Hikers Rest to back pack to a 3-2 win over the Black Horse (the sign on the bank not helping the visitors tonight) although the draw and the use of handicaps could play a big part.
Plough with the constellation not shining so bright to night will lose 2-3 at home to the Albion who although having been made homeless will work through the captains inept use of handicaps will battle through.
Cock although having home advantage will not stop the balls shown by the Laughing Fish winkles and coming through with a 3-2 home win.
The Laughing Fish King Prawns captain will have to scratch his head hard and think about what he is going to do with the massive handicap, after all consideration my prediction is that the home team will overcome the arias from the opera society from Glynde and swim away with a 3-2 home win.
The Hospital Club get bed rest this week and will relax having bed baths to build their strength allowing them to nurse their wounds before coming back next series of games having had a full recovery.

Thanks for putting this thread up Tony, with everything else going on this weekend I had forgotten all about this! Here are the fixtures for this week.... (4,800) Hikers Rest 3 - 2 Black Horse (2,800) (2,700) Plough Plumpton 2 - 3 Albion (Hollingbury) (3,400)(2,500) Cock'n'Balls 3 - 2 Laughing Fish W (3,100) (4,700) Laughing Fish K 1 - 4 Glynde Club (4,800)Hospital Club (2,500) have a bye this week
Here are my thoughts on these.... for what they are worth! (4,800) Hikers Rest v Black Horse (2,800) Mixed reports recently about the table here mean that the visiting stallions could canter off with a win if they use the handicaps well while the back-packers will be hopeful that they don't get their boot laces tied together again this week. A 3-2 away win looks a possibility here. (2,700) Plough Plumpton v Albion (Hollingbury) (3,400) Will the visitors manage to find their way to the venue has to be the first question? Once "Captain Awesome" has overcome that problem he should be able to relax and enjoy the evening as he does not have to think about the handicap selections... which just leaves their unbeaten opponents for him to worry about. The Plough will be straight and narrow and will dig out a 3-2 home win. (2,500) Cock'n'Balls v Laughing Fish W (3,100) The two bottom teams are both still looking for their first win in this competition, will the balls finally drop for the Cock or will the Fish giggle as they swim away with the points? A close 3-2 home win will stiffen the challenge for the rising Cock team. (4,700) Laughing Fish K v Glynde Club (4,800) Oh, what a dilemma for the home captain as he has to choose 3 players to receive the huge handicap start for the first time ever! The pressure is on with the league cup leaders hosting the league leaders in what is sure to be a close match. The handicaps will make no difference but the draw will be important for both teams.... a 3-2 home win will keep the Kippers swimming at the top of the pond in a high scoring encounter. Hospital Club (2,500) have a bye this week
.... a chance for the doctors to heal their wounds after being cut to shreds by a runaway Plough last week.

Hikers v black horse
Hard to call this one, a 2k start with 3 breaks will be a hurdle successfully jumped by the black horse 3-2 away win
Plough v albion
A lot depending on the breaks here, but the plough will furrow the brows of the visitors with a 3-2 home win
Cock v w's
The cock will come out tonight and embarrass the jockular whiteies sneaking a 3-2 home win
K's v glynde
Really looking forward to this match, the k,s would expect a home win and my head would probably agree but my heart has other ideas, the glynde club will trawl out a match winning cod piece protecting the visitors cueing 3 times tonight leaving the kippers high and dry and liberally doused in a bearnaise sauce for the starter in a 3-2 away win
The hospital are under doctors orders, with the table levelled and the timer repaired, what do they need a new slate for? ......comments on a post card to mr s claus, to arrrive no later than 1/4/15. Donations will be accepted and made payable to mr S Chant c/o witherspoons eastbourne

Shocking puns again this week.....going to be short and sweet, just like my awesome awful performances over the weekend. My one victory over that very nice man from the GC. No humour as well, used it all up, mostly on Sunday after I had put away all the tables (I only twisted the legs really)..... (4,800) Hikers Rest v Black Horse (2,800) - wow 2000 handicaps to give away means a definite away win. Big Al needs more time to recover after 'carrying' Legs Stoner (inebriated on Saturday but sober on Sunday) all the way to the Sussex Doubles final - 2-3 (2,700) Plough Plumpton v Albion (Hollingbury) (3,400) - 'My' team are very confident of success after our thrilling league win there earlier in the season. Won't get lost on the way or lose the match with Ros shaking at the thought of playing Jack again and Lana on top form in defeating Parky in the Sussex Ladies and Nige winning the Sussex Singles , only the captain had a shocker over the weekend - 2-3 (2,500) Cock'n'Balls v Laughing Fish W (3,100) - Going for the nice team at the Cock after they took our closing down celebrations so well last week 3-2 (4,700) Laughing Fish K v Glynde Club (4,800) - the Red t-shirt brotherhood is coming to a grizzly (good word) end after the refusal of lifts for a future tournament and older brother Leliott not winning a single match in either Singles or Doubles main comps at the weekend!!! Only 4 times champ and 'The Organiser' TJ are on form. The away team have a very nice captain but have to give away massive starts in 3 legs 3-2 Hospital Club (2,500) have a bye this week - no points for the HC this week, the hospital itself maybe required for immediate surgery on ear drums because of all the loud mouths over the weekend

