Three Compasses 2, Mill 3 Andy Scotcher BP, Alan 2800 Carl Tudor 1370, Johnny 3320 Steve Willard 1670, Barry 1410 Jacob Ereira 1510, Mick 3240 Jason Duncton 2060, Vicky 1200 Lots of fun, especially with Jacob (he of the builders bum and self-admonishments a'plenty) And continual threats of violence by captain Jason to his own team. A good evening was capped by some top-notch food: Lasagne with generous helpings of chunky chips. Passed the Timson test (of worthiness of second helpings).

Springbok Club 2 The Railway 3 Trevor 1890 Sniffer 6450 Sniffer shot off with 4.5K and gave it all for me to do. I made a kind of valiant attempt, but the hill was too steep to climb Mike 800 Skippy BP I am unable to put into words the genuine shock we all felt for Skippy when he BP'd with a commanding score just as the bar dropped. Though grateful for the point Mike knows he was on the back foot throughout. Skippy was very gracious and has to be applauded for the way he took the loss which was down to bad luck. Rob 3570 Stuart 6880 A great game this, Stuart as expected got into it immediately putting 3K up. Rob came back with a similar score before Stuart took to the table again. Table time won this game, not one player being better than the other as both were equally matched. Vernon 3920 Clacky 3710 It took a very late charge by Vernon to clear up with about 2K to rip this win out of Clacky's grasp. Clacky was in control for most of the game and Vernon had to put in some decent shots to set up the final winning break. Gary 2970 Mark 3230 Mark mis-cued at the start letting Gary in, but the normal dependable skipper did not take advantage. Mark came back to take the lead leaving Gary to chase. This was a crucial game for both teams so obviously nerves played their part, but no discredit to the loser, he has as ever played a captains innings throughout the season. Great night with the Railway Boys and Gal, banter and laughter makes the night. Well done to SH A's for finishing 2nd in Div 2, we almost got ya

Stout House F 0 Southwater SC 5
Stuart Hope 1230 Ray Manser 2150 Colin Bolton 1000 Tony Franks 6720 Dave Simmons 620 Ollie Wilkins 4460 Grant Hope 60 Tony Temple 6690 Scott Hope 2220 Mel Blake 5620
Game 1: No Massive scores on this one, Ray steadily edged ahead throughout the game. A miscue midway from Pops perhaps more critical than we realised. Game 2: Scrappy start for both players, Franksey conjured up a 5k late on. Colin enjoyed watching that Game 3: Dave went back to basics tonight. Unfortunately his reference point must have been before he learnt to play the game. Despite a scrappy start, Ollie racked up more than enough to make the frame safe. Game 4: We noticed a pattern emerging here.... poor Grant ended up with 60! No BP's. No safety net. Tony even played with his arm in plaster.. and ended up with 6k! The way the game went, if Grant had played the hatstand tonight he would have lost!! Game 5: Scott at least looked convincing but we knew before he started where the point would go, Mel cheerily obliged.
Er, didn't quite go according to plan tonight.... Even the group of german tourists who had sat round watching the match shuffled out of the pub in disgust at such a one sided affair, obviously relieved they hadn't paid to watch.
But hey, someone has to lose each week and we had fun scraping together a reverse Hawaii...!
