The following teams will make up this years line-up: Mens County Ladies A League B League Chairmans Medway(Curt Driver) Lewes (Dave Ingram) Horsham/Billingshurst (TBA) I am delighted our 3 guest teams have confirmed and the redhill captains are now organising their sides. The theme for the day is SUPER HERO's, so dig out those outfits! I have never had the urge to wear my pants on the outside...... until now! The money raised is for the Help for Hero's charity. Here's to a great day with the same level of competitive bar billiards and fun.

why are they unable to raise a team i was never asked and so were many other players i could think of To answer your question 'why'...... the slot was offered last year to, and taken up by, the captains of Horsham (Adam) and Billingshurst (Ding) as a combined Horsham/Billingshurst Interleague team. Now that they have failed to take up the slot, Redhill may well put out for a last minute replacement team. There has been a waiting list, and Medway are new ones in this year. I think Eastbourne/Hastings have registered an interest in the past, but if you think that Mid Sussex can fill in at short notice you'd better say so on here and we'll see what transpires.

From conversations that I had last night with some of the Redhill players that are helping to organise the day, I think that Redhill are trying to raise a team from some of the reserves that they had and a few "guest players" from other Leagues, so if there are any players that would like to take part please let me know and I will let the appropriate people know? :D

Another superb day up at Redhill with so many fantastic games all played in a wonderful atmosphere.... 8-)
Eight teams took part with many of the players dressing up in various outfits, as always this event supports a charity and £450 was raised for "Help for Heroes" through a combination of fund-raising ideas on the day. ;D
The theme this year was Super Hero's and there were certainly some amazing costumes on display.... Gary "Captain America" Powell led from the front and DC, Jean Brackenridge and Colleen Park all gave their variations of Zorro, Alan Brackenridge and Andy Farmer-Wright were both Batman, while Spider-Woman and a couple of Banana-Man characters were also present as (inevitably) was Denise "Lara Croft" Wills, some heavily camouflaged Light Infantry Ladies and Kevin "Bat-Woman" Stoner :o who looked as if he would be strongly in the running for the award for "Best Outfit" ....until Curt "Golden Balls" Driver arrived fashionably late to steal the show - you really had to be there to believe it! ;D ;D ;D
The range of outfits didn't seem to hinder any of the players and the games got under way, tables were excellent and there were some very close games thanks to the handicap system.... helped by a little bit of barracking and distraction tactics by the ladies on some occasions. :D
As the day drew to a close, Lewes emerged as the winners with the County Team in second place followed closely by the Redhill A League Team with the "Allsorts" (the last minute replacements for the Horsham Team that sadly were unable to make the day) in fourth place and "Charlie's Angels" (the Ladies) close behind. Medway, the B League and the Chairmans Team completed the line-up on the day.
We (Lewes) would like to thank Gary, DC and the Redhill Committee for the invitation to take part in what is one of our favorite events of the Bar Billiard Calendar.... :D ....and everybody involved in the organisation and running of the day from those that helped to set the tables up on Friday night, Colin & Jackie who worked so hard keeping us all fed and watered on the day with the usual great selections and very reasonable prices, all of the Ladies that made the mouth watering selection of cakes that were sold on the day (to raise money for the Charity) and to Dave & Caroline Jones who do such a fantastic job on the Admin Desk. 8-) ;D
A special award was also made to Bill Kerr, giving him "Life-Time Membership" of the Redhill League in thanks for all the things that Bill has done during the last few years in helping to raise money for the League with Raffles, Donations and supporting League events.... the certificate was presented in a beautiful frame and really took Bill by surprise and is something that I know he appreciated greatly. 8-)
