Just to let you know the date for next years EA four pin has been confirmed as Saturday 25th March. It will once again be played at the Masonic Hall in Sudbury Suffolk.
I know it is still ages away but ive already had some people contact me asking if they can pay their entry fees at the Northants open weekend so I will do my best the remember to bring some entry forms along. As in previous years the entry fee will be £10 per person.
We will, as is now becoming tradirion, be holding a pre open get together on the Friday night at the bay horse where we should have at least two narrow tables available and it would be handy if nearer the time we can get some idea of how many people will be coming along.
The Bay Horse have put a block on people booking their rooms on line for that weekend but already they only have one room available for the Friday night and just two rooms for the Saturday so if you want to stay there please let me know asap as rooms will be allocated on a first come first served basis and remember it is room only. There are plenty of other hotels and B & Bs in the area, if you want some phone numbers just let me know.
Looking foward to seeing some of you in Northampton and then hopefully in Suffolk next year
Dave

Just a quick note to say all the rooms at the bay horse are now booked for the Friday night before our open and they have just one room left for the Saturday night
Hopefully we should have the entry form available on line within the next couple of weeks, there been a delay due to problems setting up a PayPal account to allow people to pay on line. We will of couse still be happy to receive payment by cash, cheque or bank transfer.
So far we have already had 6 paid entries from non Suffolk players, namely players from Eastbourne and Hastings who sorted things out during their trip up to the bay horse a few weeks ago.
I will start a new thread with a list of confirmed entries some time next week, but if anyone wants to show their interest by leaving a message here it would be helpful to us.
Looking forward to seeing you all in March for another great day
Dave

If anyone wants to pay by bank transfer please send me a PM and I can give you our bank account details. I dont want to put the details up on here as we want to have some sort of control and idea of who is paying and when.
I will send you a pm with the bank details asking you to put your name as a reference and asking you to send me a PM with the names and contact details of everyone you have paid for, hopefully that way we will have names and addresses of everyone entering so we can send out programmes in advance.

Over half the places have now been taken with still around six weeks before the closing date for entries so things are looking good. Please remember entries are taken on a first come first served basis and we have the promise of a good few more entrants from the sudbury league to come. You can either download the entry form and send it off with a cheque or if you prefer to transfer your entry fee straight into our bank account please send me a PM on here and I'll give you the details.
The bay horse rooms are fully booked for the Friday night and the last time I spoke to them they had just one room left for the Saturday night.
It would also be helpful if people could give an indication as to whether they will be at the now traditional bay horse piss up on the Friday so we have an indication of numbers
Looking forward to seeing you in March for another fun four pin open
Dave

As all of the places for the Specflue E A open have been taken well in advance it has been decided to bring the draw for the tournament forward to allow more time to prepare programmes etc. A provisional date and time have been set for Monday 6th February at 8pm at the bay horse in Sudbury, if anyone wants to pop along you will be more than welcome

The draw for this years Specflue open will take place at the Bay Horse Monday night from around 8, all teams from the Sudbury league have been informed and invited to come along to witness the draw and if anyone else want to just pop up the road to watch proceedings you are more than welcome. I will try to find time to post the group draw on the Tuesday evening
Don't forget we will also be raising money for the East Anglian Air Ambulance during our open so any donations or gifts we can use for raffle prizes will be gratefully received.

I understand from Chris that the programmes containg the draw and times for this years Specflue E A open have been posted so if you havent already received yours it should be with you very soon. Where a number of players entered together and we only have one address obviously all the programmes will be sent to that address.
See you in a couple of weeks

(= seasonal affectation disorder). I had a great first half but can't seem to buy a win since Christmas. At times like these all we can do is count our other blessings. Hopefully you'll perform well on the Saturday and it will renew your appetite for the game. I'm determined to enjoy it come what may.

Tommo's annual check list........ 1. Paid Dart Charge (£5) in advance. 2. Booked early morning call. 3. Set aside a raffle prize. 4. Re-tipped cue. 5. Checked best route to/from.
Regarding 5), each year so far Google Maps journey planner has recommended something different, as rather gratifyingly road improvements on the outskirts of Colchester have been ongoing. This year I shall leave the A12 at the Marks Tey interchange for the B1408, then take a left at Turkey Cock Lane for the B1508 and a straight line to Sudbury.
