Result card for plough v nags head a
Ali towler 1330 v 1980 Pete Crabtree Fred Pope 5780 v 650 Steve McGill Alex Pope 3110 v 2020 ewan Smith Colin Southouse 14420 v 450 Steve Featherstone Stewart Chant 3710 v 1120 Sean Croft
Result the plough win 4-1
Peter opened with a small break and stayed the same amount ahead of Ali for the rest of the game, the balls were on the side of the visitors and Ali missed a few key shots due to lack of experience but is learning all the time. Fred achieved a new all time pb tonight against the in form Steve with Fred compiling a 2k and 3k break and losing a further 1.8k. Steve was on the wrong side of th balls tonight with nothing going his way except falling pegs. Alec though not playing confidently maintained and increased his lead against Ewan who Regained the break on several occasions but failed to capitalise on his advantage leaving Alec to take the third game. Colin fluffed his first break and for the first 2-3 mins looked like a novice but then recovered the break to make 5k and immediately after another 8k to leave badger down and out. Stewart generally played steadily and after an early flirtation with and felling the black peg (here we go again) Stewart got the better of Sean continuing to increase his lead and taking the final game to record a 4-1 win for the home side Nice really hot curry tonight for Badgers benefit, what's happened to Amelia?

Jenny Lind v Plough at Jenny Lind
Ray Norton 1720 v 2990 Stewart Chant Andrew Lipscombe 1310 v 8940 Colin Southouse away Brks 2500, 5670 Billy Skinner 610 v 2770 Fred Pope Keith Challis 1490 v 2020 Rez Rizai Andy Horsley 510 v 4530 Alec Pope
Result The Plough win 5-0
Stewart lost his opening break to give Ray an opportunity but a couple of 1ks from Stewart gave him a lead that Ray was unable make inroads to. Andrew started steadily to give Colin something to think about, but a 2.5k and 5.5k break kept the visitors aspirations on a high Fred continued his good form against Billy, getting and keeping small breaks to take the third game and the match Rez had a tight match with Keith, with Rez coming back from a short break scoring regularly was nearly 1.5k ahead with only a few minutes to go but a good fight back from Keith gave him a chance, the bar came to the rescue though Keith recorded a new seasons PB. Alec with a new relaxed persona had the measure of Andy at the start and extended his lead throughout the game to give the visitors the 5-0 and 12 useful points Nice Sarnies from Keith and an enjoyable evening with a Smashing Tarrott Top and good company

Alec Pope 2810 v 2570 Phil Osborne Rez Razai 2410 v 3440 Chris Haynes Stewart Chant 1870 v 3420 Mick Caistor Fred Pope 420 v 5820 Bob Osborne Colin Southouse 7480 v 2700 Dave White The Ash A win 3-2 Alec and Phil were swapping small breaks for most of the first game but when a ball lodged against the left peg things slowed down drastically, with Alec 380 ahead at the bar all was not lost for Phil till a peg was toppled. Rez was off very early leaving Chris to capitalise on Rez's lack of match practice gradually increasing his lead on a table that was playing difficult for no apparent reason Stewart struggled against the steady play of Micky Caistor, and was always behind the run rate with Micky improving with each break Fred opened well and was on a nice break but pegged leaving Bob in the driving seat the rest of the game with Bob getting a few medium sized breaks on the way to a creditable 5820 on the tricky Plough Top and taking the Match with a game to spare. Dave was off early leaving Colin to take a 2.5k lead followed quickly by a 4k to leave the last game secure Another great evening with our Ash mates only marred by few idiots at the bar playing with the juke box volume controls, somewhat distracting
Great chicken casserole thingy from the lord Martin many thanks for your continued support

Competition results for games Played 18th Dec at The Royal Albert
Stewart Chant & Colin Southouse 1620 & 5140 v 1400 & 1500 Andy Ellison & Chris Lamb
Colin Southouse 6910 & 7310 v 1610 & 450 Dave Pearce
Interestingly only Andy Ellison was able to put enough LHS on the cue ball to get the Right Break, once Colin got the left break all was rosey
We did notice that the right side cushion was wider than the left cushion making the right hand 50 about 6mm closer to the cushion than the left hand 50, any rules on this?

