It was with great shocked and dismay that I recieved the sad news that Richard Plaw passed away this weekend. I played with Richard at the Old Oak and The ZEDS in Billingshurst leagues along with Redhill Interleague. So enthusiastic and always willing to play. Still can`t believe this news RIP RP

Oh ! Just got in and that's definitely taken the wind out of my sails. This is hard to take, Richard was only in his forties I believe. Was it sudden ?
As Jim says, Richard loved his billiards and was not averse to a bit of banter. He served RBBL well and was a multiple Champion in the Billingshurst League.
Can't believe we won't be seeing him again. Our thoughts with his family.

I cannot believe the news of Richard's death. A lovely man. Even though he supported Fulham. Always one for some banter. Rip Richard. My condolences to Richard's family

A great shock indeed, Richard was one of the first players I got to know and has always been a bar Billiards ambassador whenever our paths crossed, he will be missed by all who knew him.

I am totally shocked, one of the things I enjoyed most about Jersey was the mickey taking and ribbing that went on between myself, Richard & the Wilkos.
A thoroughly nice guy who will be missed by more people than he could ever realise.
RIP Richard

Will miss you Richard, sometimes didn't know what was going on in your head but you where a great bloke and great ambassador for Bar Billiards, playing in the Sussex Inter League won't be the same without you but the Redhill League will miss you the most, RIP Richard.

What dreadful news.
I always looked forward to seeing Richard at interleague and Surrey events, often playing against him, although I played with him in the last Surrey Blind pairs. He was a great guy and a true sportsman.
My condolences to his family.

Can't believe this has happened. It it quite a shock. I was standing next to him only last Tuesday. There is a mystery surrounding Richard's death...... Apparently Richard also attended a Committee meeting last Thursday and mentioned he was looking forward to going to a beer festival at the weekend. Wonder if he made it ?

I haven't written a post for Richard until now, as I have taken some time to come to terms with the sad loss. Our presentation last Saturday was difficult for everyone as his absence left a hole in the evening. I thought DC gave a fitting tribute in what was such a difficult situation. It has been said before, but Richard will leave a huge gap in both the Redhill League and the Surrey matches. Already missing you mate.

I have also just caught up with the sad news of Richard's death.
I knew him for many years through the Interleague circuit, and Richard was a really nice guy and a good opponent as well. He had a ready sense of humour, whic was even sometimes funny!!
It is always a shock when we lose a member of the Bar Billiards family, but a 'youngster' like Richard is particularly hard to bear.
My thoughts are with his family and friends.

Thanks to everyone who attended Richard's funeral and helped us celebrate my brother's life. Also, thanks to all who have posted words of condolence and tributes to him. He was an avid supporter of the game because he got a tremendous amount out of the game. He really enjoyed the friendship and the banter. Thank you all.

Hi Tony, It was a moving service and the Led Zeppelin/Nickelback/Pink Floyd music was a nice touch.
Will always remember the night out Mick Wright and myself had visiting the various Redhill League venues before deciding to join the League: When we arrived at the Old Oak, you, Richard and Kenny Wilkinson introduced yourselves and we cut the tour short and remained there for the rest of the evening playing friendlies. Happier times.
