The following proposals have been sent by Dave Alder to the AEBBA Committee this morning....
Proposals for 2015 AGM on 6th December
1) A team of five ladies can be made up from any county that cannot field a full side. This new team shall be called “County Five” and must be selected from the said counties and sent to the AEBBA Secretary before 1st September in the current year. All other counties shall send a vote of confidence or NO confidence to ensure fair play at all times.
If proposal (1) is passed
1a ) ANY Lady player who represents the “County Five” will still be eligible to represent their own county in the Ladies Individual Championship
Proposed by Charlie Gildersleeve Seconded by Cliff Slade
Proposals for 2015 AGM on 6th December
19a) With effect from the 1st December 2015, the Financial Year for the AEBBA will run from the 1st December 2015 until the 31st August. For 2016/2017 the Financial Year will run from 1st September2016 to the 31st August 2017 of the following year and annually from herein.
This will allow sufficient time for the “Independent Verifier” to fully examine the accounts prior to the Annual General Meeting. and ensure all of the Bournemouth accounts are settled.
Proposed Chrissie N. Seconded Dave Ingram
Proposals for 2015 AGM on 6th December
Revised proposal to amend Rule 55) Pub/Club Team Competition Rules: a) All counties must hold a separate qualifying competition for teams that wish to enter this competition, the format for the qualifying event will be at the discretion of each individual county. If only one team within a county wish to enter, they will be declared the winners with no competition necessary. b) A team may enter a guest player PROVIDED he only plays for the team he is guesting for (and plays regularly for a Team within ANY League in the same county). Players are not restricted to the one county rule, rule 47), in this competition, provided they fulfil the other criteria. c) Players must be registered for the host venue and the same league at the start of the calendar year. d) Teams from the same league within a host venue may amalgamate. e) No player may play for more than one team during the same year. f) Registration forms must be supplied (normally by the County Secretary) to the A.E.B.B.A. Secretary by the end of August of that year's competition, to allow scrutinizing. Failure to comply with this will result in automatic disqualification from the finals. g) County champions will represent their counties at the Grand Finals. Proposed By Dave Ingram Seconded by Tony Willis.

The first one suggests that as long as you play in any league you can guest for a team, but the second point suggests you have to be signed on for that particular league?

Hi Mark, I think that you are getting confused between the rule for a "guest player" and the requirements for a "regular player" which is why there are 2 seperate parts to this rule. A guest player can be used from other leagues within the same county, a regular player must be somebody who usually plays for that team on the same night and in the same league as the rest of the players. The clarification about the regular players in part c) of the rule is mainly because of counties like Sussex who have teams playing from the same venue but in different leagues so that would prevent them from joining together under part d). I am sure that will make it as clear as mud now.... but the intention behind the rule changes are to allow slightly more flexibility as far as guest players are concerned without having an sdverse impact on the overall "integrity" of the competition.

Thanks for that Dave, just to let me be clear on this.....
If my team plays in the Oxford League, we could get a guest player from the Witney league even though that person does not play (or signed on for anyone) in the Oxford League?
Is this what you are saying ?

Is this what you are saying ? Yes, providing he meets all of the criteria and has not played for any other team in a qualifying event for the AEBBA Team Championships.