Well hello x (that must be worth a bonus point!) Got a lot of catching up to do so hopefully that lovely Mr Dave will give me lots of bonus points before I start. Could I please have one because I haven't got a clue what I'm doing! Also for letting you know that anagrams mean .... Well anagrams x
Ok here goes....
Hikers Rest v Black Horse Not sure the Bracks have recovered from the weekend yet (well it is only Monday) although we have some great HE STRIKERS of the ball and a not too bad SHE STRIKER (hopefully also of the ball). THERES RISK here tonight for the home team if the BLACK HEROS use their handicaps well. 3-2 - Away win
Plough v Hollingbury OH GULP - no idea here whatsoever. If the Captain gets lost again they all could be going on a HILLY BOG RUN to get to the venue if this rain keeps up. After the amount of alcohol consumed at the weekend they could turn up looking like very wet ALBINO rabbits. 3 - 2 Home Win
CocknBalls v Laughing Fish W The WAILING FISH HUG but is it because they win or are they drowning their sorrows? - I don't know haven't got a clue! The BALLSnCOCK (ok it's rubbish) could win this one but then again they could lose 3-2 Away win
Laughing Fish K v Glynde Club Will there be discord amongst the team tonight? Will Mr L forgive his Captain for not giving him a lift in a couple of weeks and some (I thought rather good) suggestions for team members? Will Mr L be on a mission after he's early exits at the weekend? Will Mr Captain know what he's supposed to do with the handicaps? Or will he phone a friend? All these questions to which I have no answer ! One things for sure Mr Captain will be relieved there's no Brackenridge to be seen tonight x The away team LED BY CLUNG (well you do better!) put up a good fight here but the FISH KING LAUGH at the end of the match with.... 4 - 1 Home win
Hospital Club v Bye There will be no UH BALLS TOPIC tonight as there are no balls to be hit in this match. My forecast for this match will be 1. No balls potted 2. No white pegs 3. No black pegs 4. No points scored 5. No points lost 6. No Result 0 - 0 Home Win & Lose & away win and Lose

Took so long working out Jean's anagrams nearly didn't leave time for this weeks tips but here goes. Hikers 3 Black Horse 2 A well rested Mr Muggridge will help the worn out Brackenridge's to a 3 2 victory. Plough 3 Albion 2 If the Plough use their handicaps wisely will guide their way to a win , but certain to be a racaous evening if Silent's sat nav gets them there. Cock 3 Laughing Fish W 2 Many close games this evening but with a 600 handicap , the Cock to keep the Whitebait floundering at the bottom of the League. Laughing Fish K 2 Glynde 3 With such a little handicap to take effect , all 5 games to go with the break. In a vain effort to keep up , I predict Jean to gain the most bonus points this evening.

Okay, with all of the results now in it's time to do some marking. BigTJ is first... Hikers Rest to back pack to a 3-2 win over the Black Horse (the sign on the bank not helping the visitors tonight) although the draw and the use of handicaps could play a big part. Spot on for 3 points and an overdrawn bonus point for the bank reference. Plough with the constellation not shining so bright to night will lose 2-3 at home to the Albion who although having been made homeless will work through the captains inept use of handicaps will battle through. The stars were certainly shining on you with this prediction. 3 points for correct result and a humorous homeless bonus. Cock although having home advantage will not stop the balls shown by the Laughing Fish winkles and coming through with a 3-2 home win. Another correct result for 3 points and I did like the winkles reference for a bonus. The Laughing Fish King Prawns captain will have to scratch his head hard and think about what he is going to do with the massive handicap, after all consideration my prediction is that the home team will overcome the arias from the opera society from Glynde and swim away with a 3-2 home win. I think that having the handicaps pschologically scarred the home team on the night as they crashed to a heavy defeat.... ....just the one point for humour here. The Hospital Club get bed rest this week and will relax having bed baths to build their strength allowing them to nurse their wounds before coming back next series of games having had a full recovery. Worth a bonus point for the bed bath. BigTJ - 14 points

