As if the thought of Gandalf fluttering his eyelashes at me wasn't sufficiently worrying, with this suggestion he has now moved the goalposts even further than those 4-pin pegs were moved recently....! Hmmmm.... what are the options available here now? 1) Accept his offer and actually make him do it.... wearing a blonde wig so he looks a bit like JB? 2) Get JB to actually do it on his behalf as he has impersonated her...?? 3) Give him "triple bubble" tipsters points? 4) Disqualify him from the tipsters competition? 5) Pretend that I have read this post at all and not give him any points this week?

Here are my thoughts on the games this week.... (2,800) Black Horse v Albion Hollingbury (3,400) Nige will be looking to maintain his 100% record in the League Cup and the Sudbury Mauler also plays the stable table well but the awesome visiting captain has struggled here which makes me think that the Stallions will canter to a 3-2 home win. (4,800) Hikers Rest v Hospital Club (2,500) The medical staff sit proudly in 2nd place in the League Cup competition, they have a good start in the handicap stakes which gives then a great chance to repeat their 3-2 win here in the League earlier this season. Little Legs and his team will be keen to gain revenge and will have lightened the rucsacs for this match, the heavy boots of the home team will prevail with a close 3-2 home win. (4,800) Glynde Club v Laughing Fish W (3,100) Just one point needed to secure the title for the home team.... the champagne will be on ice behind the bar and the open-top bus (okay, it's Gandalf's pick-up truck really!) will be waiting to take the champions on their victory ride back to the east of the county. I've heard rumours about a lap-dancer being pressed into duty tonight, I can only guess that will be the reward for any LOSING Glynde players rather than for the winners! The visiting Fish will give the home team some nervous moments thanks to the start they will get but the indestructables will be back to winning ways with a 3-2 victory to conclude their successful League Cup season. (4,700) Laughing Fish K v Plough Plumpton (2,700) Sadly the Plough have called this game off due to several of their players being away on holiday so the final Tipsters positions will not be known until this game has been played. The visitors need a solitary point to avoid finishing bottom of the table and the Kippers will be hoping for a 4-1 home win to secure the runners-up spot. Cock'n'Balls (2,500) have a bye this week A week of rest for the weary Cock team who will be looking to rise to the challenge of the League competition when it returns in a couple of weeks time.

black horse v albion with a 600 start for the dark nags it going to be difficult for the visitors unless the draw comes to their aid but the tail will wag too much leaving the black smith with no new shoes to make this time a 3-2 home win looks likely Hikers v hospital 2300 start will give the visitors a pick me up to raise the blood pressure but the prognosis is bleak on the hikers table the blue suede shoes fitting correctly and forcing a 3-2 home win Glynde club v W's Just one point needed to secure the title for the home team.... the champagne will be on ice behind the bar and the open-top bus (okay, it's Gandalf's pick-up truck really!) will be waiting to take the champions on their victory ride back to the east of the county. I've heard rumours about a lap-dancer being pressed into duty tonight, I can only guess that will be the reward for any LOSING Glynde players rather than for the winners! The visiting Fish will give the home team some nervous moments thanks to the start they will get but the indestructibles will be back to winning ways with a 3-2 victory to conclude our successful League Cup season. K's v Plough 2000 wont be enough tonight, the final score will as ever depend on the lineup for each team but with the k's needing a 5-0 to secure the runners up spot the team will be the best that Dave can find and I think its on the cards so it 'll be smiles all round for the happy ichthyologists 5-0 home win Cock with be treating it's vocal chords with respect ready for the morning chorus cheering the victorious club....(I hope) PS this thread great fun as ever, well done the WC lets hope a few more have a giggle next season

