With 1 week to go my plea seems to have fallen on deaf ears !!!
I have only had 7 completed entry forms back so confirmed entries from.
The Bull Roffey Club Y Windmill GG Roffey CC Stout House A Roffey Club H Windmill CC
Unless I get the rest of the Forms back I may have to delay the start of the Season, I am aware of 3 teams that won't be entering a side if anyone else is having trouble then please make contact with me & let me know what's happening

THE NEW SEASON WILL START ON 13TH SEPTEMBER.
At last night's meeting it was decided to keep with the 2 Divisions.
Division One. Roffey Club Y The Bull Windmill GG Plough Limeburners
Division Two Roffey CC Stout House A Roffey Club H Windmill CC.
Fixtures List etc will be out soon.
Following on from discussions at the AGM and last night's meeting we have decided to re introduce the Charity Cup this will take place between the end of the first half & the start of the second half. It will be a Handicap competition based on last Season's averages it will be 5 single games. Stuart Carruthers is working on the Handicaps and these will be sent out soon. This will be a fun competition and a chance to raise some money with the away Captain choosing his/hers Charity. In Addition to this we will try to have as Many competition rounds on a Tuesday night as possible to make things easier for players. We will be retaining the Team Cup & Plate competition.

This is stupid and a waste of money the amount we could save having one division but I guess horsham would rather have a loss at the end of the year Rule 15 says that the two divisions will be equal in number this is not the case

Are you saying then that Brighton League are equally profligate in having 3 divisions (one of 4, one of 5 and one of 4) ? Your reference to Rule 15 is purely clutching at straws: with an odd number of teams, how else would we make it an even split ? Bottom line is, formation of the league is down to the committee's discretion. Stop wasting our time and find something worthwhile to comment on. HDBBL Chairman

Well thank you for your positive feedback !!!
Do you not think we gave up our time Formatting the New Season and thought long and hard on how to cope with losing 3 out 12 teams and what is the best way forward.
If we went down to one division you would have one winner and 8 teams playing for best of the rest.
You need to look at the bigger picture sometimes by keeping two divisions you are doing your best to keep the spirit of competition alive and allow teams to play for promotion. we have discussed the cost impact at Committee level and at the AGM where we had a less than 5% turnout.
Please do not quote Rules to me I can't make people play and there are no new teams banging on the door.

OK, just back from some RCC group therapy: may I just say that last night's committee meeting was carried out in a serious and measured manner. All aspects of the League were discussed, including finals night attendance / programme & raffle sales / retention of trophies. The two-division format was arrived at by a show of hands, in other words: democracy. Ian and Stuart have put a lot of "homework" into sorting things out, all credit to them. All sounds OK to me, like the comps on Tuesdays (saves clashes with Lewes) and the charity cup. Looking forward to receiving my welcome pack and another good tough season of H&D BB.

All fixtures through now, League from Ian and Charity and Team Cup formats and draws from Stu. I would like to express my thanks to both of these guys for the amount of work they have put in and the speed in which they have delivered. All now appearing on the website for easy reference.

I am not surprised you have lost 3 teams, look at the bickering going on between you all,is it old age, as for you Ian your comment I can't make people play,no you can't but you and Paul have done everything in your power to make sure that I after 44 years of playing bar billiards and desperately wanted to continue, will probably never be able to again all because I was to competitive.

Jim, I find your post utterly detestable, and YOU have made yourself unwelcome in numerous BB teams.
For those that know me you can rest assured that JB's post (skipapint) is pure malice,
and that Sk1ppy is entirely right that JB has brought it all upon himself.

Well I was expecting you as I have no doubts at all that you orchestrated my demise to be the first post yesterday, instead I had Sk1ppy who I have had no contact with whatsoever but obviously wishes to join in with anything that is posted on here, regardless of him not even knowing the price of bread. For persons that do not know what happened a year ago I put both balls down on a break 4 times,I was so annoyed I did not break my cue I did not poke the opponent in the eye I simply went and talked to the wall, which on reflection judging by my unsupportive team was by far the best option. Those who have known me for years know that I always have had a sense of humour, unfortunately Graham does not have one of these. If you would like to contact me by email I will forward an email from Paul to me which shows that he lied to me but I do not believe it was his choice Graham was it?

I have locked this thread as I consider enough has been said by all parties and it is all personal now and way off topic.
Any attempt to open another thread and continue this argument will result in an immediate suspension of the poster's account.