Okay, me next.... The back-packers overcame the handicaps that didn't actually affect any of the results... just 1 point for topical references. Captain Awesome led his team to victory so only just a bonus point here for me. Spot on for 3 points plus a bonus for the (pretty poor) references. Well, it was high scoring (by the visitors) and the handicaps didn't make a blind bit of difference.... just the 1 point here which was given more in sympathy than anything else! Hospital Club (2,500) have a bye this week .... a chance for the doctors to heal their wounds after being cut to shreds by a runaway Plough last week.
Worth a bonus point.... just! How did Gandalf get on.... Hikers v black horse Hard to call this one, a 2k start with 3 breaks will be a hurdle successfully jumped by the black horse 3-2 away win The Horse obviously fell at the third leaving you pointless apart from a bonus for humour. Plough v albion A lot depending on the breaks here, but the plough will furrow the brows of the visitors with a 3-2 home win The marker furrowed his brow to see if this was really worth a bonus.... and decided to be kind. 1 point only. Cock v w's The cock will come out tonight and embarrass the jockular whiteies sneaking a 3-2 home win Yes, spot on for 3 points here. K's v glynde Really looking forward to this match, the k,s would expect a home win and my head would probably agree but my heart has other ideas, the glynde club will trawl out a match winning cod piece protecting the visitors cueing 3 times tonight leaving the kippers high and dry and liberally doused in a bearnaise sauce for the starter in a 3-2 away win The bearnaise sauce was a bit rich for my liking but the Kippers were well and truly filleted on the night... 1 point for the away win and 1 point for humour. The hospital are under doctors orders, with the table levelled and the timer repaired, what do they need a new slate for? ......comments on a post card to mr s claus, to arrrive no later than 1/4/15. Donations will be accepted and made payable to mr S Chant c/o witherspoons eastbourne A final bonus point for your efforts to fix the table here.... the post card to Santa (Lewes Committee) has already been sent but I think that I must be on the "naughty list" as I received no reply to my second message. Silent is next.... Shocking puns again this week.....going to be short and sweet, just like my awesome awful performances over the weekend. My one victory over that very nice man from the GC. No humour as well, used it all up, mostly on Sunday after I had put away all the tables (I only twisted the legs really)..... I think that you earned a bonus point for your "awesome" performance twisting the legs off the tables. (4,800) Hikers Rest v Black Horse (2,800) - wow 2000 handicaps to give away means a definite away win. Big Al needs more time to recover after 'carrying' Legs Stoner (inebriated on Saturday but sober on Sunday) all the way to the Sussex Doubles final - 2-3 Although Little Legs was clearly still hungover, Big Al continued his great form over the weekend to overcome the handicap and give his team victory.... no points for the result but a bonus given for humourous references. (2,700) Plough Plumpton v Albion (Hollingbury) (3,400) - 'My' team are very confident of success after our thrilling league win there earlier in the season. Won't get lost on the way or lose the match with Ros shaking at the thought of playing Jack again and Lana on top form in defeating Parky in the Sussex Ladies and Nige winning the Sussex Singles , only the captain had a shocker over the weekend - 2-3 3 points for a correct prediction, luckily the awesome performance by the captain overcame the (near) deduction for Parky reference to gain the bonus point. (2,500) Cock'n'Balls v Laughing Fish W (3,100) - Going for the nice team at the Cock after they took our closing down celebrations so well last week 3-2 Oh dear, somebody pass me a bucket.... .... 3 good points here and I suppose I have to be as nice as you and give you a bonus point as well! (4,700) Laughing Fish K v Glynde Club (4,800) - the Red t-shirt brotherhood is coming to a grizzly (good word) end after the refusal of lifts for a future tournament and older brother Leliott not winning a single match in either Singles or Doubles main comps at the weekend!!! Only 4 times champ and 'The Organiser' TJ are on form. The away team have a very nice captain but have to give away massive starts in 3 legs 3-2 I really enjoyed reading this one! Sadly, it was the Kippers team that came to a grizzly end as the "very nice" away captain led his team to a fine 4-1 win. No points for the result but a well earned bonus point for the humour. Hospital Club (2,500) have a bye this week - no points for the HC this week, the hospital itself maybe required for immediate surgery on ear drums because of all the loud mouths over the weekend Hmmm, think you could be right here so will give you a bonus point just to keep you quiet! Wow, we have a new player in the game and what a way to start in this competition! Well hello x (that must be worth a bonus point!) Why do ladies always assume that men will always give them anything if they give them a kiss when they say hello? Because they are right in 99% of cases! Of course you can have a bonus point Jean, welcome to the game. Got a lot of catching up to do so hopefully that lovely Mr Dave will give me lots of bonus points before I start. Could I please have one because I haven't got a clue what I'm doing! Also for letting you know that anagrams mean .... Well anagrams x Further flattery earns you another bonus point and I appreciated your wonderful explanation about anagrams so much that I will give you another bonus point.... no doubt the other contestants will now think that I am bias here! Let's get down to the serious stuff now.... 3-2 - Away win If it hadn't have been for the explanantion about anagrams I might have thought that we had a new "overseas" team in the League but the visitors handicaps didn't help so no points for the result. The anagrams certainly gain you 1 bonus point and a special "Brack" bonus point awarded as you both continued your good form from the weekend. 3 - 2 Home Win No points for the result with the visitors sneaking a 3-2 win.... but I loved the new names for the teams involved and those are definitely worth 1 bonus point each to give you 3 points anyway! CocknBalls v Laughing Fish W The WAILING FISH HUG but is it because they win or are they drowning their sorrows? - I don't know haven't got a clue! The BALLSnCOCK (ok it's rubbish) could win this one but then again they could lose 3-2 Away win Drowning their sorrows seems more likely at the moment after a 3-2 defeat.... only 1 bonus point here to give you a hug as I don't want you to turn into a wailing fish! 4 - 1 Home win So many questions asked in this post and (sadly) so many of the answers came back as "no"! The visitors, who were very well led by CLUNG (I love Colin's new name! ) swept to a 4-1 win so no points for you there.... but happy to give you a bonus point for CLUNG and another one as it was a "Brack-free-zone" for the night - even though the result was the same! Hospital Club v Bye There will be no UH BALLS TOPIC tonight as there are no balls to be hit in this match. My forecast for this match will be 1. No balls potted 2. No white pegs 3. No black pegs 4. No points scored 5. No points lost 6. No Result 0 - 0 Home Win & Lose & away win and Lose Hmmmm.... I think that you covered just about every possible option there so feel obliged to give you a bonus point. A further 4 points awarded for the innovative use of anagrams which took this tipsters thread up to new levels this week.... but Jean will need to think of something else new for next week to gain extra bonus points! JB - 16 points (despite only predicting the bye match as the correct result! )

