In the unlikely event of a dropout, I am unexpectedly available next Sunday so will happily pay the entry fee and take part if there is a space.

Already been decided there is no room. Perfectly happy with that decision - was just seeing as the day had become free at the last minute

I really dont mind playing, to be honest would rather play than wait until 1.45. Would only mean leaving 1/2 hour earlier. Will leave it in Garys hands, just let me know so I can sort out travel times :)

I'm happy if everyone else is and it makes no impact on the draw, times etc. However, is this a permissible action under the rules? I don't want to start making precedents for future comps or upsetting anyone who enters on time and is travelling this weekend.

I can't see a problem with this if Henry wants to play as he's only filling a bye and a very good player goes in to a group with no big names in it!

Having given it further consideration and taken advice I think I am inclined to leave things as they are. However, if H turns up on the day and any further drop outs have occurred then I am happy that he can fill the gap(s). Sorry H and thank you Dawn for being so accommodating. Maybe next year contact me on the draw deadline, cheers.

Congratulations to Steven Sheard on winning the Surrey Open today, beating Mark Brewster in the final. In an exciting match, Mark lost the toss and the almost ran the table out with a 15.7k opening break before finishing with a lead of 16.1k. Steven started well and was always about on target and he ran the table out for 16.5k to take victory. Jim Greensted beat Bryan Stevens in the Plate Final, chances for both players in the first leg on tricky Table 9 with Bryan ending up with 5.5k to Jim's 3.2k. Jim then opened with a very good 13k break to take victory. Here are the latter stages of both competitions... Congratulations Steven on a fantastic win. The finalists were the two players with the most alcohol inside them, so that tells me something!