Well into the last week and has Silent an unassailable lead or will it be a case of Silence is Golden, when the laggers catch up.
Black Horse advantage of home table could see them break into a trot and also a 600 advantage it could be that they are favourites, but i can see the Albion Hollingbury coming away with the spoils causing their usually sedate captain to break into voice and raise a few decibels in triumph after a 3-2 win.
Hikers will be rested after a short trek to their home venue and despite having to give away 2300 to the Hospital Club I can see the away team loicking their wounds all the way back to the wards after being put on the operating table and being dissected after a 4-1 drubbing.
Glynde look to finish in style and will hope to be the tenors on the night and come away with an operatic aria, and despite the Laughing Fish having a whale of a time i cannot see them stopping the Glynde from taking centre stage and coming back for encores s a 4-1 home win.
In the cancelled game once re-arranged I cannot see any Ploughing to an away win despite a 2000 advantage, and the Kippers will come away Laughing after inflicting a 4-1 fishy defeat on the Ploughers.
The Cock get to rest on their balls, no sorry laurels, as they get a bye on the last week of fixtures and they will not change their league position but will still see them crowing as they will have enjoyed themselves.

Here are the Silent Tips:- (2,800) Black Horse v Albion Hollingbury (3,400) - Hard to argue with the astute writings of Mr WC regarding the away players performances on this table....adding to the woe it is one of only two tables that Nige has lost on in Lewes this season (not happening tonight so keeping his 100% league cup record in tact.....do you think this has anything to do with the 'awesome' captain??) but Jack 'Slayer' Baden (after his slaying of Silent on Wednesday night) has a 100% record here and after the 'submarine' torpedoed her opponent last week we are very hopeful of a win. Very optimistic prediction of 4-1 away win against a very nice set of opponents (4,800) Hikers Rest v Hospital Club (2,500) - I had a quick look at my end of season predictions before making a stab at this one...I noticed that I had the doctors in 2nd place but although they currently fill that position and have a very good start in the handicap I am looking for a 'legs' bonus and think Kev will win the decider and give the home team a 3-2 win thus demoting 'consultant Chant' to a simple GP (4,800) Glynde Club v Laughing Fish W (3,100) Just one point needed to secure the title for the home team.... the champagne will be on ice behind the bar and the open-top bus (okay, it's Gandalf's pick-up truck really!) will be waiting to take the champions on their victory ride back to the east of the county. I've heard rumours about a lap-dancer being pressed into duty tonight, I can only guess that will be the reward for any LOSING Glynde players rather than for the winners! The visiting Fish will give the home team some nervous moments thanks to the start they will get but the indestructibles will be back to winning ways with a 3-2 victory to conclude our successful League Cup season.......... well who am I to argue (4,700) Laughing Fish K v Plough Plumpton (2,700) - The Plough are currently in bad back territory holding up the rest of the division. This is not the place you want to visit against some savage opponents, who are currently being chastised by the home captain for failing (in all likelihood) to win the League Cup this season .......what a load of rubbish (the write up and the Ks performance ) Home win 5-0 Cock'n'Balls (2,500) have a bye this week - A well deserved rest for our friends from the Cock who might end up with the misfortune of finishing bottom once the final points have been totted up The Glynde Club need just ONE point to secure the League Cup title this year.... but any one of SIX teams could be runners-up! ..... and will get it...(gold for Col's Champs) ....runners-up Laughing Fish K...(only a silver for Dave's Dastardlies)
In the Tipsters challenge, Silent has an even more impressive lead than the Glynde do in the League Cup... so it is going to take something special to try and catch him up. ....... if only my bar billiards was as good as my 'tipping'.....got to feel sorry for Mr Ridley who actually played me on a going day last Thursday Good luck to our friendly marker when it comes to the important part of the final points, it will take him ages to read all this so plenty of marks being subtracted I am sure... Seriously Dave thanks for all your efforts (and well done of your personal best last night)

Ooooops forgot last week , well here goes for the last week. After looking at my season predictions and the Hikers needing a good win to gain the prediction of 2nd place here goes. Black Horse 2 Albion Hollingbury 3 With just a 600 handicap to overcome and Silent encouragement a 3 2 away win. Hikers 5 Hospital Club 0 The mighty Hikers to inflict pain on the Hospitallers and send them away licking their wounds. Glynde 3 Fish 2 Glynde to take the title and celebrations could even keep Ray quiet . Fish K 2 Plough 3 Cancelled tonight but the Plough to come back rejuvenated from their hols and make the most of the handicaps and take victory. Cock to have arrest tonight and sadly fall to bottom of the table. Yep think that makes us 2nd , not 7th,8th , 9th or bottom. Sssshhhhhh