That brings us to Little Legs.... Took so long working out Jean's anagrams nearly didn't leave time for this weeks tips but here goes. I will give you a bonus point for your efforts then. Hikers 3 Black Horse 2 A well rested Mr Muggridge will help the worn out Brackenridge's to a 3 2 victory. It looks as if Brian needed a longer rest while the Bracks carried you to 3 points for a correct prediction. Plough 3 Albion 2 If the Plough use their handicaps wisely will guide their way to a win , but certain to be a racaous evening if Silent's sat nav gets them there. No points for the result but a raucous bonus point given for the sat nav reference. Cock 3 Laughing Fish W 2 Many close games this evening but with a 600 handicap , the Cock to keep the Whitebait floundering at the bottom of the League. Spot on for the points and a well earned bonus to help you move up a "plaice" in the league for your fishy reference. Laughing Fish K 2 Glynde 3 With such a little handicap to take effect , all 5 games to go with the break. Just the one point for the away win here. In a vain effort to keep up , I predict Jean to gain the most bonus points this evening. Yes, that was a very safe bet and absolutely correct.... so THREE points awarded here for a correct prediction to give you a helping hand! Little Legs - 13 points

Not surprisingly, Jean wins the predictions section for this week.... JB - 16 points BigTJ - 14 Little Legs - 13 Silent - 12 BB Warrior - 8 Gandalf - 8 .... but what extra bonus points can we award? Gandalf (CLUNG) can have a bonus point for this.... .... although Silent was clearly not impressed with the use of anagrams.... Oh my, stick to the playing Mrs B......you're a champion at that...... .... on this occasion I agree entirely with "Whatsername" who gains a point for correctly saying this.... Unfair! You should lose marks for sour grapes. .... and I will DEDUCT 2 points from "TINSEL" for his poor sportsmanship! He does however gain a bonus point for managing to get his team safely to the Plough.... Made it there and back safely and directly in absolutely atrocious conditions.....well done the driver and the team .... showing perhaps that he did "LISTEN" to Lana the Navigator on this occasion. Gandalf can have a bonus point.... The skippers both winning in 1 visit, but the WC looked World Class .... for his toilet humour. I would have been kind and given him another point for this.... definate questionmark on the captains use of Jokers, might be discussed in the "House" later .... but he didn't add that until the following day so it lost its impact really! CLUNG does however gain another point for his (totally wrong) assumption that the League Cup is now just a 3 horse race.... Interesting league table with the Black horse , Glynde and Plough all with a chance of finishing top when only 2 points behind and a game in hand .... simply because I found it so amusing! On a final note.... I am going to give myself 2 bonus points for TINSEL and LISTEN as anagrams seem to be the theme of this week. So, here are the final points for this week.... JB - 16 + 0 bonus = 16 poiints BigTJ - 14 + 0 + 14 points Little Legs - 13 + 0 = 13 points Gandalf - 8 + 3 = 11 points Silent - 12 - 2 + 1 bonus = 11 points BB Warrior - 8 + 2 bonus = 10 points Whatsername (Ros) - 0 + 1 bonus - 1 point
