Hi Hastings BB fans Result card for Plough B v Royal Albert played at the Plough 7/11/12 Lee Sunshine BP v Mike Daw 10,140Stewart Chant 1110 v Nick Speight 5120Colin Southouse 4000 v Tony Gates 1140 Roger Charman 1610 v Geoff Smith 2680Sarah Quinn 840 v Denis Cole 4130result Royal Albert win 4-1 Mike Daw played well tonight after opening with 1.3k Lee missed a shot due to a moving ball on the "D" mike followed up with an 8370 away break to seal the game Lee black pegged the last ball. Nick speight followed up with a steady 4k+ break leaving Stewart no time to catch up. Tony started well with 2k but pegged his break Colin took half the game to get a chance of the break, but failed to stay with it but did enough to give the home team a chance of taking the match to the Albert, Roger Charmen returned to the fray after 3 years of absense, but was up against it with no match practice, he kept Geoff in his sights through the game but failed to take his opportunities on his breaks. Sarah was on the back foot tonight with Denis scoring regularly pulling away with each visit to the table. Overall a well deserved win for the Royal Albert who dealt with a trickier than usual Plough Table more successfully than the home side, The ball moving on the "d" was a continued frustration for all players Attached Royal Albert team Photo L-R Tony Gates, Denis Cole, Mike Daw & Nick Speight (Geoff Smith left early) regs cs Attachments:

Hi Hastings BB fans
Result cards for the Plough teams in week 6
The Ashburnham A v The plough B at The Ashburnham
Dave White 2070 v Heather Akehurst 300 Vic Hibben 3390 v Sarah Quinn 1100 Phil Osborne 8350 v Colin Southouse 710 Bob Osborne 11660 v Lee Sunshine 1270 Mick Caister 2840 v Stewart Chant 3730
Result The Ashburnham a win 4-1
Dave and Heather were both attempting a new world record for peg felling, but Dave easily had the measure of our skipper who lacked a certain "Je ne sais Qua" Vic and Sarah played last and both were scoring regularly but Vic kept extending his lead as time deminished, however another good score from our quickly improving novice Phil played a steady game tonight while colin found another box of silly tablets, must have eaten the lot tonight. Bob kept up his great form tonight scoring another over 10k game thats 4 out of six so far and has almost secured top spot already so keep it up Bob Mick played a steady game but Stewart (on a roll this week and gradually returning to this galaxy) kept with him and a telling 2k break at the death sealed the game and a consolation 2 points. Nice night with Ashburnham lads, plenty of banter and comment (especially from Bob) and definately well deserved winners
The Plough A v Nags head B played at the Plough Rez Rizai 1740 v Lisa Woodall 1270 Jack Pope BP v Dave Pearce 1500 Lee Brock 1580 v Debbie Rowan 810 Fred Pope 1140 v Ray Roberts 970 Alec Pope 2440 v Glenn Davis 270
result The Plough A win 4-1
no match report...yet ::)

More like last minute super sub. Great to see Sean back. I only hope it wasn't a one off. I just wonder if he made that score in one break or not. Knowing Sean it would be. I really hope sandy can convince him to play on a more regular basis.

He could have had the t-shirt many times if they were given for every time he'd done that in the past. He was the first player I ever saw get a 20k break. I remember seeing him score 22k first time and then a few weeks later 24k. I think that was in only my 3rd season as a player. Up til then i'd barely seen a break above 10k. They were both scored at the manor in Hastings. That table used to be a quick table (quickest in Hastings at that time) which has since been recovered when it went in the nags head many years later. Now a much slower table unfortunately but can still be a high scoring top.

He was a super sub! Not a bad replacement for the old man! It wasn't a late sub as we played the matches back to front due to Martin coming late from the Plough. Quite amazing that after not playing for over a year he can pick up a cue and bang in 19000 without practice! He is unlikely to be playing again soon, I asked him to play as a favour but he did say he wouldn't be surprised to be asked again.....will have to wait until we play the Plough B and Royal Albert ;D
Sean's highest I'm certain is the 24k Mike saw, never heard of him getting more than that.
As for the 20k shirt I believe he has lost it ::) I said to him to ask to buy a new one, but the price for the special size of XXXXXXS might be a bit too much for him ;D

