BREWERS GIVE THE BRIDGE A SPANKING :D :D :D
IN
SEMI FINAL OF THE KNOCKOUT CUP :D :D :D
The Bridge 1 Brewers Droops 4
Alan Brackenridge 1400 Peter Hall 3160
Lee Chipman B/P Andy F Wright 4200
Jean Brackenridge 2740 Kevin Hall 2680
Marcus Chipman B/P Adam Bateup 2130
Kevin Stoner 2350 Richard Jeffrey 6530
What could it have been, that strange unsettling, that fugue that befell the mighty Bridge team, ??? could they not believe their very own eyes :o as the lowly Brewers ran amok fearlessly amongst them, :P scoring relentlessly, :P wining games no self respecting practitioner of our art could forecast nor place bet upon. ;) Have the mighty fallen, ??? have the low born risen!!!!!!? :-/ NO!!! My friends I say again NO!!! ;) The mighty have not fallen, though they will in time, ;) the low born have not risen, though they too may one day achieve greatness, ;D no my friends the truth is a simple one, the table was SHIT and we played it better than they did. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Ha ha ha never mind I've been to the pub already can you tell? ??? ???
A good night in fairness regardless of how BAAAAAAD the table was, Alan fell at the first uncharacteristically not getting to grips with pace, nor roll, twice missing the same ball in the right corner losing good scores with pegs and all. >:( :'( Contrary to that Papa Hall seemed relatively comfortable the entire match. :D
Same story in the match with Lee and Andy Lee managing to to score heavily several times but not able to keep it, strange rolls and an inordinate amount of white pegs. capping it off at the end with the game well lost knocking the black over. Again big Andy never really under any pressure :D :D
No one seemed to want to win this one, Jean and Kev tussled a close fought match, both players missing balls, breaks and anything else missable, again both players falling foul of the dodgy top. Kev finally managed to get his nose in front only to have Jean smack it sharply by wining on the last ball. :D :D
Marcus against Adam in the next and you guessed it more bad luck for the Bridge, again a close fought scrappy match with Marcus struggling as much as Adam with the top, difference was Marcus hit more pegs than Adam did, then with the bar down and 1400 behind Marcus finally potted the last few and then promptly joined Lee in the corner with the other black peg that was unceremoniously knocked over. ;D ;D
And so onto yours truly and young Kev 'stonehead' Stoner, I won the toss and promptly went on first and promptly missed my split, evens break and so did Kev, to be fair we both did faff around for a bit, then I nicked the break back and slipped in 2k, and to be fair on that top, this night, was some achievement. Kev promptly got the break back as well and scored 600 or so, I came on and fluked the break back and promptly slipped in another 3k just to prove I could. ;D ;D ;D ;D
Great banter from the Bridge lot and a lovely spread of grub to which the salad dodging trough monsters of my team devoured in record time. A great evening spoiled for some by a SHIT and I shall say again SHIT table come on Black Horse get your act together!!!! (alan have i mentioned how shit the table was enough for you? You did ask that i mention it) ;D ;D
Commiserations to The Bridge, congratulations to my guys, and to Kevin 'reaper' Hall remember its better to be the only loser than the only winner! ;) ;)
Bring on the League!!!!
Bring on Finals Night!!!!
