Worthing B 4 v 3 Lewes
* Steve Aylmore 1630 9760 Darren Newnham Nick Brown 8470 2200 Jan Bithell * Rick Cunningham 11520 440 Huw Lincoln * (game played last) * Neil Higgins 5210 3390 Stewart Chant Joe Oakley 9120 920 Dave Knight * Gary Ridley 4680 4820 Ric Bithell * * Tony Jenner 4160 4350 Chase Newman
Darren made a good start for Lewes, but the home team came back strongly to win the next 3 games. Ric and Chase then both came from behind to narrowly win, levelling the match. Unfortunately Huw, arriving late straight from work, was no match for Rick's dominant performance in the decider.

To fill in the scores from Bob's earlier post:- Sussex Inter League | Worthing A | Mid Sussex A | 9th October 2016 | J Greensted | 15040 | 170 | M Kirwan | I Lelliott | 1780 | 4460 | P Edwards | G Fitzjohn | 13310 | 1490 | A Farmer-Wright | S Mepham | 9060 | 5650 | R Hall | T Molloy | 3200 | 3800 | L Hall | M Smith | 910 | 10820 | R Wooton | A Squires | 7420 | 2190 | D Taylor | Result | 4 | 3 |
|
Jim opened with 5k and then added another 9k. Pete off on 1k, Ian lost 2k and Pete added another couple of breaks to make it 1-1 Andy opened with just over 1k, I got 10k and then another 3k to finish off 2-1 Stu opened with 9k. good response from Bob, but not enough time 3-1 Plenty of chances in the next. Lorraine getting the balls back and finishing off with a crucial 2k at the end 3-2 Richard opened with 4k and finished with a good score after getting another 2 breaks. Martin having no luck in getting the balls back. 3-3 In the decider Adam opened with just under 2k, Derek matched Adam's score and Adam then got a match winning 5k. 4-3 A good evening and closely fought match with Mid Sussex. Relieved I didn't have to report to our captain that we lost !!

Horsham 2-5 Brighton A **Lee Cable 3810 - 3630 Jean Brackenridge Dick Cable 7100 - 1560 Sandra Hall** Steve King 1930 - 5550 Dave Reeves** **Rob Jones 1010 - 12,860 Matthew Knight Stuart Carruthers 170 - 9790 Marcus Chipman** Brian Martin 1360 - 11,480 Alan Brackenridge** **Steve Hopkins 4010 - 6290 Michelle Baden Excellent win for the Bees roaring (doesn't really go with bees but anyway) back from 2-0 down to win the last five. Very enjoyable night with plenty of banter and a captain I presume Brighton A game against Tunbridge Wells was cancelled because the A team played Horsham !!!

Brighton A v Tunbridge Wells rescheduled for Sunday 6th November Unfortunately Tunbridge Wells have now cancelled this date as well, due to it clashing with the Division 2 County Championships. I understand that we will try to find another date, but spare dates are few and far between before the second half of the inter league competition starts on 29th January. Looking ahead, there is a lot going on nearly every Sunday between now and then..... 30th October - Inter League Series 2 (and AEBBA Over 50's / 60's at Didcot) 6th November - AEBBA County Champs Div 2 13th November - Jersey Weekend 20th November - Inter League Series 3 27th November - AEBBA Grand Prix 4th December - AEBBA AGM 11th December - Inter League Series 4 18th December - Spare (but there is already a postponed Brighton League game arranged for this night that would involve at least 4 Brighton players) 25th December - Christmas 1st January - New Year 8th January - Inter League Series 5 15th January - Sussex Singles Competition 22nd January - Redhill Team Inter League Competition So, looking at that lot, probably the only available Sunday would be 4th December which would clash with the AEBBA AGM but at least that is likely to be finished early enough for players to return and then play the inter league game in the evening. Since most of the Brighton team play in multiple leagues that take place on 4 nights of the week in Sussex, Sunday is probably the only night that most players are available as nobody is ever keen to play on a Friday or Saturday evening. Maybe some of the people who were quick to grumble about Sussex arranging Inter League games that clash with AEBBA competitions will start to understand why this is unavoidable now.
