The weekends events in Guernsey got underway at the Roquettes Hotel last evening.
Sixteen local players competed for the Guernsey Masters title
The winner in a very closely contested final was Bob Chapple who narrowly beat Roy Le Page, who had played superbly all evening.
This was Bobs second final appearance this season, having lost out in the Island Open singles to Paul Dyer.
The two other semi-finalists were Norman Wilkinson, who lost to Bob Chapple, and Tom Oliver who lost to Roy Le Page.

A special big thank you to Dave and Coleen who not only marked one of the semi finals but also the final.
Good luck to everyone for the Guernsey Open pairs and singles, it should be another great weekend.

A special big thank you to Dave and Coleen who not only marked one of the semi finals but also the final when by something strangely mysterious occurred and the committee vanished but don't worry as they reappeared for the presentation. Good luck to everyone for the Guernsey Open pairs and singles, it should be another great weekend. Congratulations to Bob on his win in a close final, clinching his win with a 2k break at the end of the second game to just overhaul the lead that Roy had built up. ;) Colleen & I are always happy to score the games at the Guernsey Masters and I know that Tom had asked if we would like to score the final as I think we had both scored a game in every round from the start of the evening.... 8-) Great to see some "new faces" (for us anyway) in the competition this year, which as always was played in a great atmosphere of friendly competition. ;D