Hi Hastings BB fans
Plough A v Plough B
Alec Pope 2800 v 3650 Colin Southouse Rez Razai 2380 v 790 Harry Sunshine (1st ever league game) Fred pope 640 v 2730 Stewart Chant Lee Brock 260 v 0 Heather Akehurst Jack Pope 1330 v 3870 Lee Sunshine
result Plough B win 3-2
Colin off early yet again but managed to maintain a 1k lead throughout the game with Alec who recovered the break several times but failed to make it tell, the difficult table was definitely the winner tonight. Rez lost several breaks giving our Hastings league first timer Harry Sunshine (14 yo) plenty of chances but the A team captain came out on top in the end, but well done to Harry hopefully will be available again should the need arise. Stewart again rode his luck tonight playing a plethora of shots into the 100 from all directions, not sure any of them were meant but we will give him the benefit of the doubt here, Fred on the other hand was markedly short of any luck at all, hence the scoreline Lee Brock started well and continued with some decent breaks throughout ending up about 4k ahead of heather at the bar thanks to TWO black pegs, lee was obviously embarraced to be so far ahead and decided to play a ball off the back cushion with a bit too much venom and did just enough to take the BP to even the score at 0-0. the last ball (red) was played several times toward the 100 and lees was the first to drop in. Lees' 260 winning score must surely be the lowest winning score for quite a few moons. Lee sunshine seemed to deal with the tricky top better than most tonight but still lost a few breaks, he gradually pulled away from Jack leaving too much for jack to do in the end
A good draw for the B's aided their cause tonight and the 3-2 scoreline a fortunate result with all matches going with the break
another brill spread from Martin, Chilli con carne with Cheesy tortilla chips, chips, roast pots and parsnips and a succulent sausage casserole.... fantastic

Hi Hastings BB Fans
The previous seasons finals night was held last night at the Nags head, nice to see a fair number of supporters in tow to add to the frivolities.
A big thank you to Ossie senior who did pretty much everything in the organising front last night, it was nice to see so many volunteer scorers offering their services as well, very refreshing

Agreed, thank you to Ozzie senior for organizing finals night. I must say even though I was not playing I thought it was a good evening. Well done gandalf on winning the open singles and unlucky Roy Harmer who was runner up.
Well done SandyH and Roy Harmer on winning the doubles for the third time I think.
Well done to Lee Brock who played a mammoth three finals and won two of them (lower averages and handicap) last night in which everyone of them went to three frames.

Hi Hastings BB fans Result card for The Plough v The Nags Head B played at the plough Stewart Chant 1690 v 990 Lisa Woodall Heather Akehurst W/O no opponent Colin Southouse 5370 v 750 Dave Pearce Chris Haynes 3620 v 2080 Ray Roberts Gareth Pell 1890 v 970 Glen Davis The nags B were always up against it tonight with a late no show conceding a walk over to Heather Akehurst Stewart continued his slow rehabilitation to humanity doing just enough to take the game from a well focussed Lisa Woodall, we did suggest that lisa play heather in a proper match as they were of similar standard and both would have a good chance of a win, but unfortunatley the b's declined Colin recovered the break a few times but failed to make a reasonable break though he was always pulling away from Dave Pearce who semed to home in on the white pegs from anywhere on the table tonight Chris Haynes started slowley and was behind for most of the game with Ray Roberts getting a few telling breaks, Chris got a nice 1.7k break when it counted leaving no time for Ray to recover, this the best match of the evening. Gareth Pell also had a slow start but kept putting on small amounts regularly, Glen Davis played well tonight and scored over 3000 points but as in game 3 the white pegs were his nemesis and Glen came out of the game well behind, a nice evening with the B's Nice steaming hot cottage pie, the biggest plate of sausages and chips ever and just for the ladies a nice variety of veggy options for the nags team which went down perfectly (plenty of players were offering their sampling skills tonight), top marks for Martin the landlord again regs cs

Hi Hastings Bb fans
Week 11 The Ashburnham B V The Plough B
Colin Southouse 5340 v 5810 Chris Sexton Sarah Quinn 1630 v 2790 Ron Young Heather akehurst 260 v 5720 Sandy Harmer Stewart Chant 4070 v 9970 Roy Harmer Lee Sunshine 920 v 6940 Mick Osborne
Result The Ash B win 5-0
Colin spent most of the game 4k ahead but a nice 3.5k from Chris near the end, a wicked kick on Colins 2nd break visit followed by another 1.5k from Chris left him 300 ahead at the bar Colin missed an easy shot in the 100 to gift Chris the game making a hatrick for Colin this week (doh) but a solid performance from Chris Sexton well done to him.
Sarah opened up with a 1k break putting Ron under pressure early on, the scores ended up neck and neck till about half way when Ron strated putting a few scores together and gradually pulling away from Sarah, an exciting game with plenty of chances for both, Sarah beating her previous seasons PB.
A somewhat boistrous game with most of those present tonight trying to distract Sandy throughout, with a few bits of advice thrown in by the Harmster to help Heathers' cause. Sandy tried to take advantage of Heather again !!! a few good shots from Heather made it interesting and it looks like her cueing is on the up and up
Roy Harmer opened up with 5k and looked like a new man tonight after what has been a poor season for the Harmster to date and playing his old adversary Stewart bought out the best in him. another 4k sealed the game and a 4k from Stewart near the death bought a bit of respectability to the scoreline, the 9970 from Roy another seasons PB but only his 2nd 5k plus score this season, we wish him continued success.
Lee Sunshine was in the driving seat at the start with Mick osborne finding plenty of ways not to score, but the ball moving on the D unsettled Lee and mick took full advantage for the rest of the game.
A great banter filled evening with our Ash B friends, we hardly noticed we were losing every game....was that Sandy's masterplan? :o :o ::)

Thanks to both teams for the support for Heather in our game, think i got a worse reception than Eden Hazard at a Ball-boy convention, but made the game more fun.
