Brewers Droops 3 Horns Lodge 2
A frustrating evening of billiards for the visiting brewers boys missing a great opportunity to claw a point or two back from the bridge.
Dave 'told your luck would run out' Guilford 200 Adam 'luck master' Bateup 1820 A strange match this one, and to be fair to Dave who had the match completely sewn up, ahead by nearly 3000+ due to some of the best fluked doubles to the 50's and 100 pockets I've see so far in this mighty game. But as the name suggests Daves luck deserted him at the last, with the bar down and 3 balls left the ole boy black pegged with what I can only describe as a fluked double gone very very wrong. 0-1 :o :o :o :D
Jean ' I'm on call' Guilford 540 Andy 'well held' Farmer Wright 1990 Another strange match, both players struggled on the awkward top but the big Farmer taking the honors at the last ditch with a double to the 100 and the 50 pockets that were straight out of the Dave Guilford book of Jam filled shots, that led him onto a 800+ break to win the match. 0-2 :D :D ;D
Ben 'how big is yours' Procter 1720 Kevin 'thats player of the year gone' Hall 1410 A tense and difficult match for Kev, leading of with break finding it, getting the one up and missing the split pretty much summed up Kev's game, full credit to big Ben who held his own (hahaha) to take the Lodgers first of the evening. 1-2 :( ??? :)
Geoff 'scrappy' Winson 2190 Jock 'or should that read Joke' Jeffrey 1810 A shocker of a match from the skipper, with Geoff missing his opening break, the ole jockster thought............. well lets just say he smiled, which quickly disappeared I can tell you. A one armed man, wearing welding goggles and scratching his nuts would have played better than me I'm afraid, Geoff gave me enough chances but I just couldn't do a thing with them. To sum it up with about 1.1/2 minutes to go I finally got the break back and left the one up hanging over the pocket! DOH!!!! 2-2 >:( >:( >:( ;D
Paul 'let luck be a lady tonight' Dronefield 1650 Peter 'who's a lucky boy then' Hall A close and tense match to finish of the evening, Papa Hall manged to keep his head in front for most of the match, with both players failing to really dominate, then lady fortune smiled again on the Brewers causing Paul to over play a double to the 100 and yes you got it, black pegged. Still Papa Hall didn't really capitalize Paul came back at him and but for the want of a couple o white pegs may well have caught Papa Hall, but not to be as Papa Hall held out to win the night for the boys. 2-3 >:( >:( :o ;D ;D ;D
A strangely awkward table, serious right hand roll if you play anything too soft, I.E dead weight, and whippy as hell if you raise the pace just a little too much to compensate for the roll. Neither team really got to grips wi the top to be fair wi the Lodgers having the best and the worst of the run of the balls. Still it made for a great night, with much barricking from both teams, some of which was actually taken rather well I thought. Pizza and chips superb!!! All in all a great night at the Lodgers house, one of those 'a wins a win' nights. :P :P :P :D :D
Cheers All.

Stand up 2 Firemans 3
A close match just shaded by the Firemans with Chris Watson as stand in needing to put the last two balls in the two hundred to win. Dont know whether to call him Pugwash or Golden Balls now.