Hi Hastings BB fans
League week 9 results card Ashburnham B v The Plough
Ron Young 4060 v 1020 Ali Towler Mick Osborne 1560 v 12570 Colin Southouse Sandy Harmer 2900 v 2490 Fred Pope Roy Harmer 8880 v 1800 Nigel Pead Chris Sexton 4790 v 1270 Rez Rizai
Result The Ash win 4-1 Though the score line does not show the actual closeness of most games
Ali was ahead of the Young Ronnie for the 1st Half but a nice 2k from Ron took the game away from an under par Ali, a couple of bad shots proved Alis downfall. Mike was off early leaving Colin to make 7.5k followed quickly by 5k Fred made a fair start leaving Sandy struggling, another 2 bad shots from fred near the end Gave sandy his opportunity to catch up and take the game with Fred 500 behind at the bar Roy opened with 2.5k Nigel replied with 1.5k, roy regained the break and never looked back Rez was away with the fairies for most of the game leaving Chris to forge ahead

Hi Hastings BB Fans
Week 10 Result card for The Plough V Royal Albert
Ali Towler 640 v 1690 Dennis Cole Rez Rizai 2860 v 0 Phil Lanbourne Fred Pope 1280 v 3690 Nick Speight Stewart Chant 2590 v 0 Geoff Smith Colin Southouse 4850 v 4190 Tony Gates
The Plough win 3-2
Denis opened with a small break but Ali was unable to get the break back and this was repeated through the game leaving Ali wondering what he has to do to not get drawn to play first in every game far. Rez on the other hand, after some intense training on cueing this week opened well with nice small opening break leaving Phil to feel like the table and the world was against him. Rez continued some uncharacteristically steady play( lets hope it continues) continued keeping small breaks rather than losing them ending up with a seasons high score and a well earned home win with Phil taking the black peg at the end. Well done Rez!
Nick opened OK played some steady shots deserving of his high league average. Fred replied a with a 1k break but lost it leaving Nick to forge ahead and Fred to remain in the doldrums until he got home.
Stewart opened well with a 1.5k, Geoff spent the whole game fighting Stewart and the table which was very tricky off break all night. Stewart then took an overdose of my "silly" tablets and Geoff borrowed some as well, both swapped misses for the rest the game and Geoff was always in contention but was unable to make a telling break, another black peg after the bar left Stewart the victor.
In the final game Tony opened with a nice 1.9k break which for over half the game seemed to be enough with Colin finishing off his supply of "silly" tablets and taking a long trip at the same time had just got to 200, but a quick 4.6k break near the end, luckily for him, left Tony on the break and catching up but the Bar sank the hopes of the Albert.

Nags A v the Plough
Steve McGill 4550 v 360 Ali Towler
Steve Featherstone 2020 v 5240 Nigel Pead
Sean Croft 2180 v 5590 Colin Southouse
Pete Crabtree 4750 v 2550 Fred Pope
Ewan Smith 1430 v 4790 Stewart Chant
The Plough wing 3-2
Ali again draw the opening spot and missed his opening shot leaving Steve to forge ahead, Ali had Plenty of chances to Catch up but the balls were not in his camp tonight with Ali losing all his future breaks Gifting the first game to the in form Suitcase of Steve McGill.
Badger was off early giving Nigel the opportunities he needed to build up a good lead, The break was recovered by both participants regularly but Nigel come out on top most times.
Colin was off early yet again helping Sean to keep in the chase for most of the game, at the end a 1.7k near the bar was enough to stop sean from taking Colins scalp.
Peter played well tonight opening with 2k, the deficit was maintained for the whole game thanks to Fred unfortunately losing key breaks which could have reversed the result.
with the scores 2-2 the decider was a nervous affair throughout with Stewart off early and Ewan not able to make a telling break, After some serious ribbing from his team mates amid 2k break from Stewart, focussing really hard the Game and match feel from Ewans clutches. But well done The Nags A, a team now capable of challenging all their opponents in Hastings

