Really pleased to win this one again. Thanks to all the organisers for running the day. This comp doesn't usually get much praise for the way the tables play but yesterday the 6 tables I played on were set up well with some big scores throughout the day .
Well done to Curt for winning the main and also a big well done to Lee for making the final taking some big names out!
Congrats to Matt Knight on the plate final, having played really well all day and even starting with a 14/15k break in the final! Unlucky to Damian Coates who could add this one to his plate collection!
Just wanted to say a big Thank You to the organisers Dawn, Ernie, Chris, Doug and all the others who helped! I know you were there at the early hours of the morning to set the tables up and I personally think they played really well and had a good day.
Now that's over 2 weeks and counting till we have got to do it!
Thanks Stephen, well done to you on playing very well throughout the day too. Also congratulations to Lee on his successful day. Thank you to everyone who made the day possible especially to Dawn and Chrissie for their very hard work on the admin desk on a very difficult day. It is always more difficult when people drop out but you had to deal with far too many. Thanks to those behind the scenes who I know were working to the early hours. I would also add thanks to Ros who scored all but one of my plate matches which I think meant 8 legs in a row
Finally, well done to Curt on winning his second open of the year
So, as I always say, another Open comes to an end!
Thank you to everyone who made the effort to come and support our Open, which hopefully you all enjoyed. We would like to thank Theresa and her staff from the Club and to Amber for supplying us with some lovely food.
Well done to Curt for winning the 17th Bucks Open, to Lee the losing finalist and to the losing semi finalists Mark and Matthew (I had high hopes for Matthew as we have never had a Bucks winner :(. Also congratulations to Matt Knight on winning the plate (he didn’t play until 3.15pm, then played non stop until 8.30pm!!) and to Damian for reaching yet another PLATE final :). The highest men’s break of 19,430 was won by Gareth Lloyd (Gareth, Jack collected your trophy and money), and the ladies break of 4,900 was won by Pauline Withey.
Lastly, thank you to everyone from Wycombe who helped unload/load the tables (we were there until 2.30am Sunday morning!), Ernie for setting them up, Dave and family for the usual delivery/collection, Doug for all your help, the table sponsors, Sue & Jeff for an absolute sterling effort again with selling raffle tickets, all the people who donated prizes, Pauline for folding the tickets as usual, Nigel for doing the format (as he does every year and would be lost without him) and to my lovely partner in running the day Chris, all of us in Wycombe thank you – next year again please :)
Just wanted to add our thanks to all those who helped us pack the tables away at the end of the evening - especially Stephen Coleman and young Jack. I don't think we have ever had so many people still left at the end :)
