I have now had full control and access to the AEBBA account for a couple of months and now have a system in place for full accountability. Dave Ingram has agreed the system and will audit the accounts later in the year :o Phil McFarland has offered to assist him.
Bournemouth made a smaller than budgeted profit at £586.37 (£67.39 trophy refund to be received on next order).
The major early year expenses of £694.62 van insurance, £959.35 public liability insurance and £288 tax, MOT etc for the van have passed.
The two biggest remaining sponsors Brian Daniels and Tony Webster have been repaid along with a chap called Jed Long whom I finally traced, having moved to Doncaster (runs a micro brewery so that helped ;D). £1800 of the original loans have been converted to donations and I am very grateful to those generous players. We thus have £3300 left to pay back to the other table shareholders to whom we are also very grateful. I hope to do this in stages and have this completed following Bournemouth 2014.
Trading on the tables thus far means that we currently have a balance of £1798. I propose to operate at around £1500 minimum free capital in case of a substantial van problem. We also have to build up the funds for the cash flow problem of all our major bills coming at Christmas.
Negotiations have been completed with the Queens for Bournemouth 2014 and I am pleased to announce that next years deal will show a further reduction to £99.95 half board for the weekend, or £80 B&B. Substantial discounts on the bar prices have again been agreed. I will put the full deal under a separate thread.
Please feel free to ask questions.
Chris Saville, AEBBA Treasurer.

It would seem you are doing an excellent and efficient job Sav, and I for one am very grateful for the update and indeed the excellent deal you hammered out for Bournemouth next year. I fully indent to go with those improved prices.
Now all I need is a partner ;D

AEBBA have experienced a problem with the truck which means that, for safety reasons following a blowout, all tyres have had to be replaced with new top quality, heavy duty ones.
There are several on going problems with the truck, hopefully minor, that need addressing.
Thus the truck will shortly be going in for a full service and evaluation of its future potential.
Should there be any major problem, I will be transporting the tables for the Bucks hire in my van & big trailer, so that it is covered.
All being well, the truck will then be loaded for the Bucks hire and taken to a weighbridge to end the uncertainty of its maximum capacity and the liability of AEBBA officers, including myself!!, should it be found overloaded.
I had intended paying off some of the table investors to whom AEBBA still owe money now that the hiring season is drawing to a close. However, as you can see, that will not be possible until the financial position with the truck is clearer.

The Reading competitions are now in their mid term break Reading.pdf (187.26 KB) The above is an extract from my work in progress file from the accounts, it's not tarted up for presentation but it gives a picture of the Reading competitions thus far. All competition thus far have been in the black, largely due to a saving in trophy costs budgeting. My main concerns: - Raffle support is again less than three pounds a head, mixed was only just over two.
- Alternate rules trophies are governed to winners and runners-up by the rules, I believe this restriction should be removed on what is almost a full open.
- I consider there should be a rethink on splitting the over 50's and over 60's.
- The inter-counties weekends finances need re-evaluating, possibly trimming the trophy bill due to the numbers given.
Please support the raffles in the remaining two weekends, Chris Saville AEBBA Treasurer

I will be at Reading tomorrow to collect and finalise finances for 2013.
Following final transactions on Monday the AEBBA account will be frozen for a week whilst I produce the accounts for 2013. There will be no Bournemouth updates during this period.
All being well the accounts will be audited later next week and, subject to that audit, the accounts will be published on here next weekend to save time at the AGM.

Accounts completed and draft submitted to the AEBBA committee and Dave Ingram as Independent Examiner, if all OK full audit of receipts etc. takes place on Friday.
If approved, publication will take place over the weekend with my handover report, to save time at the AGM. Be gentle with me as I've never been a Treasurer or produced accounts before!!

The accounts have been independently examined (formerly known as auditing) and have passed, pending investigation of a couple of receipts.
I will be circulating my report to the AEBBA committee today and publishing the accounts and report on here Monday.
This will save time at the AGM. though further questions may be asked of myself or the examiner at the AGM prior to the vote for acceptance/rejection of the annual accounts.
