To all captains
The inter league season will start on the weekend of September 17/18.
Sorry but it clashes with the Berkshire Open.
Fixtures will be published in the next couple of days.
Good luck to all

Just to let you know that the final is scheduled for 6.30, so you will just have to make sure we get enough scorers all day to keep to schedule, in case anybody from Sussex reaches the final stages. Good chance of that as they are about 25% of the entries.

Dave,
Did you get my e-mail about the incorrect phone number??
I will be in touch with Pete Sainsbury as soon as I know whether I have got a full team. Trust you to kick off the season the day after I go on holiday. ???

Sad to see that Worthing were unable to provide the 'D' team entry which they expected to field. :'(
Even worse news is the rumour that the Redhill B team is also likely to be a no show. :'( :'(
Div 3 will be sadly depleted if this news is true ::)
- perhaps an earlier rumour that Littlehampton could provide a 'B' team, could be resurrected to fill the void? Contact Dave Jones urgently if this is at all possible. :-/ I believe his land line or a text is the best way to get hold of him
All that not withstanding it would be good to see scores and reviews of games posted on this site. I will start the thread off for the first game :)

Redhill B is a bit of a political football. Don't know if your source of intelligence is more recent than mine, Alan, but as of Sunday just gone the captain who is also the captain of Surrey B was being held to ransom by two ladies: the choice he is faced with is whether to pick them both for both teams or risk having them for neither. It seems that Paul Reece and myself may be sacrificed from having a place in Surrey B to accommodate their wish. :o
It's a no-brainer, really, why shouldn't ladies have first refusal for what is really a men's competition ? ::) :-X As usual, I'm not bovvered. :P Won't play where I'm not wanted. So there's a very good chance that Redhill B will be salvaged at the eleventh hour to play in the Sussex Interleague -unless anyone has more recent information.

Dave,
Not sure if you have been informed but we have postponed the Tunbridge Wells vs Brighton B match. Tunbridge have three players at the Berks Open and three on holiday. I was struggling a bit as well. Not sure when we will play but I will keep you informed.
Tommo..... I believe you mentioned my spritual home in a post somewhere recently...... Yes I do mean the Martha Gunn. Not only my home but that of a certain Chris Tupper. I paid a nostalgic but brief visit there last night. Brief due to the lack of beer, people and atmosphere. I'm not sure which is my favourite pub nowadays. The Martha or the Tivoli Tavern in Jersey ;D

Hi Doug, I've only ever had to play one match at the Martha Gunn, and I seem to remember that there was nearly a fight: Mick Holmwood had his arm nudged as he was playing a shot and his reflex action caught the person with the cue in a certain area (shall I just say that the cue had a soft landing ;D) A (dubiously)female colleague of hers leapt to her defence and it could have got quite nasty. :o Not a place I'd go out of my way to re-visit.
My favourite pub in Jersey used to be the Dog & Sausage, but I don't think they've had bar billiards there for a long time. The best pubs in out and away places in England that I've found with bar billiards and a great atmosphere are the Seagate Hotel in Appledore, North Devon; the Duke of York in Cowes, Isle of Wight and the Raynes Park at Raynes Park which had three bar billiards tables in a line. 8-) Sadly none of these have tables now. :(

Littlehampton 1 Worthing A 6 Enjoyable evening at the Locomotive, but not a good start for the promoted side. Table played quite well but the only big aggregate score was from Roger & KTs game.
Barry Holt took a scrappy opener for Littlehampton, then wins for Roger Taylor,Martin Smith,Tony Lewis,Alan Messer,Neil Higgins & Mal Spier killing off the home team.
Well done Worthing.

Hi Dave
Colin Robbins should have contacted you by now. Redhill had to cancel against Brighton A due to 4 of his players not being able to make it. He is going to call me back to arrange another night for it to be played.
Cheers
