Hi Mark, the information was copied direct from the entry form and I think the prices shown there are incorrect and that the reduced prices shown are for nights other than Friday, Saturday or Sunday.... suggest that you ring the hotel direct to find out. ;)

The Guernsey Open pairs will this year include a plate competition. This hoped to give everyone more billiards for the weekend.
FYI this will not carry any prize money although there will be a trophy. It also means that we will need to start the pairs a little earlier on the saturday with a 11am start.
I hope this receives a positive response and we hope to see you all soon. Entries have started to arrive and we will update here shortly.
Remember we will only put up names of those who have paid
Many Thanks
Oge

Lovely sunny day here in Guernsey, although the breeze makes it feel slightly chilly.... hotel great and the tables all look good after their recent refurbishment, looking forward to seeing how they play at the Guernsey Masters tonight. 8-) 8-) No sign yet of the (much needed) practice table.... :'(

Congratulations to Roy Le Page and Terry Kenny on their victory today.... also to KT and KH on their win in the Plate.
Plenty of shocks in the early rounds with many of the pre-competition favorites losing in the first round.... :o .... looking forward to the Guernsey v Jersey International tonight and the Open tomorrow. 8-)

D'oh !
Had been wondering why no news on the Guernsey Open (first one we've missed), and just discovered that they've been updating it in real time on the Guernsey website ! ::)
So following a quick scan I can report thus :
Final should just have finished by now between Traffs and Tupps. Both I believe playing in their first National (singles) final.
The Plate was won by Dave Ingram, congratulations to him. 8-) In the Semi-final he beat (Stormin') Norman Wilkinson (great weekend for him as he was also Masters semifinalist!) In the other semi, Ian Lelliott lost to Geoff Pitt of Berkshire.
The Main (Quarter-finals onwards): Mark Trafford bt Keith Hollis; Dave Hampton lost to Tony Webster; Bill Kerr lost to Chris Tupper; Nigel Senior beat Jim Millward.
Semifinals Mark Trafford bt Tony Webster; Chris Tupper bt Nigel Senior.
Final Mark Trafford v Chris Tupper.

Final Mark Trafford (2080,4500)6580 bt Chris Tupper (2370,150)2520
Also spotted: Unbelievably, seven Channel Islanders were knocked out at the last 16 stage (along with Sir KT who lost by 10 to Traffs).
These were: Michelle Baden, Terry Kenny, Trevor Gallienne, Matt Ogier, Dennis Helleur, Darren Ogier and Bob King.
And Good to see Pete Hartley's name mentioned, he happened to be over there to play a gig with his band and had planned nothing more than to put his face round the door !
