Hi all
I have been asked by Gary Powell if I could put together an England side to play a select team on Sunday 28th June at the Limes in Surrey. I have been informed there will be lots of billiards, playing different variations of our game.
When my team is finalised I will post on here.
I'm sure Gary will be on here soon to give details for the day.
Curt

I agree Chrissie, however gender didn't come into the selection, just ability.

Well done to the England side on their win in what was a great day and played in great spirit.
Thank you to the Limes for hosting, Gary for arranging and running the day, Colin for doing the food, the Redhill helpers who did the tables and to all that took part.
A special thank you for asking me to present the individual trophies and the winning teams trophy in the memory of Bill Kerr, for me it was an honour to be asked to play, and along with that being given the privelege of partnering Pauline Withey in the doubles, hopefully this challange match will be kept going, I know Bill would have love the day.
A good format with singles and doubles.

An excellent day of bar billiards and many thanks to all involved and organising the event, special thanks to Colin and Jackie in the kitchen, Jason and all his staff at the Limes and (of course) to Gary Powell for all of his hard work. The result was a win by the England team with a final score of 86 - 40 points but the games were all very competitive and were played in a great spirit as well. I am sure that someone will post all the scores at some time soon. Hopefully this special event will become a regular feature on the calendar in future years.

Another great day of billiards at the Limes. Thanks to all the organisers for a well run day.
A good win for the England side that was pitted against a very strong county team. There was a good atmos about the place all day and plenty of "silent" banter.
I do hope this can be a permanent fixture going forward and maybe, could include the ladies next year ??
I believe Nigel will be posting the scores when he gets the email through.
Thanks
Curt

A great days bar billiards on Sunday. Well done to all those who took part. The games were competitive (even Matts), but played in a friendly atmosphere and many a laugh was had. Well done England, you lived up to your status. I would like to make a special thank-you to the inter-county (or rest of the world!!) team. We gave a good account of ourselves against a very strong England side. Extra thanks to Pauline, Simon and Stephen for making the long journey down. Everyone contributed to our points total, including our late reserves (Jason & Colin). Some players proved they can be pairs specialists!! To echo Curt, I hope we can make this a regular match each year with a variety of selection options available. Cheers to all involved in both playing and helping.
