Many, many congratulations to the Kennington Social and Sports Club team who won the Witney Summer League last night with an impressive 6-0 victory over the Red Lion Cassington to take the cup (in a virtual sense Beefy!) for the fifth year running. The draw, once again, was not kind to the Lion and three of the games were close, but the KSSC put in a great performance on what was a tricky table last night. Even in Mark's 11K break in a fifth there were very few doubles completed. Thanks to Terry Cook for scoring a lot of the games and to Justin at the club for the supper. Presentations will be made at the Summer Singles finals at a venue and date TBA. Kennington SSC 6 Red Lion Cassington 0 - overall score - Red Lion Cassington 3 Kennington SSC 9

Many thanks to EVERYONE who took part in the Summer competition - it was very enjoyable and I apologise for the format but it was the best I could do to fill the available time. Special mention to the Masons B team who stuck it out throughout the summer and even though they only got 3 points, they fulfilled all their fixtures in good spirit. Thanks also to all the teams who took it easy on them and indeed gave them tips and encouragement throughout their games. They will be back I'm sure.... Again well done Kennington! Tony