Okay, time for me to (finally) do some marking here as all of the games have now been played. I will start with ("False") JB.... JB's fluttering eyelashes are always worth a bonus point, I am not sure that fluttering eyelids have quite the same effect but I am feeling in a very kind mood today, probably that mood inspired by the thought of the personal lap dance! The additional emoticons certainly added more sincerity to the whole post so 3 bonus points to start with here. Black horse v Albion the horse with a 600 kick off look ready for a trot in the park if the draw goes their way, being lucky horseshoe day the horse will nose ahead at the right time and take a 3-2 Home win A 4-1 home win gives you a point but since it was lucky horseshoe day I will add a bonus point.... even though I have never actually heard of it but clearly your knowledge (or imagination) is better than mine! Hikers v Hospital with the 2300 start and three breaks the visitors could easily come out in the top bunk tonight but My Boys will "endeavour to persevere" and take "The Hill" (oh no not again )a well earned 3-2 home win Another 4-1 home win gives you a point and a bonus point for humour. Glynde v W's 1700 start may be enough with the breaks but my best pal Colin won't come unstuck at the edges and his band of merry (mostly) men will be swinging from the trees in Gay Abandon once their first game is won, Might even see Dave The Bar having a go tonight in game 5 if his back is up to it.....Colin tells me 3-2 Home win 3 points for correctly predicting the right score line. I was surprised to see you describe the Glynde team as "mostly" men but then realised that you must have been aware of Colin's history of cross-dressing at the (Redhill) weekends so have to award a couple of bonus points for that although you nearly lost that as the thought of him swinging from trees (or anything else) in Gay Abandon is rather frightening! K's V Plough a 2000 start for the homesters wont be enough unless at full strength giving the K's an "easy rider" (oh no not again, again)to the finish line with a 3-2 away win A 4-1 home win means no points for the result but I will give you a bonus for the humour. The Cock wont be doin out tonight just building up for next time!! Very true.... but not worth a bonus I am afraid. (False) JB - 13 points

Okay, me next.... A 4-1 home win means 1 point for the result. Nige retained his 100% winning record and the "awesome" visiting Captain kept up his (unimpressive) record here with a big fat zero! 2 bonus points awarded for humour and the accuracy of those predictions. A 4-1 home win means just the one point here with the home team trampling the visiting medics into the dust with some big scores. Spot on with this result for 3 points and 2 bonus points awarded for humour. Spot on with this result for another 3 points. Cock'n'Balls (2,500) have a bye this week A week of rest for the weary Cock team who will be looking to rise to the challenge of the League competition when it returns in a couple of weeks time. A scarecely earned bonus point for this.... BB Warrior - 13 points

Okay, Gandalf next.... unless it is JB impersonating him? black horse v albion with a 600 start for the dark nags it going to be difficult for the visitors unless the draw comes to their aid but the tail will wag too much leaving the black smith with no new shoes to make this time a 3-2 home win looks likely A 4-1 home win gives you 1 point plus a bonus point for humour. Hikers v hospital 2300 start will give the visitors a pick me up to raise the blood pressure but the prognosis is bleak on the hikers table the blue suede shoes fitting correctly and forcing a 3-2 home win Another 4-1 home win gives you another point plus a bonus. Glynde club v W's Just one point needed to secure the title for the home team.... the champagne will be on ice behind the bar and the open-top bus (okay, it's Gandalf's pick-up truck really!) will be waiting to take the champions on their victory ride back to the east of the county. Hmmmm, this prediction looks very familiar.... ah yes, it's because it is copied exactly from my tipsters post! Although the result is spot on and (I think) that MY humour was brilliant (in my post).... NO POINTS awarded here but at least I haven't deducted any points - yet!! K's v Plough 2000 wont be enough tonight, the final score will as ever depend on the lineup for each team but with the k's needing a 5-0 to secure the runners up spot the team will be the best that Dave can find and I think its on the cards so it 'll be smiles all round for the happy ichthyologists 5-0 home win So close to being spot on with the result, Colleen just losing to Chase after the bar had dropped. 1 point for the home win plus a bonus point for using a very big word! Cock with be treating it's vocal chords with respect ready for the morning chorus cheering the victorious club....(I hope) I doubt if they even raised a whistle for you.... but you can have a bonus point for the thought! PS this thread great fun as ever, well done the WC lets hope a few more have a giggle next season I am glad you have enjoyed it and it does add a bit of fun to the League. The best part for me is that everybody has entered into the spirit of the thing and there have been no unpleasant or nasty comments.... just good old humour. Hopefully we will have the same again next year. Gandalf the Untidy - 7 points

