I can't promise him a game, but if there are any drop outs he can step in.

Ah there is a reason! As Chris didn't become available until late, we had made the time/table alterations so that the bye games were early. This helps people travelling not having to arrive so early. We then instructed them that should they wish they can arrive for their 2nd round match. So the chances are that the 5 players fortunate to get a bye will not be there for Chris to play. Hope that makes sense. More than likely we will have a no show anyway and these can be more problematic, depending on where in the draw they occur.

I can't promise him a game, but if there are any drop outs he can step in. I am unable to play on Sunday as I am unwell, he can therefore take my place in the draw. Regards Colin

Postcode as kindly supplied by Sav.
Mossy - it can be a bit of a devil to find on your first visit by car. You should be able to find Bletchingley Road easily enough, and Worsted Green drops off it (two accesses) to run parallel. In turn, two roads drop off Worsted Green, one is Weldon Way and the other is Taynton Drive......these loop round and eventually meet up together near the school entrance. Go through the gates, and up the drive and you reach the school hall on your right. When leaving, carry on in the same direction, the path goes over several ramps and swings round to the left, eventually bringing you to the same gates.

There's an automatically opening exit gate as well by following the one-way system, just don't swing left at the end.

Just got back after spectating this one and witnessed some amazing performances. The Eastbourne/Hastings guys once again had a good day, Mike Daw being the pick of the bunch in taking out Nigel at a late stage. Earlier BBW had been forced to peak too early when Sandy Harmer played out the first leg with 13k. He managed 15k in reply. Another coming through after a stern test was Milko: Foxy played out leg 1 with 15k, Milko countered with 17k. Think the last eight were Brewster, Driver, K.T., Mike Daw, Barry Radford, Pete Sainsbury, Paul Sainsbury and Keith Sheard. But correct me if I'm wrong as having been let out on the long leash I over-indulged in the sauce a bit. A good day, good catering by Colin as usual, and and the cakes baked by the Redhill Ladies are always worth sampling !

Congratulations to Kevin Tunstall is his victory at the Surrey Open today.... Tommo was obviously still (reasonably) sober when he remembered this.... Think the last eight were Brewster, Driver, K.T., Mike Daw, Barry Radford, Pete Sainsbury, Paul Sainsbury and Keith Sheard. The quarter-finalists were.... Barry Radford beat Pete Sainsbury Paul Sainsbury lost to Keith Sheard Mark Brewster lost to Curt Driver Kevin Tunstall beat Mike Daw In the semi-finals.... Barry opened with a steady 11.5k break, Keith finished the game with 1k. Keith broke down on 4k in his reply but was first to get the balls back, came off after 2k and Barry finished the game off to reach his first Open final. KT ran the table out with the highest break of the day (22,460), Curt missed fairly early in his reply and conceded. I didn't see the final as I was scoring the Plate Final, but think Barry opened with about 6k, KT replied with about 5k and that gap was about the difference at the end of the first leg. Kevin won the second leg and Barry conceded near the end. Geoff Jukes won the Plate Final, beating Damian Coates.... only 50 points between the two of them after the first leg but Geoff touched on 10k in his break game and Damian conceded shortly afterwards. Terry Oakley & Colin Robbins were the Plate Seni-Finalists with John Slee, Simon Coleman, Gareth Lloyd and Mal Spier completing an impressive list of Plate Quarter-Finalists. Dawn Jordan won the Ladies High Break Award with 7k plus, Tony Cross was the furthest Surrey player and Sandra Hall, Genette Nicholls and Colleen Park shared the award for Furthest Lady as they all reached the third round. A huge THANK YOU to everybody involved in organising and running the day, especially Dave & Caroline Jones on the Admin Desk, Gary Powell, Colin Robbins for his great food and Stephen & Simon Coleman for collecting the tables.
