John was a legend in the Redhill league during the 70's and 80's, he was a great player but more importantly he was a gentleman, he always had time for all us younger players in the 70's and we all looked up to him and aspired to play like him. He will be sorely missed.

OMG John was my hero along with my Dad of coarse, I remember playing ill from school to watch him play on Indoor League! And I remeber when I won my first league title with my team at The Greyhound won the league it was John who presented the trophies. Made my season complete. RIP John and indeed my thoughts go out to the lovely Eileen and family

RIP John and indeed my thoughts go out to the lovely Eileen and family Just been researching this, Jim, and John Peters was indeed a legend as he actually WON Indoor League in 1975......beat the reigning champ John Baker from Tunbridge Wells in an exciting final and was presented with a Gold Medal plus £150 - a lot of money in those days !
