High Break - Henry Brooks (10,560) Nick went off with enough to win the first leg although Chunky made a great effort to catch him up. 1-0 Jim going well until he got a kick on a split shot on 4.6k, Neil got the balls back but broke down on 2k and the balls stayed awkward for a while before Jim got the break back and made sure. 1-1 Gareth off around 2k and although Adam got the break back he never looked settled, Gareth had a couple more goes at the break to make sure and lost about 3k at the end of the game. 1-2 Gary had quite a few excursions but made a very steady 5.5k opener, I didn't get the balls back and Gary added another 1k to make sure before I made the score more respectable. 2-2 A lovely 10.5k opener from Henry who never looked like missing, Tony pegged his only shot and H finished off in style to take the match, 2-3 A competitive match and enjoyable evening with the usual selection of sarnies provided by the Swan.

Very good, competitive match which saw us suffer our first defeat of the season. Well done to our opponents but it was certainly a match that could have gone either way.

Jack missed his break and Brian amassed 3k, then another 3k to make sure Terry off at 2k first to get them back added another 2k, Steve balls back going well, left it awkward pegged Terry made sure Roger off at 800, Mal couldn`t get them back, Roger added just over 3k. Mal balls back pegged 2.5k, then back again off at 850, Roger made sure. TJ 3 breaks to build 6.5k lead, Vern got to 4k and plenty of time left only to peg and game over Colin off at 2k, Rick levelled, and added some to lead, Colin 2 black pegs, Rick made sure. An excellent evening with the Swan, a lovely curry, rolls and home made scotch eggs to follow.

The Bar Billiards Gods deserted The Smugglers Return this afternoon (probably home doing the washing) Certainly the visitors struggled to keep their scores with some of the homies following suit. The final score somewhat unfair in the end as most of the games could have gone either way
Thanks to the Smugglers for organising a nice pasta and chilli snack in the interval and the Henty for bringing a fun attitude to the party
