Cracking match last night. Lots of 'friendly' banter and a bit of controversy but hey that's BB!
KK was off early and Chris punished him with a series of 1 & 2k breaks. Cakes potted steadily but Chris played well.
Pete H also came off early when he missed his split. Pete B let him back on at 4k but Topgun came off after a few shots. Pete B made sure with another 5k.
Mustard then stunned us all when he finally decided to break his form of late and get a PB break & high score with 11,670** break and 12,850 game. Chris commenting the lack of a higher break was that his back was aching! Poor old thing! **I'm sure the home side can confirm this.
I started of strong but on 2.8k I thinned a split and it whipped. Colin got a few grand before I came back with a 2.4k break and my score was on 4.2k :-/ so there's the night's controversy. Fortunately I won in the end anyway as Colin pushed ahead with another 4k and with about a minute to go I turbo played the clear-up and break to leave myself about 700 short on the bar, a serious of 3x 1 up splits and the 100 hole won me the game. It was a good game but win or lose I'd rather have the correct score up there, especially seeing as I won it makes no difference now, everyone makes mistakes & I'm sure it wasn't intentional.
Colin & I had another battle in the doubles with our partners playing a vital supporting role, far too many goes on the table each at the end as it got close but Topgun played the last few balls out and the 100 to make sure.
Chris was off very early considering how he played in the singles. Pete B & Matt played a strong game but were no match in the end, all rounded off with the 2nd BP end score of the night (both with Matt Knight playing ;D)
