There are two deadline dates;
The original deal done with the hotel to hold the entire hotel accommodation for AEBBA for discounted accommodation up until December. they would be free to take outside bookings and fill remaining unused rooms after that.
The closing date for hotel registration was renegotiated with the hotel and put back from the AGM after representations from players that it was too early. The hotel is now free to take outside bookings and fill remaining unused rooms, hopefully they won't as there are several booking still to come. The confusion has arisen because of this and the international being added to the Bournemouth weekend at a very late stage and we felt that residency could not be compulsory for international players from Jersey until we had gained experience from this year, that split the necessity for the closing date for hotel registrations to be the same as the closing date for competition entries. The playing field has changed around us and we have tried to cater for it, not easy with the written word.
We will, of course, as with every other competition, take entries to the competition itself up until the draw is done and that is explained in the post that Curt has kindly highlighted.
You have no intention of staying at the hotel, you have intimated previously that I have been over stating the deal I got after hard negotiation from the hotel, you have even queried why the price of half a pint is not half that of a pint! You have had plenty of time to get a cheque to me for a measly five pounds, yet now you are trying to create an issue and embarrass me at this late stage.
I have put my head above the parapet and done what I can to help AEBBA, getting AEBBA accounting onto a proper footing after your accounts were voted out, the national tables, the lights, the AEBBA website, the Bournemouth weekend, this forum and bar billiards in general for several years.
If you wanted a reaction then you've got it. I've got better things to do with my life than get wound up over £5 and those few who cannot or will not help themselves.
I will complete the 2014 Bournemouth accounting for Chrissie Newson at the end of the month and then call it a day, handing the forum over and closing the AEBBA website that I have hosted and maintained for the last fifteen years. There you go, dummy spat at least I won't get high blood pressure any more!
You can keep most of the people happy all of the time, but some people you can never keep happy.
Chris Saville.

Sav - Why are you getting so upset over this? All i have done is asked a simple question and instead of getting a simple answer, i got a sarcastic response! Nowhere has it ever said that if you are not staying at the hotel, what the closing date for entries is. Where do you get that i have been trying to embarass you? Do not get that comment? Yes, i have had time to get a cheque to you, but as you know, most people wait until close to the closing date to enter. Personally, I was not sure if i was going to enter until a couple of weeks ago. My comments about the hotel & prices are my view, this has not changed since i first played in the competition about 7 years ago, so why are you trying to make out this is a personal attack on what you have done? Am i not allowed to put my views across? Thought that was an idea of a forum?!

Chris Saville. I think we are all guilty of being too sparse with our appreciation of someone so vital to the game as Chris Saville. We can only hope that this is a knee-jerk reaction as the alternative is unpalatable. tommo

Balance statements have gone out to all I have bookings for except for the Dave "The Guiness" and the Burches party that I don't have an email address for.
Still several without partners booked in (including me!), the Jersey party and some missing faces, please help me by chasing those who I am waiting payment from (not balances which are not yet due) and the people who may still be coming on the list above.
Thx,
Sav.

Thanks for the support Keith, 1st Feb Saturday, final bookings to the hotel and 85 rooms are booked, four in the last twenty four hours and more to come, but only fifty five are fully paid for. Quite how AEBBA are going to pay for them I do not know.

The trouble is those that still owe money for the rooms, etc, don't come on here much if not at all but saying that you have stated that you've sent out balance statements to those involved so there's no excuse really. Perhaps you should show a list of those with payments outstanding in open viewing instead of in the "members only" section ? Keith PS Chris, have we paid enough because Lin says it looks as if you haven't charged us for the entry fees ?

Well we're all ready to go (hopefully) after difficult administration with late bookings and several changes. Fortunately, due to the flexibility we enjoy with the hotel, all changes have been accommodated and refunds/charges applied right up until the last minute.
We have 89 rooms occupied this year, nine more than 2013, so well done all. I would stress that AEBBA make nothing out of the hotel fees apart from the secretary's free room, our sole income is the raffle and entry fees, so please please please generously support the raffle this year as funds are vital at this critical time of replacing the truck.
Please also remember that Saturday's main meal is an hour earlier at 1800hrs.
If you encounter any problems at the hotel then please let reception know and also inform Chrissie and I as we will be having our debriefing meeting with the hotel when you are all on your way home.
Most of all enjoy yourselves and tell others in your leagues what a great weekend this is! Next year's prices will be the same as this year's.
Good luck to all
Chris Saville.