BigTJ next.... Well into the last week and has Silent an unassailable lead or will it be a case of Silence is Golden, when the laggers catch up. "Silent" being silent.... about as much chance of that as the laggers have of catching him up! I will give you a bonus point to give you a bit of a hand with that though. Black Horse advantage of home table could see them break into a trot and also a 600 advantage it could be that they are favourites, but i can see the Albion Hollingbury coming away with the spoils causing their usually sedate captain to break into voice and raise a few decibels in triumph after a 3-2 win. The history of this encounter was against you and history repated itself. A bonus point earned as I am sure the decibels were pretty high anyway! Hikers will be rested after a short trek to their home venue and despite having to give away 2300 to the Hospital Club I can see the away team loicking their wounds all the way back to the wards after being put on the operating table and being dissected after a 4-1 drubbing. Spot on with the result for 3 points and a bonus point for the topical humour. Glynde look to finish in style and will hope to be the tenors on the night and come away with an operatic aria, and despite the Laughing Fish having a whale of a time i cannot see them stopping the Glynde from taking centre stage and coming back for encores s a 4-1 home win. I think that the home side had a few soprano moments on the night but they managed a 3-2 home win to give you one point plus 2 bonus points for (lots of) topical humour. In the cancelled game once re-arranged I cannot see any Ploughing to an away win despite a 2000 advantage, and the Kippers will come away Laughing after inflicting a 4-1 fishy defeat on the Ploughers. Spot on for 3 points plus a bonus. The Cock get to rest on their balls, no sorry laurels, as they get a bye on the last week of fixtures and they will not change their league position but will still see them crowing as they will have enjoyed themselves. Oooh, the first bit sounds painful but must be worth a bonus for the humour. BigTJ - 13 points

