This will be followed by the presentation of prizes by our Sponsor. table was interesting to say the least! Doesn't match up with the Albion ? Both have 4 legs and nine holes and I should imagine that's where the similarity ends..... At least that one's out of the way now and you can't be drawn there again !

Paul and Jim beat Clive and Margo 2-0. Good breaks at some stage by Paul and Jim. By contrast tommo made no sense whatsoever of the Stout House table and a blessing we were spared the ordeal of a third game. Good luck guys in the next round, if memory serves I think you've got Joe and Silent.

Took us a while to pick up the pace after Windmill GG practice yesterday: Jim found the break OK in the first game, I found it in the second (bit like HHUSC). Nice lively venue, pentathlon going on with several BB players involved: Absolute Radio, TV on with no sound, good karma all round. Looking forward to July 12th.

TJ and Rick won two straight on the Bull against Jim and Gareth, the D left a lot to be desired, break was there and split, difficult at top end. I had the run of the balls all evening but a deserved win for us, thanks to Lee for scoring. Didn't keep the scores.

Rob Hall/Kevin Hall (Hikers Rest A) v Kevin Tunstall/Martin Cole (White Hart A) @ Windmill Crawley (playing Wed 22nd)This one lived up to its billing as a thriller...... Game 1: KT kicked off with 6k, Nipper pushed it past 10k on his visit. Game 2: All Bob Hall who started with 7k and ended up with 9k. Game 3: Kev Hall opened with 3k and looked absolutely disconsolate when he pushed past on the one-up. Nipper more or less matched this, Boball didn't get 'em back, and just when it looked like KT would he had an unlucky peg. Chunky then salvaged his reputation by bringing the score up to 9k before touching. A great match with all four playing their part.

Re quarter final games: Jim is unavailable on the 12th, he has asked me if I can organise a postonement till July 19th. Here's hoping that Matt and Joe will read this and are OK to play this game on the 19th, please RSVP using the proboards if this is acceptable.

Result was 2-0 to Mal and Del on a slower-than-normal Limeburners top (cursed rain !). First game was close, only decided after the bar had gone. Second about 2k in it, with a good break from each of the victors.
Good fun seeing Mick trying to explain the rules of the game to a Dutchman who didn't understand a word of English, and who received an "old-fashioned look" from Mal for standing adjacent to the table while the match was in progress !

A similar state of affairs at The Bull with Sam and Hoppo comfortable winners of the first frame by 6k - 900 only for Jim and Sleezy to come good in frames 2 and 3, each time by a similar margin. Entertaining match to witness, with some good banter.

Yours and Kevin's gain, and in any case it's another four weeks away.

Game one Tj spun his first one up out, Mal got them back left one up short. Derek added 1k, TJ pegged 3.5k when thinning the split Mal added 3k and touched when balls awkward and 16 and half minutes gone, Rick got them back and played for practice time for the next frame, but table went 20 minutes so Rick played table out to take the leg.
Dereck opened with just under Ik, bit of play at top and Rick and TJ squeezed a lead but Mal looked to about the first to get them back, when roll caught him out, TJ balls back and stayed there somehow for the first 3k, then carried on to touch at 8k with his partner reminding him a few times it was a nice brek.
Thank you to the Roffey CC for hosting and to Chunky for preparing the table and putting the match balls in.

Thanks for the report TJ which will go on to the HDBBL website for posterity. With a bit of poetic license (Junky for Chunky).

Quarter final: Matt and Joe 2, Paul and Jim 1. 'Fraid the H&D participation ground to a halt at Roffey SSC earlier this PM. First two games went with the break: third game going our way till Matt got the break back and really concentrated thereafter. Well played Matt and Joe.

'Fraid the H&D participation ground to a halt at Roffey SSC earlier this PM. Sounds like you gave it a good go. Unlucky, lads. There's always Boball left to root for, I suppose.
