I just heard through twitter that the Minerva pub in Hull has acquired a table and are interested in getting a Hull league going. I see from the bar billiards map that there's a table in the Spring Bank Tavern in Hull - does anyone know if this table is definitely still there? I did a bit of googling and it looked like the future of the Spring Bank has been a bit doubtful... If it is still there I could advise the Minerva to contact them as a way of getting a league off the ground.

Interesting !
If you visit the thread "BBs in Yorks (North West and East Ridings)" you will see that the Minerva did have a bar billiards presence from 2011 to 2013. An article in the Daily Telegraph claimed that at one point they had 3 tables !
The landlord at the time joined our Forum under the handle Minervaman, but although we tried we were unable to engage him in any form of discussion.
A poem published on t'internet back in 2013 was bemoaning the loss of the bar billiards table so it seems the game never really took off there properly as planned. It looks an interesting (riverside) pub though, and a good venue for music.
Now it seems they are giving it another go - perhaps encouraged by the resurgence of the game in York and Sheffield. Which can only be good for Yorkshire!
Regarding the Spring Bank Tavern, we have no further details other than what was known at the time it was added to our map, and are reliant on feedback from people visiting or contacting the pub.

The Minerva's new table as displayed on Twitter: Note: It's set up for 4-Pin, and is a traditional 'narrow' table. I have tweeted about the forthcoming 4-Pin Open in Sudbury on 21st March.

I don't think the Spring Bank Tavern is even open any more, let alone the owner of a table.