Our Tipsters leader is next.... Oh.... another very long entry.... how surprising. (2,800) Black Horse v Albion Hollingbury (3,400) - Hard to argue with the astute writings of Mr WC regarding the away players performances on this table....adding to the woe it is one of only two tables that Nige has lost on in Lewes this season (not happening tonight so keeping his 100% league cup record in tact.....do you think this has anything to do with the 'awesome' captain??) but Jack 'Slayer' Baden (after his slaying of Silent on Wednesday night) has a 100% record here and after the 'submarine' torpedoed her opponent last week we are very hopeful of a win. Very optimistic prediction of 4-1 away win against a very nice set of opponents Haha, it must be something to do with the lime & water that you drink that must have inspired you to think that a 4-1 away win was on the cards! A 4-1 home win means no points for the result.... but there has to be something in amongst all of the waffle that deserves a bonus point. (4,800) Hikers Rest v Hospital Club (2,500) - I had a quick look at my end of season predictions before making a stab at this one...I noticed that I had the doctors in 2nd place but although they currently fill that position and have a very good start in the handicap I am looking for a 'legs' bonus and think Kev will win the decider and give the home team a 3-2 win thus demoting 'consultant Chant' to a simple GP A 4-1 home win gives you 1 point for the result, definitely worth a bonus point for the humour here. The visiting Fish will give the home team some nervous moments thanks to the start they will get but the indestructibles will be back to winning ways with a 3-2 victory to conclude our successful League Cup season.......... well who am I to argue Unbelievable the amount of blatant cheating going on this week, I can only assume that neither Gandalf or Silent could improve on my post so thought that copying it would give them extra points as it is a form of flattery! NO POINTS here and there may be penalties awarded later.... (4,700) Laughing Fish K v Plough Plumpton (2,700) - The Plough are currently in bad back territory holding up the rest of the division. This is not the place you want to visit against some savage opponents, who are currently being chastised by the home captain for failing (in all likelihood) to win the League Cup this season .......what a load of rubbish (the write up and the Ks performance ) Home win 5-0 Wow... "savage opponents".... "chastised by the home captain for failing"....that's a bit harsh on the Kippers even if it is true! We ONLY managed a 4-1 win in the re-arranged match and that was after heavy use of the riding crop for this match. One point for the result and a bonus point for the excellent (and accurate) humour here. Cock'n'Balls (2,500) have a bye this week - A well deserved rest for our friends from the Cock who might end up with the misfortune of finishing bottom once the final points have been totted up A bonus point awarded for your correct prediction that the Cock would finish bottom this season. (The Glynde Club need just ONE point to secure the League Cup title this year.... but any one of SIX teams could be runners-up! ..... and will get it...(gold for Col's Champs) ....runners-up Laughing Fish K...(only a silver for Dave's Dastardlies)
A bonus point for being so NICE to everybody.... In the Tipsters challenge, Silent has an even more impressive lead than the Glynde do in the League Cup... so it is going to take something special to try and catch him up. ....... if only my bar billiards was as good as my 'tipping'.....Yes.... if only.... Good luck to our friendly marker when it comes to the important part of the final points, it will take him ages to read all this so plenty of marks being subtracted I am sure... Seriously Dave thanks for all your efforts (and well done of your personal best last night) I was starting to think that I had mistakenly picked up "War & Peace" rather than simply marking the Tipsters thread.... but I have had fun doing this again this season and would like to thank everyone that has taken part. Silent - 7 points

Little Legs is last.... but not least. Ooooops forgot last week , well here goes for the last week. After looking at my season predictions and the Hikers needing a good win to gain the prediction of 2nd place here goes. I should take away points for missing weeks.... but will give you a bonus instead. Black Horse 2 Albion Hollingbury 3 With just a 600 handicap to overcome and Silent encouragement a 3 2 away win. Not even the Silent encouragement can earn you more than 1 bonus point here. Hikers 5 Hospital Club 0 The mighty Hikers to inflict pain on the Hospitallers and send them away licking their wounds. Pain was inflicted in a 4-1 home win to earn you 1 point for the result and a topical bonus. Glynde 3 Fish 2 Glynde to take the title and celebrations could even keep Ray quiet . 3 points for the correct result plus a bonus as (maybe) Ray was silenced after Gandalf put 10k past him. Fish K 2 Plough 3 Cancelled tonight but the Plough to come back rejuvenated from their hols and make the most of the handicaps and take victory. Looks like Little Legs has been on the happy juice with this prediction.... 1 point for optimism only. Cock to have arrest tonight and sadly fall to bottom of the table. Worrying news that the police have been called to Wivelsfield.... One bonus point awarded for the predicted final position. Yep think that makes us 2nd , not 7th,8th , 9th or bottom. Sssshhhhhh Well.... I guess that 4th is nearly as good as 2nd? A consolation bonus point awarded here. Little Legs - 11 points

