performance and the rest of us should be thankful he is not going to Jersey this year as on this form he could have gone all the way ;)
Ben Wilding 1340 Nick Ogier 2830 The youngsters met and Nick showed he is going to be a tough opponent now he is playing on a regular basis for the Fontaine.
6th November 2012 Baulkliners 3 v Layabouts 2 In a land of myth and a time of magic.... :o :o :o Not Camelot but the hidden and mysterious West Legion Club in the depths of St Peter in the Wood. Layabouts paid their first visit of the season to take on the reigning champions and a shock was almost on the cards.
Barry Osborne 4350 Norman Wilkinson 3330 On a top quicker than a Tory party members exit from a children's home ;D this was going to be an interesting evening, and the one up was going to be the deciding factor in all matches. Ozzy timed his comeback to perfection and all I could do is watch in awe.
Andy Rundle 3450 Larry Bearder 3110 Layabouts managed to tempt another veteran out of retirement and he very nearly caused a shock. Using a borrowed cue and after an absence of four years playing competitively, Larry was leading and well in front with about five minutes to go. Andy got his head together and put in a superb come back and played it out to sneak the win. Skill or fluke :-/ it was impressive to watch
Trevor Gallienne 2430 Mat Ogier 6770 :D Another Guernsey in-form player sadly not competing in Jersey this year. Oggy showed confidence and kept Trevor off the table with a cool and consistent performance.
Rodney Smith 2100 Paul Dyer 4910 Loads of banter in this one, but Rodders could not put Diddy off enough, however Diddy was unable to repeat his play-out of last season at this venue.
Pete Saunders 2290 Terry Girard 1080 Both players struggled on this tricky top and Pete just edged it with a few more minutes on the table than his opponent.

12h November 2012 Six-a-side Knockout. Played at neutral venue - Rangers Club Layabouts 3 v Giants 3 (Layabouts win on aggregate) * Indicates opening break. Single games.
A match that had more twists than the Mississippi, it was the 'least expected to win' players that made the difference and the outcome was not decided until the final frame.
Pete Lowe 1130 John van Katwyk* 4780 Layabouts super-sub Pete never got going against a steady opening performance by the Giants stalwart, however got some scores on the doors to help with the aggregate.
Norman Wilkinson * 1080 Luke Oliver 570 A game of two halves and they were both bad A scrappy game after I had lost my opening break we both continued to make mistakes. I managed to score enough to keep ahead and gratefully carved out an embarrassing win.
Paul Dyer 2660 Terry Kenny * 4310 Diddy was expected to get a chance and he did, when Kane broke down on about 2,500. But Diddy's break ended prematurely and Kane was back on it again. Kane was motoring on another large break, but a spin out on the 100 took out a white peg. Diddy unusually failed to capitalise and Kane got his head together for a convincing well deserved win.
Tery Girard * 5080 Tom Oliver 390 Terry was off after 500 and it should have been game over as Tom soon got the break back. However both players continued to make mistakes until Terry finally produced the form we all know he is capable of, to gain a much deserved and long overdue win.
Ben Wilding 2380 Bob Le Moignan * 1510 Ben also needed some confidence after narrowly loosing on several occasions this season. Bob pushed him and it was nip and tuck for a while. Until Ben managed to keep a few short but crucial scores.
Mat Ogier * 4710 Karl Ogier 4800 No brotherly love here and it should have been a doddle for Mat with the opening break. Layabouts were about 1,500 up on aggregate and just needed the win. But Mat came off the table in his opening break without keeping a score. The game swayed in Giants favour as Karl banged in a good break. Mat was in trouble and it looked as though Giants were going to take the win. But Mat was showing no brotherly love and fought back, narrowly loosing the match, but keeping the aggregate points advantage.

When Oge takes a break from watching Sky TV whilst he recovers from his nasty knee operation, he might be able to give a brief report on last evenings proceedings at The Rangers Club, where Breakaways lost 2-3 to Layabouts ;D

Sorry not as keen to write a report when i played like an idiot
After losing 5-0 in their last meeting Layabouts were keen to set the record straight.
Paul Le Gallez 1890 Paul Dyer 5000
We surprised diddy by putting him on first, we usually try to wait until a few Ciders have disappeared. Although surprised he still managed 4100 in his opening break. Paul managed to pull back some score but never managed to threaten a win and Diddy stumbled over the line.
Ian Champion 8230 Norman Wilkinson 1000
These two seem to play each other every time our teams meet, Champs hold the upper hand at the moment and Norman was under pressure eight from the off. Champs was soon at the table and settled in to a good 7k plus break which effectively ended this as a contest.
Roy Le Page 680 Matt Ogier 6870
Matt looked to be back at his best as he knocked in just over 6k and rolled up to put his score on the board. Roy not able to make any headway and struggled to find any form and ended losing this game to take Layabouts 2-1 up.
Gary Naftel 4120 Ben Wilding 2500
Ben missed both balls on his opening break and it looked as though this would be an easy victory for Gary. However Gary struggled to get going and Ben was able to find some form and played very well. It was only in the last few minutes that Gary got the break back and scored just over 3k to take the victory.
Darren Ogier 3100 Terry Girard 4130
A rematch from the 1st game of the season. Terry put in a poor opening break and allowed Darren on early. Struggling to get around the table with 1 leg managed 1700 and taking an early lead. The game then became scrappy as neither of us could get to grips with the game. With only a few minutes left Terry put 3 down and got the break back scoring over 3000 and taking the game.

