Blue Islands website only say fom London City Airport not Gatwick Sorry, should have mentioned that, however by May they may be flying direct, to Guernsey, missing out the Jersey connection. A couple we know well have just taken over the lease for La Michelle Guest House (Licensed) on the St Peter Port/St Martins border. Close to where I live and Fermain Bay area. I will ask if they will be open for May and put prices and contact details up as soon as I know them. Has anyone looked at St Pierre Park just down the road where Mr H has stayed in the past I think ?

Peeps I can look into other hotels near the Rocquettes if you don't mind a short walk. Two hotels come to mind are the Grange Lodge Hotel 5 minute walk and Abbey Court Hotel 2 minute walk I`m sure there are web sites for these champs have you got prices for those 2 Hotels ?

Luke You haven't stated anything different its £108 per room per night. If 2 people share that room then its £54 each.
Single person though will have to pay £80 each

Strange thing happened today. Through the les rocquettes website I filled in a special offer enquiry form for 3 nights from the 2nd May 2014. I had an e-mail back saying for a standard double room for these dates would be £390 and they had made a reservation for me. I e-mailed back and said I was surprised they had made a reservation as it was a special offer enquiry form and nothing else and that I didnt want to make the booking.
Heres the reply I received
I do apologise for misunderstanding. Res No: RH001733 will be cancelled
With regards to your enquiry we can offer you ensuite Superior Double room from 2nd May 2014 for 3 nights. The total cost on Bed and Breakfast basis would be £248.00 for 3 nights stay for 2 people. It’s our Midsummer Madness offer 3 nights for 2.
If you wish to stay on Half Board basis it will be a supplement of £18.00 per person for the evening meal. If you wish to make a reservation please do not hesitate to contact us.
Kind regards, Olesia
Front Office
The bar billiard special rate would be £324. Perhaps people should go for the Midsummer Madness Rate of £248 !!!

Hi
I phoned the hotel direct and got 3 nights BB on 2 sharing for £248.
They quoted £328 first and I told them that they have quoted others cheaper . They then came back with £300 . It was only when I mentioned the deal they were offering on their website that they quoted £248. So all booked up now.

Truly glad for you Curt... but really very annoyed to say the least, for others including ourselves, we really wanted to stay at the venue but the original price for three days was just too much.. We, as have many others booked outside, as we could not wait as prices rise quickly re air and sea let alone hotel fees. We fully support the Guersnsey Open and the organisers, but I feel for Dave and Colleen for example who have paid £224 for two nights suddenly £24 more they could have done 3 but have booked their flights!!!
The hotel has really acted inappropriately here in terms of rates, which is a shame as the accommodation and food are really good.
I do hope someone from Guernsey is going to seriously look at this for the future.

I agree with everything you say Chris. There is so much difference in the rates for the same weekend it's ridiculous. The first price I was given was £390 the bar billiard rate £324 and then the midsummer madness offer of £248. How can a hotel quote so many different prices for the same 3 days?
I like the hotel and would probably have gone for 3 nights at £248 but as you say booking needed to be done especially as we got the last available room at the other hotel.
Perhaps I shouldn't have sent off their offer enquiry form (especially as I had already booked) and then no-one would be any the wiser. Feel a bit guilty now as I know everyone running these competitions do their best.
Also not sure what's going to happen now as I know someone tried to book tonight and were told to ring back tomorrow as they needed to speak to their supervisor

I remain hopeful that there will be a satisfactory conclusion that allows us to stay at the hotel for the special "Midsummer Madness" rate that has been offered to others..... if not, then I will cancel the reservation and stay at another hotel on the island. Perhaps a good way to resolve it, Dave, would be for you to blag the free night which you weren't going to get !

I have been quoted £124 per night for a twin room (no mention of free nights!) or £67 for a single room per night! Maybe if they are not supposed to be offering this for Bar Billiards players - just don't tell them you are playing bar billiards!

Dave, isn't that "free night" offer out of date ?
I'm looking at all this myself as I may be going if I can get someone to do my round.

Keith this is what the hotel e-mailed to me when I enquired about any offers.
The prices I have been offered so far are:
£390 short break special offer £346 website price £324 Bar Billiard Price £248 Midsummer Madness Offer
There is a hell of a lot of difference in the prices which are all for 3 nights b & b 2.5.14 to 5.5.14

Petrified%From now on the 2014 Guernsey Open will be known as the Midsummer Madness Open We are looking for sponsorship to award prizes to entrants who can find the cheapest accomodation deal. And a prize for those who can find the most expensive accomodation deal. And a special prize to the person who can find a Hotel deal at a Hotel that is the furthest distance away from Les Rocquettes. My other half is the current world record holder for accidently finding the most expensive hotel available ... if only i got paid overtimne

That's a good price £248=£124 each person sharing (blimey! I'm good at maths ) But I'm travelling alone so would need a single room at £201. I've never gone anywhere on my own so I'll probably end up in Turkey ! Keith