Okay, the final chance to add (or DEDUCT) some points for this weeks competition.... Let's start with a familiar theme from Gandalf.... Sadly the table was very difficult tonight, to such a degree that we feel the it needs to be changed, ie new cushions and re-clothed or replaced with new over the summer break .... a donation to the Lewes bonfire society would be my suggestion for the table! Gandalf can have a consolation point awarded as I know that he does always try very hard to provide a good table for every team that plays there. Silent, as always, was very honest in his match report.... Dear oh dear a pretty shocking effort all round none worse than my attempt in leg 4 There were certainly a few rolls (not sausage) that caught us out tonight, fortunately Nige got annoyed enough with them that he got a 5k break in the last 4 minutes to secure 8 out of 8 .... and food (as always) was also on his mind as well! Silent gains a bonus point simply because I always enjoy reading his match reports and Nigel can also have a bonus for finishing unbeaten in the League Cup this year. Little Legs can also have a bonus point.... Hikers 4 Hospital Club 1 So nearly the perfect prediction from Captain Kev , shame I didn,t start playing until the last 5 minutes. .... as consolation for being the "nearly man". I simply have to give myself a bonus point for this comment.... As if the thought of Gandalf fluttering his eyelashes at me wasn't sufficiently worrying, with this suggestion he has now moved the goalposts even further than those 4-pin pegs were moved recently....! .... I would have liked to have made it a (topical) 4 point bonus but can't (quite) justify that many! There are (many) times that I do worry about Gandalf.... Hi BBW, JB might not be female you know like to keep you thinking!! .... but he gains a bonus point for his humour which I do enjoy. Silent picks up a bonus point for spotting this in another area of the forum... Sorry guys, yes the draw was done. However my able assistant has been away. The draw should be posted tomorrow!! Since tomorrow never comes.... Gary kindly sent me the draw today and here it is.... From another thread.....not content with being BBW and a Mr WC Dave is now an AA AA could obviously mean "Amazingly Attractive" which I am sure he was thinking of rather than the option of "Absolute A$$hole" which would probably be the thoughts of many others! Which just leaves me to consider this final post.... Hope there's a prize for the most penalty points .... with both Silent and Gandalf copying my prediction for Glynde v Laughing Fish W word for word do I take that as flattery and award a bonus point for that or do I deduct points from them? I will keep them both on tenterhooks for a while and think about that one.... Points awarded to date for this week.... BB Warrior - 13 + 1 bonus = 14 points (False) JB - 13 points BigTJ - 13 points Little Legs - 11 + 1 bonus = 12 points Gandalf the Untidy - 7 + 2 bonus = 9 points Silent - 7 + 2 bonus = 9 points NigelS - 1 bonus

After much thought, I have finally made a decision about this.... Which just leaves me to consider this final post.... Hope there's a prize for the most penalty points .... with both Silent and Gandalf copying my prediction for Glynde v Laughing Fish W word for word do I take that as flattery and award a bonus point for that or do I deduct points from them? Copying a post from another tipster word for word really is NOT in the spirit of the game and there must be penalties. I awarded myself a total of 5 points for the post, 3 for the actual prediction and 2 for humour. It would be harsh to deduct 5 points from both Gandalf and Silent so although Silent obviously copied TWO previous predictions so his is the greater offence. Gandalf therefore will have 3 points deducted from his total this week and Silent will have 6 points deducted. Revised totals for this week now shown below.... BB Warrior - 13 + 1 bonus = 14 points (False) JB - 13 points BigTJ - 13 points Little Legs - 11 + 1 bonus = 12 points Gandalf the Untidy - 7 + 2 bonus minus 3 penalty = 6 points Silent - 7 + 2 bonus minus 6 penalty = 3 points NigelS - 1 bonus

Sadly BBW you have made a ginormous error, I copied most of your comment but did change 1 word and therefore Silent must have copied my post and not yours, I feel a BBW penalty is in order and an additional untidy bonus of say 4 points and a silent penalty of 1 point for Copying my post then I thinks all will be rosy in the untidy garden

Your appeal is therefore rejected on this occasion.

perhaps a "worth a try bonus" instead bbw we dont mind if the effect is dropping you to 3rd place do we More likely to receive a "pushing your luck" deduction to knock you down a few places Gandalf...!! I notice that Silent is keeping unusually quiet about this.... perhaps I will knock a few more points off his score to wake him up a bit?