Plough v Jenny Lind
Stewart Chant 1610 v 1000 Andrew Lipscombe Fred Pope 2550 v 1130 Andy Horsler Alec Pope 1770 v 1380 Billy Skinner Nigel Pead 3270 v 1360 Ray Norton Colin Southouse 3610 v 750 Phil Roberts
Plough win 5-0
Andrew was off early, But Stew was unable to get the break back, both players found the table really tricky, no large breaks were made, Stewart slowly forged ahead opening up a 1k lead, Andrew fought back well and at the bar was working on a 400 break needing to clear to steel a well earned victory, but a missed ball near the 10 hole put paid to Andys win aspirations, a low scoring but very interesting game. Fred started well and opened up a good lead, which Andy failed to resolve, leaving Fred, who gave Andy a few chances through the game to take the 2nd game easily Alec and Bill played first due to the late arrival of the Eastbourne Erberts, I understand that Bill Played well and made several nice breaks but failed to deal with the table, as did we all, most of them were lost, Alec was on a small break at the bar which was enough to win the game. Nigel started ok opening up a small lead on Ray and gradually increased it, Ray was stuck in the Mud for long periods Leaving the 4th Game to the home team Phil missed his opening break shot, Colin was unable to get the break back giving Phil opportunities, but the table came to Colins rescue, recovering the break but on 3.5k a ball ended up behind the 10 and his shot round the 20 just missed, nothing in it, but Phil still struggled, leaving Colin to eventually play out with a 1.5k break All the games tonight were a lot closer than the final result suggests
A nice curry from martin was very well received by all
Followed by a couple of games of 4pin for 1st timers Alec,Fred and Nigel watched in disbelief by our guests the jeny Lind. Mike Osborne has made his first set of 4 mushrooms the cost being £20.00
Will anyone from Hastings take on the plough challenge?

Ash A v Plough
Phil Osborne 1980 v 3980 Stewart Chant Chris Haynes 3410 v 4400 Alec Pope Dave White 250 v 16620 Colin Southouse Gareth Dell 5500 v 1970 Fred Pope Mick Caistor 1240 v 3540 Nigel Pead
result The Plough win 4-1
Stewart openned with un uncharacteristically steady 3k break putting Phil under some pressure, after a few misses by both Stewart got the break back and someone managed a 5k break, don't know who it was but Stewart was at the table, and looking at a 9k total, then another deja vous moment when a ball behind the 30 was missed, ah that's more like the Stewart we all love. sadly for Phil got the break back but " come in number 1 your time is up" echoed through the changing rooms!
Alec opened with 1.5k with Chris responding well to keep in touch, honours were shared throughout game and either player could have taken the rossette but with the visitors on the break at the bar, it was Alecs match.
Colin opened with a small break but Dave failed to recover the break, colin did and was 11k ahead before his tuck, followed straight away by a playout to record a league PB
Gareth was 2k ahead early on and Fred kept scoring a few but remained behind Gareth for the whole game, there were plenty of opportunities for both, Gareth continued to creep further ahead until the bar.
Nigel was hoping for a good start on the Ash top following a few unlucky draws at this venue leaving him with not much to show from his previous journeys here and nice 1k break was satisfactory to see him off the mark at last but a foul followed, Mick struggled a bit with his cueing enabling Nigel to get another 3k which was also lost leaving the scores level, at last a 3k to savour left a nice taste in the mouth for the visitors, giving the out of form Mick little chance to fight back leaving the visitors happily contemplating their unexpected 4-1 away win to the Ash who are missing some key players

Plough v OKJ
Fred Pope 1400 v 1980 Graham Dean Stewart Chant 2460 v 920 Nigel Doe Ali Towler1350 v 3170 Andy Eldridge Colin Southouse 7000 v 1750 Mark Bailey Alec Pope bp v 2880 Andy Ellison
Result OKJ win 3-2
Graham opened up a lead and maintained it through the game Fred found plenty of ways to not score and graham did the opposite. There was some trickiness at the bottom of the table all night and Stewart and Nigel were sharing their bad luck but Stewart was just ahead at the bar. Ali again ended up playing the 3rd Game 1st against Andy, As I arrived late AE will comment on this game Colin got the break 1st time but lipped the split into the white peg, mark failed to make a reasonable break and swapped misses his opponent for a while, but a recovery and a quick 5k break from Colin half way through gave Mark little opportunity to his challenge Andy openend the decider with a nice 1k break which was unable to chase down, with the bottom being so tricky it was essential for to get the break back, but it was not to be, a quietly satisfied Andy reeping the spoils following a missed 200 attempt from Alec at the end
well done to the OKJ winning the last league game on a tricky as ever Plough top and missing Chris lamb as well
