I beat Phil Chapman 2-0 tonight. Phil unlucky in the first, going along nicely on 5k+ and the red rolling off the spot on the 1-up and losing his break. He didn't really have another chance after.

Witney Summer Individuals and Presentations at the Masons Arms North LeighMany congratulations to Terry Cook on winning the Witney Summer individual trophy last night. There were some very high-quality games over the semis and final with the table playing exceptionally well. In the first semi-final Mark Trafford was drawn against Jon Bamsey. Mark won the toss and put Jon in who then proceeded to run the table out bar the last ball for 19,280. Mark potted the last ball and set off chasing the score in the next game. He was going extremely well and well up on time what lost position at around 14,000! Jon then scratched a couple of thousand together and the game was over to all intents and purposes. The second semi-final was much more one-sided affair although the first game between Sid Ponting and Terry Cook was rather hesitant with Terry coming out on top by about 7000. In the second leg Sid broke down very early allowing Terry to get a 10,930 Break and clinch the match. The final between Jon and Terry promised a lot after the high-scoring semifinals and indeed John won the toss and put Terry in. Terry broke with 6330, Jon missed and Terry scored a further 9880 to end exactly 16,000 up on aggregate. After Jon's performance in the semi-final it was thought that there was still a very good chance of him getting back the arrears, but he inexplicably broke down at around 3000. The game deteriorated until Jon conceded and Terry was summer champion for the eighth or ninth time. Thanks to everyone who turned up last night (about 30) and making the night more of an event. Many thanks to Matt at the Masons for his hospitality and Foo for providing us with supper - it was much appreciated. Thanks also to Paul and Jenny for scoring and El Presidente, Roy Wain, for presenting the trophies. Presentations were also made to the Oracle Club with the Summer Cup and Bletchington A with the Summer Shield - well done to them after a very competitive Summer. Summer Singles Champion - Terry Cook of the Royal Oak Burford and Summer Champions - The Oracle Club in Abingdon. Attachments:
