This is great news - really pleased to see that your hard work's starting to pay off! Looks like the York team needs to head down to Sheffield for a return match in the near future then...

That's well filmed, and nothing to be ashamed of ! Both players producing some good shots and finishing just below or just over a thousand. The table (though well worn with use) seems to play very straight, unlike some of the non-league ones I've played on in London ! Two tips - you can place the ball anywhere on the 'D' to get a better angle for a shot - both players seemed to be playing "off-the-spot" (more difficult version of the game). And when the player called himself up for a foul for not using the red, you don't have to....although you do have to in 4-pin. All the best as you move the game forward in northern counties. tommo Pic here of the Gardeners Rest table: Attachment Deleted

Brilliant ! Only decent TV coverage the game has ever had was 30 years ago, Yorkshire TV's Indoor League......
Perhaps your mate could push for this to be resurrected, maybe with Geoffrey Boycott taking over the Freddie Trueman role of master of ceremonies. (Can just imagine it: "That's a terrible shot, what's he playing at ? Keep the cue straight and keep your eye on the ball !")

Maybe if you did get the chance of TV coverage, you could organise an exhibition match, against another county. I know we currently hold one against Sussex (The Kipling Challenge cup) which gets played every few years (unfortunately doesn't quite reach the heights of TV!) and is great fun, and a great chance to meet and play new people!

Yep, just tuned in and it was a worthy broadcast featuring Steve at the Cross Scythes.....
Some good shots were caught in the action including a 3-ball clearance, and a nice pull-back red into the 100 hole.
A good plug for Guernsey and Jersey at the end.
May the S.Yorks revival continue and maintain impetus !

A very good interview and some good views of the table and the shots - except the one that mounted the cushion of course! Everyone is very impressed with what you are doing oop north. cheers Tony

Hi I'm going to be in Sheffield next year to watch some snooker at the crucible. I think it's on the Sunday morning of the middle weekend. I will prob come up on the fri so would be good to meet up and have a few games with you. I see from the utube clip you play on what looks like a supreme table ?? Not played on that type of table before Curt

Well done Steve, a PB (personal best) is always cause for celebration. A decent game is still possible on Supreme tables when set up correctly as they are the 'normal width'. I played on a good one in Blindley Heath (Surrey) a few months back. That one was non-league of course, but from memory I think there is one in Oxfordshire which is looked after by Barbelman. A personal appearance from the England Captain, eh ? And he's got his name in the Guinness Book..........Hope he's not intending to charge. May be a good idea to get the TV crew along that night though.