11/12/12
Layabouts 0 Giants 5
Giants (aka Oliver's Army) well and truly avenged their knockout defeat earlier this year. The charge was led by Son and Father Luke Oliver, who scored 5510 and Tom Oliver who scored 5740.
The most interesting game was the one between Paul Dyer and Terry Kenny. Terry Kenny looked to have the game sewn up with a break of over 5K, however an under-hit shot when the red was over the 50 hole resulted in a loss of break. Diddy regained the break and was cruising towards a win, when he handed the advantage back to Kane with an over-hit shot taking a white peg out.

Breakaways take all the points against La Fontaine.
After last weeks impressive 3-2 victory over the current champions La Fontaine were in buoyant mood. But without the phone joking non signing of legal documents Paul Mason there was always a spark missing.
Heading off with their leading points scorer Jim Wall aka Bob Chapple. La Fontaine hopes were high but he met the inform Gary Naftel, Yet to drop any points Gary looked favorite until he walked through the door, After a few after work drinks.
To Make things worse the not so mighty Arsenal were on the box. However after a shocking opening which allowed Jim an early chance. Jim took the lead but was unable to hold on as Gary sneaked it. Although his night didn't end well as Bradford batterd the Arsenal on penalties.
Game 2 Champs maintained his form from the previous week where he battered Paul and Oge in the pairs on the same table. Winning with his highest break of the season.
Game 3
After an opening break of 2500 the game was effectively over as little legs never looked liked scoring anything. With the most boring game of the night as Oge (myself) scored a few before leaving the balls awkwardly.
Game 4
Good job Colin hasn't played for 5 years as EL le Taxi looked as though he hadn't played for 10 years. However Roy plodded through and scraped the victory as Colin seemed drawn to the little white things on the table called pegs.
Game 5
It was nice to see Mr Le Gallez at a billiard eveing past 9 pm. This was always going to be a tricky tie as Nick was showing some good form since his return to the league. Paul well past his bedtime started slowly and finished even slower, this however though was just about enough as Nic was unable to capatilise.
Nick Ogier 1,710 vs. Paul Le Gallez 2,790 Dave De Jersey 550 vs. Ian Champion 9,370 Davey Richardson 1,680 vs. Darren Ogier 3,450 Colin De Jersey 430 vs. Roy Le Page 2,420 Jim Wall 2,420 vs. Gary Naftel 3,580

17th December 2012
Fontaine 0 Layabouts 5
With both teams have suffered whitewash defeats the previous week, points were eagerly contested, with loads of banter as usual between the two teams ::)
Little Legs 320 Mat Ogier 5850 First on, Mat made no mistake, however after a quiet start soon settled and put in a commanding performance that gave his team a lift after last weeks disaster. Davey quite upset at having to play first after only 5 pints of Guinness :o :o :o
Jim Wall 830 Norman 2790 I have lost to and beaten Bob Chapple, but never lost against Jim Wall. My opponent threatened to get the the break back on a few occasions, and if he did that could have led to a different outcome. Despite loosing a 2K break I managed to master the infamous ball jumping off the spot, and kept my lead throughout the game.
Paul Mason 490 Julian Webb 1680 Super-sub and joint founder member of Layabouts Julian made a rare appearance, drafted in at short notice as usual. Keeping one eye on Arsenal on TV and one eye on the table, he stumbled over the line with an interesting array of shots, the likes of which we have not seen for over 15 years. Mace still wondering how he can not perform on his home table.
Nick Ogier 1490 Paul Dyer 7600 Nick was able to watch a fair chunk of his teams game on TV as the two Arsenal supporters met. Diddy proved there was nothing wrong with the table, as he opened up with a 7,000 break. The rest of the match was academic as both players messed around waiting for the bar to drop.
Dave de Jersey 430 Tel Girard 3850 No talk of a whitewash going into the final game. Jers can be a tough opponent and kept within touching distance until a back peg with 5 mins to go handed Tel a certain win.

No league matches in Guernsey tomorrow. Six a side knockout semi finals;
Fontaine v Layabouts at West Legion club Mace's Fontaine team will be looking to avenge their 5-0 thrashing we dealt out last time we faced each other and the match may be closer with 3 breaks each.
Breakaways v Baulkliners at Fontaine. This could be a close one and could to be decided on aggregate - possibly 3-3, all depends which players get the breaks.

Congratulations to Fontaine who produced a remarkable shock 5-1 win against Layabouts to reach their first ever Six-a-side Knockout final according to Mace. A combination of wasted breaks and lost scores added to Layabouts demise, however taking nothing away from their team, they fought over each point and dug deep to keep themselves in the competition. What was hoped to be the deciding leg, when Paul Dyer(with break) was drawn versus Bob Chapple proved to be academic, as Fontaine were already 4-1 up at that stage. Diddy manged to put four down in his break on the super quick Legion top, so Bob relaxed and banged in over 12,000 with three breaks. Well done again to the Fontaine who thoroughly deserved their win. Postscript - Team seemed to play better without Jim Wall ;D PPS - Word on the street is that Baulkliners beat Breakaways 4-2 so the holders get through to another final ::)

Shock result of the Decade :o :o :o
Six a side Knockout Final
La Fontaine 4 Baulkliners 2
Well done to the boys from the Fontaine who upset the form book once again to win their first ever team trophy. Having despatched the Layabouts in the semi final, Mace's team proved it was no fluke by beating current holders and league champions Trevor Galliennes Baulkliners, full of current and former Island champions and Island players.
Playng at the Rangers club where they have beaten the Breakaways 3-2 the night previous in a league fixture, they put in a terrific performance, every one of them playing their part. Normally the whipping boys who usually finish bottom of the table, things have turned around this season with Nick Ogier playing regularly (he beat Trevor last evening) and the signing of Bob Chapple has made all the difference to their confidence. Even Little Legs played his part in a low scoring ::) but vital last ball win, to help the result along ;D
