Colin played Phil Osborne tonight in the singles I opened with 5k but thought Phil needed an opportunity so I deliberately missed a shot behind the 10 hole to lose it did the same to a 2k again later in the game to leave Phil needing to play out to sneak a win by 50, I like to feel I give a fair chance to my opponents now and then The 2nd game was marginally easier for Phil who opened with a faultless 11k and tuck followed by a faultless play out achieving a seasons pb of 16590 Well done Philipe good luck in the next round Regs cs

Well done to the okj just pipping the plough in the rix knockout cup on Wednesday, all the games could have gone the other way but the okj took the decider thanks to Andy Eldridge on a small winning break at the bar leave Stewart Chant in orbit somewhere. Plenty of ribbing from both sides and lots of spectators as well, all the way it should be and therefore glad to be part of the Hastings set up....ps sorry about the Subo concert on Sunday

It always best to let sleeping dogs lie, at least he wasn't scoring at the time We will have to start calling him "Chingachgoof the last of the EastHecans" Someone also took a more colourful snap which I doubt will be able to be posted Attachments:

Well what a great day yesterday was! The thanks should all go to the volunteers (Sean Croft, Bob Osborne, Dave White, Roy Harmer and Dave Pearce) who started at 8am setting everything up for the 12pm start. We got mostly everything done by 10:30 which was amazing considering the workload and only having six helpers to go sort out four tables. Thanks also to the Eastbourne lads and Shaun Keyes who turned up at 10am to help out only to find there wasn't much to do.
Thank you to everyone who participated, you all made it a great competition. Congratulations to Mike Daw on beating me in the final and congratulations to Roy Harmer on beating Alec Pope in the Plate final.
The highest break of the day was 13,060 by Colin Southouse in the first round on T2 against Phil Roberts. The highest aggregate score of the day was 21,530 by Colin Southouse also in the first round on T2. The highest losing aggregate score of the day was 9,290 by Bob Osborne in the semi final on T2 against Sandy Harmer. The highest losing single leg score of the day was 4,690 by Chris Turner in the quarter finals on T1 against Bob Osborne.
Aggregate scores over 10k: 21,530 Colin Southouse T2 21,340 Mike Daw T2 16,190 Mike Daw T2 14,820 Phil Osborne T2 14,420 Colin Southouse T1 13,280 Sandy Harmer T4 12,350 Roy Harmer T2 10,670 Sandy Harmer T2 10,340 Colin Southouse T3 10,300 Bob Osborne T1 10,190 Sandy Harmer T1 10,100 Mike Daw T4
The final thanks goes to Darren Turner from the Royal Albert. Without Darren this event wouldn't have been possible, he bent over backwards to accommodate us even with the complications that we faced. He also paid for the tables in exchange for the sponsorship although the tables cost £15 extra than the fee we agreed for the sponsorship.
We go again Wednesday evening with the 2014 Finals Night. The line up is as follows:
8:00 T1 Captains Final: Colin Southouse v Tony Gates 8:00 T4 Lower Averages Final: Stewart Chant v Steve McGill 9:15 T2 Pairs Final: Colin Southouse and Stewart Chant v Mike Daw and Nick Speight 10:30 Presentations
